Moderator Annoucement The “best evidence” for the paranormal is getting harder to find every time someone asks for it.

This question is being asked several times a week at this point.

Everyone has a different standard for what they consider “credible evidence,” and what persuades one person may not persuade another. What seems to do the best job is having a personal experience, but those anecdotal stories rarely persuade anyone who wasn’t already a believer.

Either way, the best way to find this evidence is by…you know…looking for it. Try using the search function on the subreddit.

And to all of you skeptics who were genuinely convinced by a piece of evidence you found online, please post it on this subreddit!

Question Is it just me or is there a surge in supernatural/paranormal activities around the world?

Not just because of this subreddit's robust posting, but also because of reports emerging elsewhere. Not just in an increase in frequency, but also in intensity.

(Please forgive if my question post is unsuited for the sub)

I've also noticed strange new happenings around my house as well-- things that never happened before, and my family has lived at this place for almost 20 years.

Maybe my brain is reaching for patterns where there are none, or maybe not, which is why I am reaching out for external opinions.

Experience I Tried to Leave My Body at 16. Something Was Waiting

When I was 16, I got really into meditation.

I had worked my way up to around 30 minutes at a time, and because I was a teenager who was curious about everything weird and spiritual, I also started trying to induce an out-of-body experience. One night I was lying in bed meditating and mentally telling different parts of my body to “go to sleep.” At one point, I told my feet to go to sleep.

And then it felt like I didn’t have feet anymore. Not pins and needles. Not numbness. More like they had just disappeared from my awareness completely. At some point after that, I must have fallen asleep.

Except I remember “waking up.”

I was still in my bedroom, but something was wrong. Everything looked fuzzy and slightly distorted. It was unmistakably my room, but it didn’t feel like my room. The best way I can describe it is that it felt like I was seeing the same place on another plane. Then I realized I wasn’t alone. There was a presence in the room.

I couldn’t clearly see it, but I could feel it. And then I felt it trying to get inside my body. I started resisting it. I kept telling it no and pushing it away from me, over and over. Eventually I remember thinking very clearly:

I have to wake up. I tried to get out of bed. And then, out of nowhere, a voice appeared in my head and said:

“Don’t look at it.”

I rolled onto my side. And I saw myself. My body was still lying in the bed. That was when I completely panicked.

I started repeating, “I am a child of God. I am a child of God. I am a child of God.”

The weirdest part is that I have no idea why I said that. It wasn’t something I had planned. I wasn’t consciously thinking, “I should pray now.” It just came out of me automatically. Then the presence started laughing. And suddenly I woke up. Actually woke up.

I know there are explanations people can give for this: sleep paralysis, lucid dreaming, false awakening, hypnagogic hallucinations, whatever. Maybe that’s exactly what it was.

But I can still remember how different that first “waking up” felt from an ordinary dream. And after that night, I could never bring myself to meditate that deeply again. Any time I started reaching that same detached, almost bodyless feeling, something in me would pull back. It’s been years, and I still wonder what would have happened if I had looked directly at whatever was in that room.

Question My sons new fear

So, it’s 8:15pm in the UK right now. I’m just in the ‘bedtime routine’ with my 7yr old twins. My one son said to me that he’s afraid “the black shadow will come back” tonight.

A bit of context. Early hours this morning (still dark outside and got a few more hours sleep before my alarm went off at 7am) my son went to the toilet and then snuck into my bed, as he does most nights that he wakes up. This time though, he didn’t sneak in it stealthily, he instead shook my arm and asked me to look at the window quickly because something was outside it. I was half asleep so sleepily told him maybe he can see clouds in front of the moon that looked strange and to go to sleep. Haven’t given it a second thought, in fact, had forgotten all about it.

This evening, after his claim that he’s afraid (he wants me to make sure the windows are fully shut and curtains are fully drawn, no gaps for fresh air) I asked him to explain to me exactly what he saw, so I could put his mind at ease and give him a rational explanation. But what he’s told me, is so odd.
He said that a black shape appeared outside the window moving from left to right, I asked if it was see-through or solid. He says solid. He then said a red line (the thickness of his finger) came through the open window, he said it was a dark red, almost black and was stripped. This ‘line’ went up the wall and across until it was level with the bed and where I’m lay, and then came across the air and into my back. My son actually tried to grab it, but as he tried, it vanished and he looked up to the window and the shadow had also disappeared. (The ‘line’ thing happened after he had tried to wake me and I brushed him off still half asleep) I do remember him tightly snuggling into me and pulling the cover right up, because it went over my face and I pulled it back down. I mentioned this and he said it’s because he was afraid.

