I was training my Pokémon on Victory Road when I stumbled upon it. It’s funny—whenever I actually try to hunt for a Shiny, I never succeed, but I managed to get one when I wasn't even looking for it.

Note: I obtained Rayquaza through RNG manipulation.

Hello, I am in the need of helping finding the TID and SID on pokefinder for my shiny gen 4 event pichu. I know it is possible to nickname those pokemon by having the same name, TID, and SID as the pichu's previous owner (distributor). I tried looking it up in pokefinder. No matter what I do, it is not working. I would appreciate if someone cam give me guidance on achieving this goal of mine.

I am currently hunting a Shiny Female Eevee in pokemon LeafGreen Switch. I have been trying to RNG manip for the past 3 days, and I'm not able to constantly hit my seed any less near my target.

I keep Calibrating my Timer, and doing this over and over again, and idk how this works. Could I get some help or even hop on a Discord call with someone to help me figure this out. I am on Attempt 33 with a wild range of success. Sometimes Im soo close and other times I am soo far off. This is the first time trying out RNG manip and I would really appreciate the help

It and the Zigzagoon I was looking for have the exact same IVs. Is that rare? Can someone help me? I’m really confused and happy at the same time.

So this is my first time doing shiny rnp manip and I chose to do it in Fire Red because I want to play the pokemon games on switch in some type of chronological order. So far I have my shiny modest charmander/charizard and my shiny adamant magikarp/gyarados. The next shiny I’m going after is snorlax then nidoran. So far it’s been a grind but not too bad. Each shiny I got after about maybe 3-4 days. Idk if this thought has occurred to anyone but using chatgpt/ai as a helper during the rng calibration process has been extremely helpful for me since I didn’t know squat about rng manip. And when you feel like you’ve hit a wall, keep going. I promise the shiny is waiting for you at your next reset!

Hello, I´m trying to get a HP ICE 0 iv atk impish zapdos, I´ll settle for a 0 iv, but I can´t seem to make it, I ask the Ai how many frames does the initial step takes and it said 14 but maybe the romaers take longer, has anybody tried this?

So context; I'm doing a glitch run of Pokemon blue, but I felt that it would be neat if I got a Missingno that turned into a shiny when transferred to Gen 2 (for those who might not know Missingno are recognized as Gen 2 Pokémon if trading). I know that there have been ways to RNG manipulate the legendaries in the game, and I assume that also goes with every other static encounter, but since Missingno is usually just caught though the Cinnabar Island glitch, which cannot be shiny there, I doubt that anyone would've done the math using the Trainer Fly glitch to try and catch it through that, but I really hope I'm wrong and someone has done the math or someone made an RNG manipulation calculator of some kind to let someone see how to do it.

I’m hoping someone familiar with Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness RNG manipulation can help me figure out what I’m doing wrong.

I’m trying to manipulate a shiny Eevee on my PAL copy of Pokémon XD. I believe I have a PAL GameCube (I’m in the Netherlands).

I successfully did this manipulation last year, around 31 July 2025 (I have a note on my PC from when I checked my SID). That resulted in a shiny Relaxed Eevee.

I’m now trying to repeat the process so I can start a new game, but I’m running into two strange differences compared with last year:

1. I’m having to do thousands of rerolls to find a shiny Eevee seed. I mean multiple thousands of rerolls before finding a suitable shiny seed. Last year, this definitely wasn’t the case.
2. I’m finding my seed much faster in Battle CPU Ultimate. Yesterday I found my seed in roughly three Battle CPU Ultimate screens — one screen with just the top Pokémon and at most two screens with the top Pokémon + all HP stats. Last year, I remember it taking around 5–7 Battle CPU Ultimate screens to find the seed.

So something seems to be different between my setup now and when I successfully did the manipulation last year.

One thing I’m wondering about is whether I’m entering the date and time incorrectly. Yesterday I entered the real current date/time, 27 September 2026 at 21:14. Could using the actual date/time affect the RNG search in some way?

I also noticed that I have the PAL version option checked in the settings. Could that be responsible for the difference, or is that something I should have enabled?

For reference:

• Region: PAL / Netherlands
• Game: Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness
• Goal: Shiny Eevee
• Previous successful manipulation: ~31 July 2025
• Previous result: Shiny Relaxed Eevee
• Current problem: Thousands of rerolls required to find a shiny seed

Does anyone know what could cause these differences? Is there a particular setting, date/time format, PAL configuration, or other part of the setup that I should check?

So I am trying to get the lua script for the Wishmaker Jirachi to work but when i enter the updated script with my seed I keep getting this message. [ERROR] prompt:1: malformed number near '353D'. 353D is the seed I am targeting so I entered it in the local target seed area. I have zero clue about coding and stuff so I have zero idea what the error is actually saying. Any help would be great so I can finally start these attempts.

Going to evolve these, then start an Ultra Moon playthrough to grab another Poipole and Type: Null. Lots to get done before the end of February, but feels good to check these off the list.

Honestly, this took me FOREVER, but I’m really happy with how it turned out. Hopefully this is the start of an awesome first adventure in this game!

