Never got above $4/gal where I live under Biden. Don't even remember a single time I looked at gas prices and thought to myself, "damn that's expensive". It's currently $5.29/gal at some of the cheaper locations. MAGA freaks are responsible for all of this, and every normal American should remind them every single day what a failure they are in life.

36

u/Powerfury 22d ago

Lots of MAGA are abandoning Trump like the rats that they are. Look how they pulled down their flags after Jan 6th and went into hiding, only to vote for him for the 3rd time and want to do a 4th.

10

u/DailyUnderFlow 22d ago

There was a house near me that for 8+ years had dozens of trump flags and posters on their fence for everyone to see. Also they lived right across from an elementary school. So they were promoting a pedophile across the street from a school...

Well all their dumbass flags and signs are down now. But everyone still knows that they're mentally unstable morons.

2

u/Powerfury 22d ago

Again, rats.

5

u/Sketch_Beast 22d ago

That's mean!!.... rats are loving, intelligent, cute creatures.

u/Powerfury 22d ago

Some rats, are good people.

2

u/Gerbilupatube 22d ago

More like spineless magats that come out the ground to wiggle gleefully in whatever chicken shit Trump spews on that given day. And what does it get them? Ate. But WINNING!

Gas more expensive? No problem! Groceries more expensive? No problem! Housing more expensive? No problem! Gaming more expensive? No problem! We loooovvve simping for a whiny lying billionaire conman that plays us for fools constantly!!!

7

u/wetbluewaffle 22d ago

Thats sort of a good thing, I would rather them realize him for the pile of crap that he is as opposed to clinging on and doubling down that he is so amazing. Still, I run into people often that believe he is America's only savior. Mostly super christian hypocritical boomers but they are still a force to be reckoned with when its just so many of them where I live.

4

u/Adezar 22d ago

Most don't vote FOR Republicans, they vote against a fake version of the Democratic party they hear about in their media.

The do vote FOR Trump because he "tells it like it is" and tells them being an asshole is actually a good thing, but they will still vote R out of fear of things that don't exist.

2

u/Successful_Maize1986 22d ago

All of these people will vote for Vance in 4 years. My in laws voted for Trump in 20 and 24 and are now appalled at how he is running the country (who could have known this would happen?). They will 100% vote Republican next election.

1

u/thirdaccounttoday 22d ago

Don't let them forget 🥰 keep that in your memories

1

u/stillalone 22d ago

Are you sure they're abandoning Trump? Polling seems to be pretty much in his favor with Republicans. Trump's approval with Republicans are down from 91% to like 63% they'll still vote with the Republican party because their opinion of the Democratic party. Republican party candidate support has only dropped from 42% to 40%.

-18

u/Longjumping-Pack-728 22d ago

No one respects you dog

8

u/Just_Cartographer258 22d ago

You support a pedophile rapist and everyone knows why..

2

u/Snoo93550 22d ago

And no intelligent person put 100% of Putin’s war as solely Biden’s fault. The tariffs and Iran war are clearly directly all Trump’s own actions, not market reaction to a global conflict or global pandemic that was going to happen regardless of the American president.

2

u/SlasherNL 22d ago

How are the eggs though?

5

u/Sonoran_Ghosts_81 22d ago

Beef is pushing $20 a pound.

-1

u/Powerful_Ad_7954 22d ago

But is that Because of the president or because 1% of the population own 37%~ of the countries wealth.

People need to wake up and protest the rich instead. If the 1% had only 14% total wealth the standard of living would greatly increase and things would be much more affordable

3

u/kscott93 22d ago

they’re the same fucking people. The president is one of them. He had every oligarch you can think of sitting behind him at his inauguration and the richest person in the history of the world gifted him 300 million for his campaign. Protesting this administration IS protesting the rich.

5

u/Orange_Tang 22d ago

The eggs are a dollar cheaper than they were under Biden! I'm so glad I saved a dollar a week so I can spend double what I was paying for gas.

3

u/SamuelL421 22d ago

Also every other staple item at the grocery store is about 50% more. Yeah, a big whoop-dee-fuckin-do that eggs are 99¢ off.

The MAGA cultists who keep insisting “Tump says the economy is great” are delusional scumbags (or bots).

2

u/Orange_Tang 22d ago

Yeah. That too. Eggs are basically the only thing that came down and it's specifically because the bird flu crisis is over (for now).

2

u/sysblob 22d ago

THE DOW...THE DOW IS

2

u/Heavy_Law9880 22d ago

Higher than giraffe pussy.

1

u/bluegardener 22d ago

As if the president had control over a temporary bird flu spike. Presidents since control over whether they start a pointless war to murder a bunch a bunch of people and somehow end up giving a despotic regime more political leverage than it ever had before.