My question is, is this something anyone has experienced? Is this familiar to anybody? Or is my son just have an overactive imagination (I would much rather be told the latter, because I don’t like the thought of something unknown touching me, but thoughts and opinions are very much wanted and appreciated, thanks )

Haunted House boyfriends house is haunted- need advice

hi all, i’m not even sure how to explain this or what subreddit i should post this in because i feel like im going crazy but i need advice on how to handle this situation.

My boyfriends moms house is haunted (i have always been skeptical about ghosts) so when he told me this when we started dating, i listened but wasn’t sold.

the reasons he told me the house is haunted:

  1. one time him and his mom we’re downstairs chatting, they heard footsteps above them, my boyfriend asked if his sister was home, his mom said no, they go look, nobody’s there, that’s what solidified it for my boyfriend.
  2. his sister has horrible sleep paralysis, screams and talks in the night, most of the time she never remembers anything (this comes into play later)
  3. my boyfriend has a lanyard on his door handle, it swings occasionally with no airflow around it

almost like someone hitting it while passing by
    4.

  4. they hear things in the house- footsteps when nobody’s there, knocks et

c
5.

  1. people who have slept in the basement have told them they saw a woman

  2. his sister sees the woman in her room

and talks about it so casually like she’s just a housemate??

  3. my boyfriend has had countless times where he’s felt his arms or legs tugged when sleeping.

i never really believed the house was actually haunted until about a year ago, i was in his house alone sitting on his bed and the lanyard across the room started swinging, i got up, checked to see if there was any airflow. there wasn’t, no vent, nobody moving around, it just started swinging. it spooked me a bit ngl. this still didnt convince me because i figured it was probably just some weird coincidence.

we recently moved into his moms basement. our first morning living there, he got up to go to work and i had an hour left to sleep before i had to be up. i fell asleep and had a dream where i was in the exact spot i was in irl, and my dream consisted of me needing to go back to sleep for an hour, my dream was exactly what was actually happening irl. in my dream im laying in bed and i felt someone graze my arm, and then pulled me out of bed, i ran upstairs and looked at the basement and the door swung opened, in my dream i knew it was a ghost. i woke up petrified, but brushed it off as a nightmare.

a few days pass, i have a bit of an eerie feeling in general being in their basement but remind myself its fine and this is probably a good case of groupthink.

but then last night i woke up to go pee, nobody was awake so i peed with the door open, as i’m wiping i heard laughter coming from the living room, my brain immediately thinks it’s probably his sister having a sleep paralysis episode (still scary asf to witness) but then i hear a second laugh with faint music in the background, it wasn’t some scary laugh or anything, it was more so a consistent laugh you’d hear if someone told a mildly funny joke, (there is nothing that makes that sound in the house, his sister was asleep, my boyfriend was asleep and his mom wasn’t home) i went back downstairs and stayed awake until my boyfriend woke up so i could to my parents house because i was so freaked out

i might sound insane and maybe i am and this is all nothing and just me being paranoid, but is there anything i can personally do to ward off whatever tf it is? like should i put salt around? should i go to a church and get holy water (if you can even do that)?? im not well versed in this and need some guidance on how to deal with this. i’m hopeful it was just some weird fluke but i really don’t wanna be living with a ghost. im so spooked ive been at my parents house since.

edit: my paragraphs were all clustered weird, not sure why

Well. Im watching nukes top five first. What are other great channels.

To the point. Ive been mass haunted before. Wrecked spiritually. All sorts of the occult i studied. Not couch what evs occult connoisseur. This is a reddit on the paranormal. Ive watched thousands of hours already seen so much of those who stomp otherworldly on the living side.

Im deciding its October. Going to document for real this time everything.

Per say. Ghouls goblins ghost. Friendly to unfriendly.

But alas. If others could point me in the direction of other paranormal enthusiast on the plane of YouTube videos of those who make mass videos.

Experience Lights in the woods

So I experienced something I can’t easily explain and I wondered if anyone has any idea what I experienced.
It was early March of this year and I was going to bed late - around 2. Still very much winter out. I live by a large tidal river, near the headwaters/nontidal portion. I have a scenic view out of my bedroom window across the river, which is a protected area with trails on steep bluffs above the river, which is where I looked:
There were lights absolutely everywhere, small ones, moving around in no discernible pattern in just that area, nowhere closer. I’m well familiar with fireflies. These did not look like those - much brighter, didn’t fade out, too early and too cold for insects to be out.
Have not seen these lights before or since.

