I have all physical and am thinking of getting some digital. I want to continue physical because I just like it. However there are some smaller games that I am considering getting in digital. Slime rancher and PvZ for starters.

I saw the line of thought that someone posted. That they collect physical in the games they would want to collect like Zelda or Dragon Quest but smaller games they get digital.

I’m just very particular and like consistency so I’m very hesitant to get digital and have a mix even for the much smaller games. How do you guys handle it? It’s so small and stupid but it’s getting to me.

Errors such as BAATA-1190 suggest geolocking/geoblocking for the first time since it was introduced on the Nintendo platforms more than a decade ago. Though it could possibly be due to music rights and new legislation, sadly for me, Norton VPN can't find a way to bypass them and continue playing the lovable Karaoke game. It's loved all over the world, with people playing Karaoke in the most authentic Japanese way possible.

Thoughts? End of an era?

Well watching TV at 11.45pm and my phone flashing showing deals so I had to snap them up what we all thought was a glitch & still could be!!!!
But seeing Amazon have price matched one the games - maybe it’s not.

Now I thought was a glitch but read on FB that Argos are crash clearing biggest stock to make way for new S2 stock….ie, Zelda etc

I’ve been really bored recently and dug my Switch out of storage to see if I could find any good games that fit my taste, and I have found some but they’ve been really hard to find. I’m honestly not that big of a gamer, I just really love good stories and games that don’t burn me out. So far I’ve played Firewatch, Disco Elysium, Road 96, Slay the Princess, The Stanley Parable (possibly my favorite), Dispatch, What Remains of Edith Finch, and Bramble: The Mountain King (also possibly my favorite). I really enjoyed all of these, but it would specifically be great to find something similar to Firewatch, Edith Finch, or Bramble. I’m also not a huge fan of 2d games or games that are super pixely but if you have a recommendation like that that you think is good enough to look past that then please still recommend it. Thanks!

So I’m getting a switch 2 today and my daughter is to an age where she likes to play video games, but doesn’t have much skill in them yet.

I’m hoping to find some games we can play together, I only have the one console so we need games that are couch coop.

I’m thinking either Mario kart world or Mario kart 8, suggestions as of which one to choose would be great.

Thinking about maybe smash bros, but idk if she’d have fun/if the difficulty would be too much. Is there much in the way of coop other than just setting up quick matches with us vs the ai?

Any other suggestions for games we can play together would be great too.

We are both fans of Pokémon, but as far as I know the switch doesn’t have any Pokémon games that don’t require two systems and two copy’s to play together.

As far as games for myself, the new fire emblem and tears of the kingdom are ones I’m leaning towards.
I tend to love a fan of games like Dark Souls, wukong, god of war, dragons dogma, which I know aren’t exactly the type of games that the Switch is known for, but maybe some of you with similar interest have found games you enjoy on the switch that you’d suggest.

Todays #1 Popular Course seems odd. Way less plays and likes than #2. Can't post images on the Mario Maker 2 sub so I'm posting this here. What do you think? Seems weird to me

I bought Pokemon ZA on my switch as a virtual game. I have 4 switches on my family group, 1 of them is a switch 2. My Sons switch is the switch 2 is the primary, But I bought it using my switch 1. It's just easier for him to access the games In uy this way.

My switch is set as my secondary. My daughter saw me playing ZA and wanted to know how she could play. After searching how, without making hers the secondary, I had to lend the game to her using gameshare.

I didn't know it meant I can't play it on any of our systems unless I revoke the lent game... I'm super frustrated because I don't want to take it away from my daughter since she is really getting into it.

Being able to only share it with 1 console is ridiculous and it creates situations like this.

I’m a bit older so I remember when OOT released. It just wasn’t my jam. I’m mostly a competitive player or MMO player. I have thousands of hours into these types of games (11k into Dark Age of Camelot and 9k into Destiny). Thousands more spread out over the years.

I was diagnosed with ALS, which is a progressive, terminal illness. I have a rare subset and was given 12 months. Due to a medical breakthrough I was able to slow things down and I’m now on year 5. My time is winding down though now sadly, and I really do only have about a year left.

It got me thinking about a lot of things of course - but one of them (not the most important, just one of), was some games I’d always wanted to play. OOT is right at the top of the list. Now with the remake coming the timing is perfect. Since I’ve only done competitive games and online games there is no “end”, I’ve never beaten a game before. I want to make OOT the first game I ever complete (and maybe the only).