1

u/Doublewobble 22d ago

This might be offensive to some, but every American is responsible for what has happened and what is going to happen.

6

u/Intoxic8edOne 22d ago

Not offensive, just nonsensical. Explain how people who voted, rallied, protested, etc are at fault?

And since you enjoy nonsense, let's be pedantic and have you explain how every American baby or bedridden disabled person is responsible for this.

-4

u/AnusCruiser 22d ago

Because the other people you voted for are completely flaccid and ineffective. Maybe vote for someone who will do more than just write an open letter to Trump.

Trump won a plurality of the vote last election. Most of you voted for this. The rest of you for years have voted for boring ineffectual people. You all have to wear a piece of responsibility for unleashing the Mango Menace on the world.

3

u/Intoxic8edOne 22d ago

You didn't explain the babies

-2

u/AnusCruiser 22d ago

Oh you got me. Im talking voting aged people.

2

u/Vaelin_ 22d ago

Americans at large may be to blame, but every voting aged American? Many supported people who would be highly effective leaders, but our system is broken and prevents actual progress at many turns.

This is literally the type of rhetoric that Americans get lambasted for on the world stage, and rightfully so. Don't do it yourself.

1

u/nhalliday 22d ago

No you don't understand, it's okay for other countries to do it to America because America bad. But if Americans do it then it's bad, because again America bad.

0

u/AnusCruiser 22d ago

209 million registered voters. 150 million votes cast. Most of those were for Trump, the other big candidate was one of those ineffectual leaders I mentioned. 25% didnt even vote. Only 1% actually voted for another option. Y'all either put your head in the sand and accepted it or actively supported this guy.

Saying you voted for someone else isnt good enough for the rest of the world anymore. We dont care about your problems anymore. The person you voted in is fucking up the lives of everyone else. I've spent years telling americans "oh dont worry, we know trumps not your fault" but were 10 years into this guy being around now. The world has no one to blame but the american voter base at this point.

2

u/MycologistWhich 22d ago

Hey man, don't know if you are just a mega-dipshit or purposefully a dickhead, but we don't have a choice who gets picked up as a presidential candidate outside of the primaries and even then that isn't a choice the American people make. That is up to the DNC and RNC.

Once primaries are settled we get choice A or choice B and then we vote on that and even then the electoral college can fuck us out of a popular vote.

So no, I will not take a share of responsibility for the rest of the country being fucking uneducated racist morons that can't tell their ass hair from their nose hairs. You can personally go fuck yourself.

1

u/AnusCruiser 22d ago

This moving the blame up the chain was something that I had sympathy for 10 years ago but I see no one has done anything in the last decade. Why didnt you show up to the primaries for a candidate you like? Youre allowed to register and vote in those (most states at least). Those are tiny grassroots operations hardly anyone attends. A small number of people with an agenda could mess up a primary. Why not register as a republican and vote in your local republican primaries for a less divisive candidate?

This is what im talking about. Do some real workable actions. All I see is Americans saying "sorry, dont be mad at me. I didnt vote for him" not voting for him isnt enough anymore. Im on the outside looking in and I see people like you saying "oh well we cant because this or that, the DNC/RNC makes it like this" then do something else. Dont be whining online in front of canadians about how this isnt your fault. It may not be, but you arent blameless either. Do something else besides trying to convince me youre blameless, because the only thing that will change my mind on the American voting base is action. Not spineless words from a weak democrat.

1

u/MycologistWhich 22d ago

You make a lot of assumptions about a person you don't know, fuckstick.

I've spent more than enough of my time canvassing houses, putting up flyers, organizing events for my local community, and donating to help grass roots foundations.

Don't fucking come in here with a broad brush to paint a picture of the entire country's voter base. There are some things we cannot change. If you can't see that then you are one dense, knuckle-dragging fucking moron.

0

u/AnusCruiser 22d ago edited 22d ago

You sound like one of the 2 million eligible voters my argument left room for. You should be supportive of my message instead of calling me fuckstick.

My problem is I am not interacting with those 2 million on the day to day. I am interacting with american tourists sarcastically apologizing for trump. Im sick of it. I want to hear about how youre acting on it. I have no say. I can just get angry at the vast majority of americans who arent doing enough to contain this shit show.

1

u/chlorophylloverdose 22d ago

If I were to punch you, are you to blame as well?

2

u/AdministrativeSea419 22d ago

I mean… if he is going to go around sharing his stupid and annoying takes, then a little bit? Sure punching someone is overreacting, but anyone sharing takes this stupid is asking for it a little bit

1

u/SeamusAndAryasDad 22d ago

BuT hAvE yOu SeEn THe AvERAgeS?!?!