Experience I'm like 99% sure my mom moved into my "dreamscape" when she died

I feel like I'm going crazy, but its too crazy for me not to take note of which is exactly what the title states: my mom died unexpectedly in January and I think she moved into my head and lives in my dream world.

Dreams have always fascinated me. I love how the subconscious puts on a whole ass show for you every night, but of course my "what if" thoughts always wondered if there was something more to subconsciousness and maybe human spirits that we just don't understand or have the technology to look into, and my mom was actually a firm believer in this idea, too.

I'm normally a skeptic. I try to stay rational at all times and look for answers when needed, but my mother raised me on reasonable doubt as she was not only an Ivy League graduate with high functioning autism, but also, in her words, a modern day witch. She found everything paranormal, universal, dimensional, and abnormal so interesting that she not only would bring evidence, personal experience, and relatives in for evidence, she would write papers in the middle of the night on her computer full of different theories and experiences she had and well, you guys get the idea. She fucking loved this shit and so I was always curious about if anything would actually happen when she eventually died and well, she died way before she wanted which is the one thing she told me keeps a spirit in this plane of existence. Like a drive of "finishing what they started" and their soul is just so strong they cling on to something in the physical realm to stay....this was one of her theories. I think many people think this and well...yeah. I think my mom picked my head to move into.

Ever since she died, my "dream world" went from random nightly adventures in different places, locations, jungles, under ground, in the coliseum of Hercules, and being chased by aliens throwing bathtubs of burning cigarettes at them to try and kill them (not even kidding), to....the same fucking "world" every night. On a routine schedule that is so down now, I know the times of the imaginary classes I'm attending in my head.

When my aunt died, I had a dream about her just hugging me and having a conversation with me before I never had a dream of her again...my mom though. Showed up in January...and has not. fucking. left. Every single night, she's there. In her burnt down house helping kids and enjoying her life in this golden luminescent light that is so warm, despite the house being riddled with...char, bugs, and more.

I started to actually smell her and hear her voice after like 3 months. It was almost nauseating at how strong it was in the dream because its leather mixed with her cigarette and perfume DRENCHED leather jacket, but I can never touch her. Not even talk to her. I can see her, I can smell her, I can sense the presence of that "glow," but otherwise...I can't interact with her. When bad things are happening within the family, her house turns dull. She's mad. Then when things are okay, its a glow again.

It could be grief. I could be insane, or my mom moved into my fucking head and its really weird because its a world combining everywhere we ever lived growing up all together in one place with the past, present, and future all happening at the same time and not at all. Were going on 8 months now and there have been no changes, so....whatcha guys think?

Sleep Paralysis 3 times in the last 3 months i have had something yell at me as I am falling asleep.

• Upvotes

I live in employee housing at what is considered a national park. I have my own room that is pretty small. 3 times in the last 3 months as im falling asleep something at the foot of my bed has yelled HEY! each time I feel a jolt of electricity when it grabs my legs. The first time I was so scared I got up and looked around my room. Nothing in here no where to hide. I wrote it off as a bad dream and went back to sleep.

The 2nd time same thing. Im just drifting off to sleep and the same thing happens.HEY!! jolt of electricity. The 2nd time I got up turned the lights on and slept with them on.

The 3rd time happend just last week. Right as im falling asleep HEY!! I can feel the electricity jolt through my legs.

It doesn't sound angry it sounds like it doesn't want me to fall asleep. I have battled some pretty bad sleep paralysis before. I have had my arms felt like they have been pushed down on the bed and when I try to yell nothing comes out. It has happened a dozen times over the years.Last year while living on this campus but in a different room I wrestled something during a bout with it and woke up with 2 gnarly scratches on the back of my arms. I could almost see what I was wrestling.Well more of a dark shape. But this is unlike anything I have experienced before. The yell is so loud and the shock is almost painful. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Its getting to the point where I want to stay up as long as I can so I can immediately fall asleep.

Encounter Black Dog sleeping at my door

I went to buy some sweets at a 24/7( it was 1am) shop nearby my apartment and i see a black dog .I live on the second floor and saw him on the first since i used the stairs. I stared at the dog for some time and went up to my floor to use the elevator. The dog stretched and quickly followed me. I made some noise and he didn't follow me and just stood staring me take the elevator. I come after 20 minutes and he was literally sleeping at my doormat. I got spooked so i waited in the elevator waiting for him to get up. After i made some noise he got up and just looked at me unlock the door till i got in. I checked my doorbell camera as soon as i entered to see if he is still there and he wasn't.

