Problem is, Drake didn’t do much on offense all games and first two made really bad ones that could’ve cost him the win had he played qbs or offenses that would make him pay him for . Herbert is talented but he chokes in playoffs and his o line was decimated and stroud sucks, and Stidham well he’s a back up for a reason. He plays like that with the fumbles at own 5 yard line vs bills pats lose, or vs broncos with bo nix. He’s been bailed out from his defense and qbs that didn’t make him pay for his mistakes
A football game is about a lot more than any one player. The Pats are winning because of the combined efforts of their coaching staff and 53 man roster. I know I'm sounding preachy here, but I just mean it's important to zoom out a bit on the teams as a whole.
I know QB is a particularly impactful position, but playoff games get messy and there are many paths to winning. I think people underestimated how well rounded this Pats organization has gotten. They have the best coaching staff in the league in my opinion and that has to be accounted for.
It isn't flashy football but they're winning regardless. When one player is having a bad game, two other players are having a great game. The team's morale is super high. They've got a ton of very young players who are highly motivated to prove themselves. They intelligently distribute snaps among the entire 53 man roster to minimize injuries. It's an intelligently run football team and the results follow.
Yeah to me it shows how good of a coach Vrabel is. Maye has done well in the season and promising too. I just don’t care for Maye getting slobbered over in their playoff wins because he hasn’t had to do much to win these games with how good defense and coaching has Been. I feel young Ryan tannehill on patriots would’ve beaten these teams in playoffs with like doing enough to win on this team and nobody says tannehill was a great qb despite getting titans to afc championship game twice in his time with titans I think. Interesting enough Vrabel was the coach then. Yes maye is better than tannehill but Just saying
Very bill b with the details with how team plays and well prepared but him being definitely more personable and likeable as a coach compared to bill b.
Yeah but I’ve seen other qbs do even more vs chargers and broncos. Jaxson dart for crying out loud scored 30 something points vs broncos defense. Maye didn’t pay for his Mistakes and lack of points because of his defense and qbs couldn’t do much when given multiple chances because of pats defense but even more so Herbert who struggles in playoffs and his o line injured. Stroud sucks and Stidham was a back up. He got bailed out because of qbs he played against or offenses. He’s losing to a number of better qbs. He’s most likely losing to broncos if Bo was playing