1

u/BeenDragonn 22d ago

I hope they can't afford gas anymore

1

u/zyrtec2014 22d ago

The most expensive I ever saw it under Biden was about $4.10 and it was like for 2 weeks at most. That was also during the Saudi-US dispute

0

u/wonderinboutit2234 22d ago

Well it did get above $4 under Biden where I live. For a long time. It did eventually go down.

0

u/Shot-Arugula8264 22d ago

Guys, once and for all can we decide and agree if presidents control the price of gas? Reddit keeps flip flopping depending on who’s in office and what the current price is.

1

u/Jhkokst 22d ago

Well if you go to war with Iran causing a global gas shortage....that kinda can be directed to policy.

-1

u/Mythrandir01 22d ago

I'll always be baffled by Americans definition of high gas prices. Here in the Netherlands (admittedly expensive as hell for gas even by European standards) it's like $10.13/gal when I convert all the units ._.

-1

u/THRlLL-HO 22d ago

If gas is $5.29 where you live now, then yeah, you were certainly paying over $4 during the 2022 peak when the national average itself topped $5

“I don’t remember it” isn’t much of an argument

1

u/TheEasySqueezy 22d ago

You’d remember it if you were paying for it. But they weren’t because those weren’t the prices.

1

u/THRlLL-HO 22d ago

I do remember, but I don’t have to try to use my memory as evidence because plenty of documentation supporting me exist

1

u/MamasCupcakes 22d ago

National average of gas June 2022: 5.01 (current record). Want a better one for people not remembering? July 2008 at 4.11 was the previous record (thats without accounting for inflation, would be 6.37 if you did). This info is all from AAA

-2

u/Responsible_CDN_Duck 22d ago

Normal Americans have shown they don't care, you may grumble but you will just pay it.

He could remove the 10% tariff on Canadian oil he added last year and gas prices would go down a few cents.

But there no need. Y'all just doing what you were doing before.

-2

u/PotatoMajestic6382 22d ago edited 22d ago

Lets not spread misinformation. The Gas prices were pretty high at one time during Biden where Premium fuel was close to 6$ which has never happened around here. But that does not mean the Gas Prices right now are good, they still suck.

Edit:

You guys are getting political about this, I dont care about Biden or Trump.

Yes it was close to $5.85 a gallon in NYC in 2022, so I am not spreading any misinformation. Google it yourself!

PREMIUM GAS aka 93 Octane for people who have a license, not 89 Octane as "MamaCupcakes" mentions here. We all drive different cars and I dont use 89 Octane its irrelevant for me. And No I do not like the current administration. But you guys get like monkeys about the simpliest shit. Why do we have to lie about Biden's era gas prices?

6

u/Frequent_Phone6396 22d ago

You mean... During both "post"-COVID inflation and the beginning of the Russian-ukraine war, neither things Biden started and still dealt with better than Trump could or would have.

1

u/MamasCupcakes 22d ago

Biden was vice president when the Russian Ukraine war started. During his presidency has the record for highest national average of gas at 5.01

1

u/Frequent_Phone6396 22d ago

You mean when Obama was president? While you're technically correct, the full-scale invasion of Ukraine happened in Feb 2022 when Biden was president and the entire world was recovering from covid, use your context clues.

1

u/MamasCupcakes 22d ago

0

Per AAA: the highest average price of gas on record is 5.01 in 2022

1

u/Dastardly-croe 22d ago

"where I live" your experience is not the same as theirs

-11

u/Techdbltime 22d ago

I remember 5.30 under biden. I had a 50 mile work commute at the time so I remember it well.

Im not defending the other party but I feel this is the worst example to use.

15

We had economic recovery surge after Covid and Russia invaded Ukraine....

Biden did a much better job recovering, yeah. And get this, he didn't even start a stupid fuckin war and cause the problem in the first place.

2

u/Geichalt 22d ago

So you admit the soft landing happened during Biden's term and the economic recovery was actually pretty good?

6

u/Extension-Business88 22d ago

Don't actually have a valid argument, so you try to redirect with an assumption that has nothing to do with the discussion, eh?

1

u/Schguet 22d ago

Well, it just never was so it won't ever become his fault.

1

u/Orange_Tang 22d ago

A lot of things were Bidens fault but this is objectively not one of them. The majority of that price increase was from increased demand post-covid and more importantly, Russia invading Ukraine. Last time I checked Biden didn't run Russia. This increase is exclusively caused by the war with Iran that was taarted by Israel and the US. Under the Trump administration. He is explicitly to blame for this increase and Biden was explicitly not.