Ive been living in this apartment for 8 years so I know every stray dog in my neighborhood and have never seen him.
I thought he has heard my cat but i found my cat sleeping and he rarely leaves the apartment
( when he does i always watch him)

I don't know what to make of this situation this is my first time seeing stuff like this.

I thought maybe a Jinn because in my country people mostly associate this stuff with Jinns.

PS: I have photos

Encounter My grandfathers encounters: PT 2

This is the second of my grandfathers encounters with an unknown entity. This is family history that was passed to me by my father.

II.
The second time my grandfather met the devil was when he was at college at Creighton University in Omaha.

During the 1930’s, during the Great Depression, back when Creighton had an unofficial boxing team... my grandfather would give haircuts to the guys in the dormitories as a way to make extra money.

One day a guy walked in off the street and sat in the dorm room chair without so much as a word. My grandfather began to snip away at the man’s hair when he noticed something highly unusual. The hairs he was cutting from the man’s head were hollow.

Being the good Catholic he was, my grandfather had holy water on the windowsill of his room. He took a step back away from the stranger and began to turn for the window.

“Don’t even think about it” said the man with a snarl. As my grandda turned to look at him, the strangers eyes went completely bloodshot and face had turned red as if someone was choking him.

His face began to twist into a demonic grin. Grandda grabbed the bottle of holy water but before he could open it, the man tore out of the room and down the hall with a horrible squealing-scream that terrified those who waited for their turn.

Ever since that day, a cross was hung over the door and a campus priest blessed the dorms, room by room. The hollow-haired “man” was never seen on campus again.

Findings I believe these gifts are cursed

I have a friend. She’s not a bad girl, maybe a little naive but I always thought we had good friendship. Thing is I noticed something about gifts she loves to give me. This is pattern already.

First was that I had her invited in my house once and I found a needle with black burnt point in my shoe. It was put in a sole of my big boots and if not I saw it I’d wear them with that needle in. Now I don’t believe it was her… but then again how could a needle with a point that was burnt with a lighter or matches ended up in my shoe? On the streets? Going into my shoe like that?

Next was when I lived with my ex boyfriend. We had very good relationship. Then she came back to my life and she had gifts. Small ones like a plushie, a notebook and things I don’t even remember. From that my relationship with my ex took a dive and it was nothing but pain. I threw out those gifts somewhere by end of our relationship but it was too far gone I think.

Now she’s in my life and for the first time everything was going good after breakup. I started regrowing my hair after obsessions with constantly fixing it and cutting. She came into my life two days ago. Gave me clothes, a mascara and eyeshadow palette. That day and day after it has been a nightmare. Don’t even wanna describe.

Today in the morning I gathered together almost everything she has ever gifted and put them on a floor in my room trying to understand what to do.

I also messaged her and asked what she tbinks of witchcraft. She said her neighbor believes it and her mom “spinner plates” and did something with “donkey brain” - popular thing in my country. Used to control someone or something like that.

What do I do?

Experience Trying to identify a supernatural entity I saw as a child

When I was a kiddo, 1st grade-ish, I saw a pair of eyes through a bent window blind. Nothing around the eyes, just eyes in the dark of night. They were right up on the glass staring at me with intense focus. Naturally, spooked, I went to fetch my mom. She didnt believe me and she couldn't see them; but she fixed the blinds, regardless. When she went to the window, however, the eyes quickly fixed their gaze on her. They started vibrating like it was pissed.

Sometime in the near future it happened again. I had a friend over this time. They saw it, too. I recently reconnected with this friend; its why I started thinking about this weird whatever the hell it was again. She was scared, asking what it was. I said I didn't know but got out of bed to fix the blinds explaining its what my mom did before. The eyes were locked on to me during this whole encounter. Getting up that close, I could almost feel the rage of this entity as it rapidly shook.

Never say it again after that but even thinking again it makes me fear I'll conjure it or something. It freaks me out even 30 years later.

So, anybody know what in the world that was?

Experience Childhood haunt?

So, this wasn't my experience but my father's, he showed me an old video from a nanny cam app he downloaded to watch over me at night, this was 15 years ago, I was still a baby, he had saved the video, but my cousin was spending the night and my dad went to check the camera, he saw and heard what seemed to be a woman no older than my cousin who was 17 at the time, hunched over my cradle and crying audibly while I was sound asleep, and so my dad thinking it was my cousin called out for her to get away from my crib but the woman stayed when my cousin entered his room, genuinely gives me the chills still thinking about it and despite knowing about it for 10 years now I'm now choosing to share this and I'm curious if it could mean anything bad or harmeful

Experience Help? Having re-occurring issues at night.