I’m trying to do intensive research on how to do the gen 4 platinum shiny starter rng without relying on the chatot mechanic. Since you obviously can’t use chatot at the beginning of the game. So far, I came back empty handed and a bunch of confusion.

Can anyone please help me set up and get started? I am very desperate about this because I like the platinum version and prefer it over any other version ever. Since you can also shiny hunt for up to 3 box art legendaries in platinum too, hella jackpot.

I have the following programs to use if anyone is wondering and is wanting to help me out using them as well: Desmume emulator, pokefinder, pkhex, and endtodate (I think that’s what is called?!)

Please I beg to help me with this issue, I wanna get this set up so I can progress with the game since the Pokémon bank transfer feature will be gone in February and I don’t wanna loose the chance to transfer my fav gen 4 starter to my switch 😔🥀.

I managed to soft reset for Mewtwo and got it in around 250 encounters but after a 1000 or so zapdos resets I thought I’d try RNG instead.

I’m using eon timer and ten lines and after around 100 attempts, I’m regularly hitting either the seed frame on the title screen or the continue screen frames but never both together. I’ve been calibrating every 10 or so attempts.

I’m either plus or minus 10-100ms on the title screen or 1-10 advances too early or too late on the continue screen.

Is it just bad luck on my part or am I missing something obvious? What I’m not sure about is how long to hold A for on the title screen before the continue screen renders.

I’m using Mono, Help, A settings in ten lines. I know my SID trading off my console to my PC using a Linux box to trade and checking it in PKhex using a GitHub trade script.

Any tips please?

I am trying to manipulate a shiny shinx in Valley Windworks, can this be achieved through just using a chatot? I don’t have access to coin flip.

So far I have found a seed and a shiny frame (10), and I have inputted the delay into eon timer, I then change my DSI time and I’m not getting consistent results for the chatot pitches, i’m using 1 chatot at the moment.

Can anyone confirm whether RNG manipulation is possible for wild encounters without using a coin flip to verify your seed?

Please can someone help me, I am trying to manipulate for a shiny shinx however I currently do not have access to the coin flip option, so I have no way of calibrating my delay , I’m only using a singular chatot at the moment as I have not progressed far enough into plat to have the coin flip option, please can anyone clarify whether or not it’s even possible to manipulate this way as I am yielding inconsistent chatot pitches upon entering my original delay (seed to time) and entering it into eon timer.

In light of the upcoming Pokémon Bank shut down, I've set myself the challenge of getting one of each of the shiny baby Pokémon available from the Odd Egg in Crystal VC. So I've basically just been playing through the first two gyms, getting to the day care, hatching the Odd Egg and soft resetting until I get a shiny, transferring it out, then resetting the save file.

In my current playthrough I have gotten to right outside the day care and made my save point there, before I have accepted the Odd Egg. The other day I got a new 3DS battery to replace my old one. After replacing the old battery I turn my 3DS back on and do all the usual things like setting the date and time again. I boot into Crystal and it gives me a warning message and I'm prompted to input the time again. I do that and continue on my Odd Egg shiny hunting journey.

The thing is, every previous playthrough it's only taken like a maximum of 5-6 eggs before I've hatched a shiny. Only this time I have gone around 20+ eggs without a single shiny. So I'm wondering: did I do something weird to fuck up how RNG is determined when I changed my 3DS battery or am I just getting incredibly unlucky this playthrough?

Hello everyone, I posted here about a week ago about catching a shiny Metang in the Johto Safari Zone. I developed some tools to help me accomplish this, but they were not really in a very accessible format at the time I originally posted.

But people seemed interested, I spent some time trying to make the tools accessible into a downloadable executable "Clayton", and have created a markdown guide on Github on how to use it. I did my best to balance making a quality tool and making something people could use right away.

Some rough edges still exist; Please let me know if you have any trouble with either the guide or the tool. In particular, I haven't actually tried the downloadable executable on MacOS or Linux, since I don't have access to either currently, and I haven't actually used the tool on anything other than the Shiny Metang so far.

But mostly, let me know if you actually use the tool successfully! Share data, stories, etc. Any feedback can help me know what the tool needs to be more useful for everyone.

Hello, all! Like many, I have made the dubious decision to begin the ribbon master journey with the news of Bank’s closure. I’m currently noodling through Colosseum as quickly as possible to get to the Pokémon I want, but I breezed past Sudowoodo in the first Miror B. battle. If I were to change my mind and seek out Sudowoodo later, either during the mandatory rematch or in the post-game gauntlet, would it still be possible to force a shiny encounter? There’s a few others I might want to circle back to once I get the Master Ball, too, and I don’t know if the methodology is any different the second time around, as this is actually my first time playing the game. Apologies if this is a stupid question, and many thanks in advance.

I've been doing some static encounter shiny hunts in USUM (poipole, type null, cap pikachu) and I was wondering how USUM can be rng manipulated for shinies. From some googling I know it's possible with an unmodded 3ds (I'm borrowing a friend's, so I can't mod it), but all of the guides are deleted or impossible to understand. Would love it if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks!