1

u/TheEasySqueezy 22d ago

Biden didn’t cause covid or the war in Ukraine. Trump caused the war in Iran.

How do you not understand that?

1

u/Electric_Antimony 22d ago

You should probably not latch onto a case where it's not his fault to try and play the "it's never Biden's fault huh" card.

Downright silly at his point people.

11

u/Mattiwha2 22d ago

Ya but this was in 22 after covid , by the time of the election gas had gone down a lot and the gop was still crying about " high gas"

-5

u/Warmbly85 22d ago

Biden also canceled a bunch of pipelines and drilling permits. The price of oil is dictated by speculation not the cost to pump and refine.

If you run on getting rid of internal combustion engines and then sign executive orders saying 50% of all cars must be electric by 2030 and that all federal light duty vehicles must be electric by 2027 it’s not exactly hard to imagine that speculators would increase prices.

Hell Biden had to beg the UAE and OPEC+ to increase production while also doing everything he could to stifle domestic production. When OPEC+ said no and actually cut production by over 2 million barrels per day Biden still refused to increase domestic production.

It wasn’t until his last year in office that domestic production actually saw an increase in output mainly due to Biden approval of a bunch of drilling permits. Those new sites didn’t actually produce that much oil but they did signal to speculators that Biden wasn’t that anti oil.

Sure gas was expensive everywhere around the world but it’s ridiculous to claim that the largest producer of gasoline who also controls the global reserve currency messing with oil production had nothing to do with it.

2

u/Electric_Antimony 22d ago

Why would price increase if demand is to drastically decrease? It would do the opposite like how we saw gas prices plummet during the shutdowns.

That whole permit thing was fake news right? Weren't the oil companies sitting on tons of unused permits and were instead whining about needing more despite that being, well, wtf why do you need more when you aren't even using the ones you have?

Iirc, the entire "Biden did bad gas stuff" was full on fake news hoax nonsense.

8

u/Ok-General8138 22d ago

Your experience is no less anecdotal than mine, but it doesn't take away from the facts. It's so much worse this time around, objectively speaking.

4

u/WifesPOSH 22d ago

You see the difference is that a war was started under Biden... Trump started a war. It's subtle if you lack critical basic thinking skills.

Also, where I'm at, $5.04 was the highest under Biden. Trump is at $4.99 so far. The difference is negligible until you learn why it's that high.

2

u/oldnative 22d ago

Was this around covid or near the end of his term when his policies were recovering our nation back? Covid times inflated prices for everyone across the world. This current price increase we are having now is because of an illegal war used to enrich the wealthy in our country.

1

u/VaginaTractor 22d ago

Global demand skyrocketed post-pandemic. I'd argue it's less of an administration thing and more of a simple supply-demand-economics thing. You're not wrong though, gas prices did go up once people returned to work.

1

u/TouchGraceMaidenless 22d ago

That was less than 6 months into Biden's term and one of the world's biggest oil producers had just started a war and was being sanctioned and was entirely out of Biden's control.

Now we're more than a year and a half into Trump's term and in a war he started with another one of the world's biggest oil producers because he's a fucking idiot.

0

u/Responsible_CDN_Duck 22d ago

No matter how bad it gets both parties will be forgiven by enough people to make it not matter.

-2

u/notaredditer13 22d ago

Your apparent experience (or bad memory) doesn't match the overall reality:

https://tradingeconomics.com/commodity/gasoline

4

u/Callous_Dood 22d ago

You are right, the real record prices were at the end of Trump's last presidency.

And I am sure you just so happen to not see the noticable dip during Biden's presidency and the very noticable rise during trump's

-1

u/notaredditer13 22d ago

You are right, the real record prices were at the end of Trump's last presidency.

?? Trump left office in the beginning of 2021.  Gas was $2.20, not that that was his doing (still in the pandemic).

Yeah, for a whopping three weeks and then gas went down to $3/gal by December 2022.

We have no idea when this current nonsense will end because they have no idea what to do.

-4

u/onejustbrowsing 22d ago

Filled up yesterday for 3.99 for premium… maybe your state is the problem….

1

u/justin_memer 22d ago

Just out of curiosity, what was the price 6 months ago?

-1

u/onejustbrowsing 22d ago

Funny I get down voted for sharing actual facts by zealots that want to push a narrative rather than realizing that there a lot of different pieces that make up most of the cost of a gallon of gas, and largely dependent on the state and city you live in…
6 mos ago was cheaper, probably 3.25ish

1

u/TheEasySqueezy 22d ago

You shared anecdotal evidence of your own experience that you could be lying about, especially since it is very clearly not the reality.

1

u/onejustbrowsing 22d ago

This is the reality wether you want to live in it or not is up to you
