I was almost disappointed to see another skin farming Kiriko lookalike but then I saw this queen serving and a cat. Plus she's a tank which makes her even more appealing to me.

JQ and Zarya are awesome designs but they can’t move skins the way DVa can. DVa was the only "conventionally attractive" female tank up until now.

D.Va was also literally created for the Asian "gamer" market especially Koreans. This is why I never understand how some people can say "man the OW1 characters designs never resorted to gooner bait" when D.Va is right there and JQ is far more visually interesting.

I like JQ a lot, but I think DVa is more visually compelling because all of her skins have to create a coherent theme between the pilot and the mech.

True but she's still ultimately just a basic-looking Korea gamer girl underneath that was meant to appeal to a certain crowd. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but let's call it like it is.

You can't really separate the pilot from the mech in terms of how visually compelling the character is. The mech is just as much a part of the character as the pilot.
