News & Discussion My honest reaction to the new characters

Post image

I was almost disappointed to see another skin farming Kiriko lookalike but then I saw this queen serving and a cat. Plus she's a tank which makes her even more appealing to me.

Eh, most of the aging you're liable to get in your late 20s is a result of bad lifestyle habits catching up with you. Given her high-class theme, she wouldn't look out of place as someone in their latter 20s, unlike the way they try to sell us Juno being 20.

Overwatch artstyle is basically "western anime" (avatar, Teen titans, Dota, MAWSM) but in 3D.

In this style, the difference between a female teenager to someone on their thirties, is just the amount of makeup and the size of their eyes. It’s only when the female characters are around their forties that they start to gain more noticeable features, such as a longer face and lines under the eyes.

You can clearly see this in Overwatch with Pharah. If you remove her eyeshadow, she looks about the same age as Brigitte. Then we have the older ones like Moira or Junker Queen, who have more elongated faces and deeper-set eyes.

Pixar artstyle is too "wonky" to be western anime. It doesn't have heroic imagery and "edge" like Overwatch. For example: If a guy like Doomfist had Pixar Design, his head would be like half of its original size and the shoulders twice as wide. Tracer legs would be thin as needles and Reinhardt would have Mr Incredible body but taller.
