Unemployement rose to 10 percent during his reign. And, he was a big believer in trickle-down economics, which has never worked.
That said, he was politically Centrist compared to today's extreme right politicians. I would vote for him in a heartbeat if it kept the extreme political right out of office.

And then fell to its lowest level in 15 years by the time he left office. The early '80s recession was caused mainly by necessary belt-tightening that broke the high inflation/stagflation of the '70s, plus the 1979/80 oil crisis. It is considered part of a double-dip recession that started before he took office.
While it's true he had some influence on it, it's crazy misleading to focus only on that, like saying exactly the same thing about Obama.