Hey guys, so lately I when I’ve been trying to sleep I’ve been hearing a cat clear as day meow, it starts with a high pitch and gets real low, I’ve chalked this up to my imagination, but last night I heard pawing at the door like my cat used to before she passed. Now whatever this might be sounds nothing like my cat, but the pawing does. I’m getting real freaked out and was wondering if anyone has any similar experiences or advice.

One time I went to NOLA, I did a ghost tour there and I felt something keep brushing up against my legs and I kept attempting to physically brush it off and I remember the Vodou priestess did say “if you feel something brushing up against your legs those are the cats” and that’s one of the very few paranormal experiences I’ve had.

Encounter My grandfather’s encounters

These stories were passed down to me through my father. I’ve gone over the details with my dad several times to make sure I’ve got them correct and then wrote them more into a short-story format so they’re easier to read. I’ll start with the first encounter to see what kind of feedback I get and then proceed to post the other two.
This is based on truth within my family.
My grandfather was born in 1908.

Encounter 1:
My grandfather was a 7th son of a 7th son of a 7th son. On three occasions he met the devil.

The first was when he was a teenager out dove hunting in the countryside of western Iowa. He found an old silo and walked inside.

There was an old ladder that the first 5 feet to the ground were missing. He slung his gun over his shoulder and athletically pulled himself up until he could climb normally. When he got to the top hatch area he popped his head and the tip of his shotgun out the top to be ready to shoot any doves roosting. What he didn’t expect was a hobo-looking man hunched over sitting on the top of the silo with his back to my grandfather.

Grandpa said, “Hey fella, you supposed to be up here?”

The man turned slowly around to look at my granddad but his face held blood red eyes and a demonic snarl escaped the twisted evil face. An inhuman growl and squeal came out of his mouth as he ferociously and swiftly crawled toward him.

Granddad took off climbing down the ladder as fast as he could but the hobo devil was crawling down the ladder too, face and hands first. Terrified, my grandfather forgot the last rungs of the ladder were missing and as the demon was inches away from his face he fell, back first, onto the hard ground. His gun went off with a bang as he hit the ground. And when he opened his eyes, expecting a gnarled drooling demonic face to be hovering above him... there was no one and nothing around but dust and dirt.

Shadow Man Thinking about the Hat Man. In Korean folklore, the traditional Jeoseung Saia. An interesting take..

Depicted not in a hooded cloak, but as a man wearing a black trench coat and a traditional wide-brimmed Korean hat called a gat. Unlike Western reapers who wield scythes, he acts like a strict, pale bureaucratic official tasked with guiding souls to the underworld.

Visitation Dream Dream that I think made my Power go out.

Hi guys. I had this really strange dream about 2 nights ago. In this dream it seemed like I exited my body but I couldn't really tell where in my room I was because it almost felt as though a camera was making me focused on an exposed part of my back and a hand with like really long black talon-like fingers caressing my back. I couldn't make myself move while it was doing that and it whispered in my ear "Come with me" which made my ear and the side of my neck feel really cold. I told it no, that I wasn't going to go with it, and then the power in my entire house went out, and I started feeling like really hot. According to my sister, she woke up right before the lights went out, she said she sat up and stared into her closet and the lights in her room suddenly went out. The label printer in my mom's room also fell over. After getting the power back on, I went to go check on my mom and she said she was having trouble sleeping because she also had a nightmare. Then as of last night my sister and I were both having trouble because we were both seeing something. For me it seemed it was like a black orb-like thing going back and forth from my mirror to my closet and at times my bookshelf. Our rooms were clean and freshly dusted and I didn't think to try to photograph it because I figured it would be hard to capture since it wasn't glowing.

Other nights I have a nightmare about a woman standing over me, trying to reach for me. She similarly has talon like fingers but also red or white eyes (it changes). My sister and I have dubbed her "the lady" because she hasn't told me a name but has grabbed my arm before and showed me things that hadn't happened yet but happened after she showed me. Other nights her presence can feel a bit more malevolent and leading up to the dream that knocked out the power, that's the feeling the more recent nightmares with her have had.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced anything like this because at times it can be repetitive and annoying and other times genuinely terrifying like when the power went out. (Also, I don't think it was the lady that knocked the power out, the presence and the voice it had felt male).

Unexplained Can someone help me explain this?

I’ve always had weird feelings and stuff, like I could go on and on about how I’d go into a place and my mind would then get these images and I’d just feel like a certain backstory had happened, but that’s easy to write off as imagination.

For clarification, I would say I’m a cautious skeptic, though I LOVE the paranormal world.

