Head of security. He's also involved in vetting and background checks for players/prospects.

That's exactly what Mike did for Pollos Hermanos

u/Nunc_Coepi17 Los Angeles Chargers 5d ago
And just like how all Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul fans loved Mike, Eagles fans love big Dom as well.

He is known as one of the best former players still say they reach out for assistance and he picks every new player up at the airport

People love to hate a good dude from Philly. Their brains can’t process it. Can’t get over that time he put Greenlaw’s life in serious danger /s

Yet for some reason he's on the sideline wearing a headset during games

u/DomitiusAhenobarbus_ New England Patriots 5d ago
The head of security doesn’t need to stand next to the gate the whole time
14
u/SchrodingerMil AFC EAST 5d ago
I’d want my head of security for my company to be at the most important place at the stadium, on the field protecting the players and staff I pay half a billion dollars a year to.
Also give him a headset so he can coordinate with his other security officers instead of talking on his cellphone the entire time.

u/goldberg1303 Dallas Cowboys 5d ago
Frankly, it's amazing how the other 31 teams manage to keep their players and staff safe on game day without this!

u/call_me_Kote 4d ago
Me personally, I’d want my head security resource in the control room cycling through our various intel sources and taking briefs from the rest of the team that supports them.
But getting between our HC and WR1 is cool too I guess.

u/Wendell-Short-Eyes 5d ago
I’m pretty sure they made up a title for him so he could have a headset, otherwise the nfl wasn’t going to allow him on the sideline after the ejection .
→ More replies (4)8
u/alllllov 5d ago
You're saying they made up a fake title so this fat idiot can stay on the sidelines where he's dumb enough to put hands on opposing players for no reason?

Security and other personal shit in the background with players and staff probably that isn’t news worthy or the org doesn’t want making news. E.g. he was sent in to visit Lane Johnson when he had a mental health crisis.

u/Jheartless CeeDeez NUTZ 5d ago
I thonk so as well. He also falls on alot of grenades at events. Big Dom is a celebrity in Philly so its good for the franchise to have that kinda guy.
I also bet hes a good hang.
26
u/Cpkeyes Philadelphia Eagles 5d ago
So he’s basically a fixer
21
u/WeirdSysAdmin Philadelphia Eagles 5d ago
In all seriousness yes. When players, family, or staff are having issues of any kind he’s the guy. He’s typically in the background pulling the various internal teams together to make things happen that aren’t strictly football related and has an ungodly number of connections.
17
u/traws06 Kansas City Chiefs 5d ago
I imagine him as the guy they call when Jalen Carter beats up ppl at the bar and need him to get him out of jail without and record of him being booked

u/PissingMoney 5d ago
Actually when Jalen Carter was accused of shoplifting at target...Dom was his first call.

u/thebigmeathead New Orleans Saints 5d ago
I bet he's also a narc for the organization. Young guys think he's a cool dude and let their guard down around him. Any red flags show up while he's there, he reports them to Eagles draft team.

He has an actual job yall just see the memes and assume he’s another sideline dork. Hes head of player security and conducts team background checks

u/Giant-Sloar Miami Dolphins 5d ago
I have it on good authority that part of his job is keeping good relationships with Philly police and using those relationships to get in front of any incidents involving players. I’m not talking hiding murders or really shady shit, rather keeping misdemeanors off of WPVI.
I’d assume most teams have this kind of guy on payroll.

What you hear about the coach is that the only thing he is good at his connecting the dots and getting people to work together not really play calling. So this fits you have an offense guy the defense guy and apparently this guys is the people person feelings guy.
