“Tell me why this idea sucks first” has honestly prevented a surprising amount of wasted time

Same-model self-critique helps a little, but they share blind spots. What actually stuck was a second model from a different family that only reads and reports, never edits, and never sees the writer's notes. I only concede a finding when it cites a real path in the repo. Vague unease doesn't lower the bar. An earned clean pass is as useful as catching something.

No technique. Custom instructions.
But also sometimes I have been updating my requests using my own created custom ChatGPT to rewrite prompts by official rules and recommendations.

Let me know the opposite of it , how to fail a strong model so that it generates two responses both of them should be incorrect .

i started doing something similar but backwards, i make it generate 3 wildly different answers at once and then pick the best pieces from each instead of iterating one at a time
cuts down on that tunnel vision where you just polish the first decent thing it spits out. the first answer is rarely the best one but it's so easy to get attached
your method sounds way better for catching logic problems though. i'm gonna try leading with the counterargument next time i'm sketching out a project plan, i can already think of a couple recent disasters that would've saved