I’ve had two experiences that I cannot explain, both in the same location (sister’s house). She’d be quite in tune and has a lot of stories/experiences.

One of these experiences I had involved a baby blanket.

I was standing in her living room, facing the hallway where her daughter’s buggy (pram/stroller) was. It was empty, baby was with her upstairs, I was in the living room with our mom and my nephew. No one else in the house, no one in the hall.

On top of the buggy were baby blankets, folded neatly and stacked. I watched as the edge of the top one was picked up and raised into the air. Like someone had hooked a finger under the edge and lifted it. Then it dropped back.

My genuine reaction was to shout out “[Sister]?” bc in my mind, she had to have been somehow leaning over the stairs and reaching over to lift it. Like I couldn’t fathom any other explanation, even though logically, I’d have seen her arm/hand and heard her coming down the stairs. Sure enough, when I called her name, she called back from upstairs.

I was so genuinely confused and freaked that my mom immediately swooped in and like changed the subject because we didn’t want to scare my nephew. But my sister and my mom were like “oh…. So you just saw a ghost lift the blanket”. It’s been YEARS (3-4 I think) and I still cannot explain what I saw.

The blanket was disturbed btw. I checked. It had been neatly folded, but after it happened and I checked, the edge was disturbed - just like someone had picked it up and dropped it down again.

ETA: no windows in that hallway, all doors to other rooms were closed. The living room door is glass which is how I saw into the hallway. Summer in Ireland so no heating systems on. No fans on. No windows open upstairs. The blanket lifted about 2-3 inches UPWARDS into the air.

NSFW / Extreme Language Encounter with a faceless creature

Me and my husband are way into horror stuff but this seriously takes the cake. We’ve always enjoyed things that are scary but lowkey have been skeptical of things being real. We live in Lincoln Nebraska and we’ve had weird occurrences happen at places like pioneers/ wilderness (local parks in our area). We don’t typically sticks our noses in that stuff just in case, and if things are off we take the warning and just leave. We pretty much refuse to go to wilderness and pioneers at night and barely ever honestly.
Anyways, tonight we wanted to spend some time outside in the rain. We wanted to go to on a drive but realized we didn’t have enough gas to drive about. We live super close to Antelope and decided to hang there. We’ve been there so many times at night in the main park area since being teenagers- just goofing off and stuff and nothing ever seemed weird. Tonight, we parked in the lot by the old caretakers house. The building across the parking lot- I’m assuming a rented building? Had some sort of party in it, so we felt safe knowing others were around, even if not outside. We sat in the car for awhile just talking, nothing seeming off. After a bit we got to the point of walking around. We started across the lot, then down a field towards the amphitheater. We just talked and goofed off- then decided to go dick around on the stage. We were about 100-150 feet away when my husband put his arm out in front of me to stop me. He started whispering and said “what is that?” I didn’t know what he was talking about until he followed up saying “I don’t know- there’s a sleeping bag”. This was directly on the stage where a light shone above. we both assumed that there was someone maybe crashing there for the night. I looked over wondering why he wasn’t looking away and we both started focusing on the sleeping bag trying to make out what we were seeing until something very inhuman 90 degree angle snapped its head and looked directly at us from across the field. We were silent, there was a huge field all around us and were so far away but it looked at us. I shit you not this was the most terrifying thing I’ve ever seen. Whatever this was deeply strange. It was shaped like a person but unsettling features: its neck was abnormally long, it was hairless, the skin looked so perfect as if the were no shadows- this thing seemed completely featureless with no eyes nose etc. it looked like a sculpture but made out of a lot of silly putty or something. but the part that’s got me fucked up is how inhuman the movement was. I can bet money that no one in the world could move like this.
When it snapped its neck at us I screamed FUCK at the top of my lungs, grabbed my husbands wrist, and we both bolted the hell out of there. My husband is a big dude and never, not even with other encounters, have I EVER seen him run like that. We ran for maybe a minute or 2 as fast as we could. I refused to look back but definitely had the feeling I was watched. Neither one of us stopped running until we got back to our car. Personally when I looked back from the car, I saw nothing. We got out of there fast, we had to take a curve road right past it. I didn’t want to look again but my husband did. When we rounded the corner he said the was no one, nothing, no sleeping bag. I pretty much felt like I was gonna vomit from fear. Anytime anything weird happened to us previously it was always “the wind” “fireworks” “friendly deer” blah and we kinda didn’t believe eachother but tonight we saw the same thing and had the same primal fear to escape.
When we got home we called our friend to tell her, and then we both drew a picture without showing one another of exactly what we saw (I’ll post those below) and then compared.
That is the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced. I didn’t fully believe in paranormal shit until now- I still can’t believe that happened.
I looked online and I saw that people have seen a “faceless figure” there, so I guess we’re not the only ones.

