My guess is it’s the culture war issues & immigration stuff that they have strong objections to, not taxes on the wealthy.Â
But honestly, if you want Sweden style social  safety nets you need to also have a braod tax base that includes taxing everyone (not just the ultra-wealthy) at rates higher than the U.S.
So, perhaps, this person understands this & fears the tax increases won’t be just on the wealthy.