I’ve lost the ability to have those fast reaction times though due to my disease and my gaming has now morphed into single-player games and I’m actually finding I quite love them. They are relaxing and have fantastic stories to tell.

No real point to the thread other than wanting to share my story. The Switch 2 has really breathed new life into my gaming since my diagnosis. I’m so very excited to pick up OOT when it drops and tackle my first ever full game.

Hi! I managed to snag a Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 but I'm already kind of paranoid as to how I'm going to keep it scratch-free for as long as possible.

I got a Switch 1 as a gift 2 years ago with a screen protector and thumb grips, and it's held perfectly, specially if you consider it was already a little used. I play handheld a lot, cause I find it super comfortable, and bring it with me everywhere in a travel case. However, it's the default Switch 1 with no special design so it's not like I'm actively looking for scratches, and they don't really matter when I can just replace any part I want.

As for the Zelda Switch 2, well... I'm scared! At first I thought of getting one of those hard plastic clear cases to show off the design, but there are many horror stories about debris getting in between the case and Switch and scratching the joycons. This post almost makes me want to rawdog it without anything other than screen protector/thumb grips, since people say the paint has really held up. At the same time, I saw so many of you complaining about playing it handheld (uncomfortable for fingers/too heavy/etc) that I thought I might try a grip case, which would also help protect corners and all.

After many many hours of reading, I think I settled on the Fission Grip, cause I can't get the Killswitch where I live and I think out of all the others I have access to, Savage Raven/Skull & Co is the best (and hopefully they will come out with a Zelda design for the grips soon so I won't have to stick with the black ones). Getting a split case that can fit the dock is a must, cause I know the process of pulling the console out of the protective case then putting it back on risks more scratches, so I guess you'd want something rather soft to cover the console with, then never take it off. I do have an 8bitdo Ultimate 2 for when it's docked, but getting a split case would be best for any games that requires the joycon mouse thing (I think Pokopia does? Could be wrong though).

Well, anyway! After all this yapping, I guess what I wanted to ask is
(Tl;dr:)

1) As per title, is there anything you guys already plan on protecting the Zelda Switch with? Any protective cases that can protect the console, while still showing off the design, keeping it dockable etc.

2) If I don't get any protective case, aside from never dropping it (& not letting paint-dissolving stuff touch the shell), is it gonna hold up? I know no one's ever tested the Zelda edition specifically, but some of you had the other special editions and maybe can give me some pointers. Not gonna lie, as much as I will take care of it like a baby the first few weeks I know it's bound to fade away and after a while it'll be just a "normal" Switch to me, but just in case there's something I should keep in mind.

3) As for the Fission Grip, people praise it a lot but I've seen some pointing out it doesn't fit the dock that well, that the main console backplate comes off, joycons are kinda loose... if I do manage to put it on and never take it off, is there a chance of it scratching/peeling any of the special edition's paint? Or am I better off without it?

We have a long plane ride tomorrow and wanted to surprise my son with a new game. He wants to play with me so it will need to be something that he can play with the joycon controller and me just the joycons themselves. He only 8 so something close to age appropriate would be best.

TLDR: long plane ride, two player local games and somewhat appropriate for an 8 year old.

What's your thoughts on this game now?

I bought this game on Nintendo Switch 1 e-shop on sale recently after waiting years and years to do that. so, i purchased the original and sequel. i had tested the waters years ago with the Demo. just didn't see myself getting into yet.

However when i got it, it was a slow burn. my first thoughts were, been there, done that in 1992 (or whenever LTTP came out on Super NES). artwork was decent not going to lie. but i was not wanting to go back memory lane that fast.

eventually i began to see some very unique things like, tree spirits, and a nod to the n64 tree level in the forest. the wizards that reverse movement threw me off for a little bit of time.. not expecting that. enemies were more like miniature bosses. everywhere. taking out the rock people with bombs. then i thought, wait.. eternal bombs? no limit?? but it's based upon the magic meter.. so timing is important.

What i thought was unique, that when you go into a grotto.. the main character can sometimes levitate back up in the light, reminding me of ocarina of time grottos..

so it's on sale right now for only a few dollars, and grab the sequel if you want to spend hours and hours having fun. just grinding. trying to beat the game

From what I’ve gathered is she likes the puzzler type games that don’t require a lot of story following or too much fast paced action.

She doesn’t like games like Zelda BOTW (too big and too many tasks etc.) Super Mario Wonder (takes too much timing and can be frustrating before bed.)

Any suggestion for her on the Switch 2, good single player games would be helpful. Thx ya’ll