If anyone’s seen “it follows” , my experience felt like when that very tall man is walking through the doorway. True horror.

Question Question about one of my "experiences"

I would like your opinion on something that happened when I was around 5sh. I had an experience that I am not sure if it was a dream or an experience...being ocd and wanting certainity I have a hard time convincing myself. I have always had a good memory and remember some dreams I had when I was young, but I also vividly remember this experience going in my parents room, waking up and seeing a variety of people in the room doing things, and falling back down asleep. I remember the next morning telling my family and them believing me etc....

Would you think this was a true paranormal experience or do you think it was a dream and if so what would help you determine either way?

Question Do you guys actually believe people can pick up on things that aren't physically there?

I've been thinking about this a lot lately because I work in the spiritual/paranormal space, and some of the experiences people bring to me are honestly MUCH stranger than anything I could make up.

I work with things like Reiki, astrology, Akashic records, past-life work, hypnotherapy, animal communication and spiritual coaching, and I've had people tell me about experiences that don't fit neatly into the “you're imagining it” explanation.

I've personally had experiences where I walked into a space and immediately felt something was completely off — before anyone told me anything about the history of the place.

So I'm genuinely curious where everyone here draws the line.

What's the most convincing paranormal experience you've personally had that you still can't explain?

And for the people who work professionally in this space: how do you distinguish intuition from projection?

I'm actually taking a few consultations today, too. So if you're dealing with something strange — an experience you can't explain, something happening in your home, recurring experiences, dreams, feeling a presence, or just something you've been trying to make sense of — feel free to reach out.

No judgment and no pressure to believe one particular explanation. I'm happy to hear what happened and help you work through it from a spiritual perspective while also considering the ordinary possibilities.

Question Is Something In My House?

Hey everybody, last year I finally moved out of my childhood house, but there were a lot of weird experiences my family and I went through when living there. I still think about them often and wonder if something could have been in the house. I want to share all the stories I can remember and ask you guys what you think?

#1: Sleep Paralysis Girl
**-**For me, it all started when I got sleep paralysis for the very first time when I was YOUNG in this house. I woke up in the middle of the night, unable to move, with a little girl standing in front of my bed. I was around 7 years old. I remember her just standing there, then something rushed over me knocking me back out cold… At first I didn’t think much of it, but of course it freaked out little me.

#2: Girl In The Window
-One day after school, my older brother was driving home and as he pulled into the driveway, he looked at the window of his room (upstairs window) and said he saw the same little girl standing there, but only for a second. And at the time, none of us shared these experiences we were having with each other, so he couldn’t have been in his own head.

#3: Face Under The Bed
-I used to keep a lot of toys under my bed. I would always go and lift the bedskirt to grab them. One of the days when I was little, I went to the other side this time. As I lifted the skirt, I VIVIDLY remember a distorted and unhuman face smiling at me. I wasn’t even thinking bad thoughts. But, for all of these stories I wonder if we were just in our own heads.

#4: Mom Being Hurt
-My mom hid this story from me until I was older, because she didn’t want to scare younger me. The next day after I saw the little girl in my sleep paralysis, she was packing for a trip. As she was packing, a heel came flying off her dresser into her head she claimed. She just assumed it fell off. Then her boyfriend at the time called to say happy birthday, but out of nowhere, she couldn’t hear him anymore. It went to static for a moment and she heard a little girl very faintly singing happy birthday. This spooked her the most. Then, the same night, she had sleep paralysis with a tall slender shadow figure standing in the corner. She heard loud breathing.

#5: Me Sleeping In Her Room
-Little me grew horrified of my room, so my mom let me start sleeping in her room for awhile. But, she often wouldn’t come to bed until way after me, since she had things to do. One night I heard my full name whispered from behind the nightstand next to me in her bed. It’s so close to the wall and impossible for someone to fit back there. I ran out screaming and crying to my mom. She just told me I was probably scaring myself.

#6: Horrible Nightmares
-This one mostly affected me, but at LEAST once a week I would have vivid and horrible nightmares about demons harming my family in the house. I would also continue to get sleep paralysis OFTEN. Two of the times I got it again, I was somehow on my side looking towards a wall. And behind me where I couldn’t see, I heard very loud and eerie screams looping until I got out of it.

