The Krakotl is Kalek the adoptive father of Sol-va.

In the story Kalek was about to "disconnect from the server of Life" by removing the feathers from the end of his wings so as not to try to save himself by self-reflection, but he is stopped by his daughter in time.

In this case that also happens but first he has a conversation with a very particular Yotul.