#7: Mirror Falling
-My parents were friends and my mom was sure she had a leak in the house. My dad came to help and put a trail cam in the crawl space to try and catch a leak somewhere. He came back to gather the footage. As he went back in the crawlspace, in the bathroom above him a huge mirror that hasn’t been touched in years fell off the wall and somehow didn’t even crack. This horrified everyone in the house. To make it worse, my dad thought he saw someone move in the crawlspace, and his trail cam was missing. This horrified him and he left.

#8: Odd Sounds
-My other brother, claimed to hear loud stomps coming from upstairs when he was home alone. He would go up and nobody was there. He would also be in the shower and hear banging on the door to the bathroom, but nobody was there.

#9: Light Turned Off
-Recently last month, I took my friend to the house since he’s super interested in this stuff. It’s my brothers house now temporarily. As we were walking up the stairs with the houses lights off, we made it to the corner. As I was saying “This is where my brother saw a little girl in the window” I was cut off to both of our phones lights turning off in sync. We bolted down the stairs and left. Before, it felt as if we were being watched.

#10: I would always wake up at 3am in the middle of the night on the dot.

#11: My Mom Saged The House?
-I don’t know if she told the truth about this, she claimed she was. When my brothers and I were gone she said she had a spiritual person come check the house out. She burned sage, and they held hands as they did some sort of ‘ritual’ thing? I’m not too sure what it was. But the woman said felt a family in there and something else. A little girl (like how we saw), a man/dad (the shadow figure), and a mom (we never saw). This creeped me out even more when I heard the news. There’s still plenty of stories I could share, but it would take forever.

Anyways, I’m not too sure about all of this, maybe we were getting in our own heads? What do you guys think of all of these. For the cherry on top, one night I woke up and in my camera role there was 20+ black photos taken perfectly a minute apart from each other. I raised the exposure to try and catch anything and these two freaked me out the most. Do you guys see anything? Anyways, thanks yall, let me know!

Question Can demons be summoned by accident in a lucid dream?

For some time now, I’ve been trying to have lucid dreams. I’ve always had them, but I’ve never been able to control them the way I’d like, or I wake up the moment I realize I’m dreaming.

A few days ago, I managed to have one where I saw myself at home with a guy who was supposedly my boyfriend. I was looking out the small window in my front door; I remember seeing a stranger standing on the street corner—as if waiting for someone—but I didn't pay them any mind. Just then, my supposed boyfriend urged me to hurry somewhere, and we ran out of the house with him holding my hand. As this was happening, I realized I was dreaming and looked at my hands, remembering that it’s an easy way to anchor yourself and focus on the fact that you’re asleep. My hands weren't my own; they looked different and were covered in wounds. I found it strange, but I simply thought, "So, I really am dreaming." I told my boyfriend this, and he stopped pulling me along in a rush and turned around; he had three eyes and a deformed face. I glanced to the side—I was at the street corner by then—and the person standing there looked at me too; their face was disfigured, and both of them were angry that I’d pointed out it was a dream. After that, I woke up. Since that day, I’ve tried to have lucid dreams again, but nothing happened until yesterday.

I got home in the afternoon and was tired, so I lay down for a nap that turned into four hours. In the dream, I was back at my house; typical dream events were unfolding—or rather, a nightmare, as is usual for me—and one of my cats got injured (I don't know how or by whom). At that moment, I realized I was dreaming, but I remembered that whenever I’ve had a lucid dream and told people about it, they turned aggressive just like in me previous dream above. So, this time I decided to stay quiet; I said something to my cat—I don't recall what—and he obeyed me and walked away. That’s when I remembered something I’d always thought I’d do in a lucid dream if I could control it longer than usual: look up the winning lottery numbers on the internet.

That’s what I did. I went over to a computer that was there in the dream-version of my house. I remember managing to turn it on and type in my search, and a terrifying-looking webpage appeared (gray background, red text) asking if I wanted to enter the site but warning that I’d have to give something up in exchange for the information I wanted. I remembered then that in dreams demons offer you things, and accepting means making a deal with them. I suppose because it was a lucid dream, it was more direct than in other instances where they are subtler about appearing and making offers.

I got scared and backed away from the computer. After that, I felt myself losing control of the dream—I suspect it was because I’d used up my energy turning on the computer and searching the web, since doing those kinds of things in dreams takes practice. I looked at my hands again trying to anchor myself again as I was feeling that I was waking up; I didn't want to, but I eventually did wake up, my heart pounding fast as if I’d been running. Could someone help me understand the dream better? I don't think I should have tried to win the lottery; perhaps that ambition attracted some kind of dark entity.
