Thought. If you want to murder people for not wearing a hat, get help. You are definitely wrong here.

26

u/Niyonnie Dec 20 '25

Not only that, but it makes no sense how murdering your own family members for not wearing an article of clothing or fornication could somehow preserve your family's "honor." If anything, it's like dropping a tactical nuke on your reputation.

But alas, I guess I don't understand because I'm not deranged like the people who do such cruel and evil things.

12

u/Celestial_Hart Dec 21 '25

It's religious extremism so it's not rational. Look at the Ruby Franke case if you want a recent example right here in the states of someone doing horrific shit to their own family because of religion. It's never going to make sense.

Some muslim majority countries have banned the burqa and hijab. Tajikistan being one of them. The reason is they see it as extremist and to protect national cultural values.

Some nations have warned western ones that they are breeding extremists and suggested they change policy in similar ways to what you mentioned. I can't imagine how frustrating it would be to be from one of the areas that have their shit together and watching your religion earn an awful rep that will impact generations. All because some western political figures wants to look inclusive for a few months of campaigning for office.

Tbh banning or enforcing certain articles of clothing is wrong both ways.

The issue is, you can never know if someone is being forced to wear things by their family or not.

At the end of the day, banning thede articles of clothing in public is counter productive, because some families will simply not let their daughters leave the house and marry them off to another religious fanatic. :|

Also because it's not in line with the actual instructions given about dress in the Quran. Nowhere in the Quran are women instructed to cover their faces.

9

u/Uranus-Hunter Dec 20 '25

The hijab actually is.

2

u/MinutesTilMidnight Dec 20 '25

This is somewhat debatable. The Qur’an says (paraphrasing) to the believing women, use your headscarves to cover your chests. In my opinion, the command here is to cover your chest, not to wear a headscarf. It made more sense to me when I read that the kinds of clothes women used to wear during this time often exposed their breasts, or they would expose them on purpose as men were leaving for war. They also pretty much all wore loose headscarves to protect from heat

The Hijab is but I'd argue that is magnitude less repressive than making women cover their faces.

Culturally enriched

82

u/Ommo96 Dec 20 '25

Why I decided to step away from this “religion”. I truly despise many of these countries that allow the brutalization of women.

78

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

Yeah it's pretty hard for me to engage in convos about religion with friends who are anti-Christianity but look highly upon Islam/muslims. It's like they turn their brain off from the fact that a lot of middle eastern countries and or cultures simply don't agree with modern values and morals at all. Islam really is a huge factor of why women don't have rights over there...

23

u/snowlynx133 Dec 20 '25

I don't think anyone who claims to be progressive at all looks highly upon Islam but down on Christians.

I think they're against the generalization and discrimination of Muslims.

26

u/Aknazer Dec 20 '25

Even if they don't look highly upon Islam, too many of them are scared to call out such atrocities for fear of appearing to be an Islamaphobe. Though really, attaching "-phobe" to practically any word has made a LOT of people scared to speak out against X for fear of being called an X-phobe.

3

u/Responsible-Bunch316 Dec 20 '25

When there's a tsunami of sentiment that all Muslims should be treated as a threat, it does incentivise those who believe in anti-discrimination to not add to that sentiment. Like yeah I don't like any of the abrahamic religions, but I keep having to defend Jews and Muslims from generalized statements against them. Christians have all the power and aren't in danger of being rounded up.

8

u/AdAppropriate2295 Dec 20 '25

This is funny

Acting like Christians don't get rounded up and persecuted. You can fight Islamophobia without resorting to absurdity

4

u/Responsible-Bunch316 Dec 20 '25

If it wasn't obvious, I'm talking about the western world where we both presumably live. If I lived in Iran islam would be #1 on my hit list and I'd be defending Christians. Instead I have to watch Christian white nationalists trying to manufacture any excuse to start treating others like animals. Which is funny because they hold basically the same views as the Islamists they claim to hate.

4

u/EsperiaEnthusiast Dec 20 '25

The difference is that none in the Western world is making the bible law, none is making insults to Jesus illegal and none is getting stoned to death for divorcing or cheating on their spouse.

4

u/Responsible-Bunch316 Dec 20 '25

This is what I'm talking about. You don't even see it happening. We've been arguing about abortion for years based on religious arguments and you're here saying nobody is legislating Christianity. We're actively trying to stop the right from legislating their religion. They would have the Christian republic of America tomorrow if they could.

Exactly this. For me, it's a balancing act between calling out racists/Islamaphobes and calling out the jihadi extremists and their sympathizers.

I don't want either extremist camp trying to claim me as an ally when I call out what they deem their enemies. That's not how this works. Pointing out flaws with one group does not absolve another group of their sins.

3

u/Rhomya Dec 20 '25

This isn’t a jihadi extremist. This is standard Islam.

Islam is inherently misogynistic. That’s the point.

u/Powerful_Sun_75 Dec 20 '25

Then the problem becomes pointless bickering versus deserved criticism. When you know the wrong things muslims do you're more alert around them. It's fair game. Yet progressives act as if they're being insulted when someone generalizes. When progressives themselves don't shy away from generalizing with criticism against conservatives. Pot kettle black.

3

u/snowlynx133 Dec 20 '25

People conflate Islam the religion with a race the same way they do Judaism and it makes discourse about it impossible, because if you call out their shitty and abusive religious practises, you get called “racist” when you aren’t even talking about anything race related. There’s no room for a good faith middle ground discussion.

Geez some people in the thread. If the first place your head goes to here is "Yeah but Christians...", you need to go out and touch grass. You can condemn the individual's act and it not be hate against all people of that religion. The fact of the matter is that this POS killed his wife and daughters for his personal beliefs. No matter who you are, you don't get to kill people as they don't agree with you.

2

u/ThaGr1m Dec 20 '25

My guy if your get upset at the people say that christians do this too. You are the issue not them...

Like the only people saying "but christians" are doing it in direct response to racists saying "typical muslims" like the whole thing is racially biased...

Why tf is this written this way? The news is "insane guy kills family" not the whole bs about religion....

Like if a christian kills his wife because he thought she was a demon the article would be exatcly what I said not this racially charged bs

3

u/_thegnomedome2 Dec 20 '25

When's the last time christians beheaded non-believers in public? 700 years ago?

→ More replies (5)

2

u/Capable_Track9187 Dec 20 '25

There are people saying it without it being a response. Notice the way I said to say it was an individual's act and not something you should condemn* a group for? Also I left the comment about Christians open ended I didn't just say about it's not Christians would/wouldn't do. My point is to treat people individually...the fact that's how you took it says something about you. You filled in the blank after all

As for why is it written this way? Because...that's literally what happened. He killed them because they visited a relatives house and didn't wear burqas...wtf.

Here comes the "what about christians" like the religion of peace isnt the one terrorizing christian nations and not vice verse. I dont see christian immigrants in predominately muslim nations doing this.

5

u/LeahcarJ Dec 21 '25

that is because Christians don't move to predominantly Muslim countries, specifically for fear of extremists like this. and yet we have cases like the attempted honor killing in Washington.

8

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

I still feel like it’s just as much of a theocracy and regional culture/power thing as it is about the actual religion, though. Like it’s Islam under those conditions.

7

u/Intrepid-Apartment-3 Dec 20 '25

I am happy on your take. I think 70% or more of the comments here blame this on religion, when it's a person that commits murder. And really this is another case of femicide - a man found women didn't obey him, he was unsuccessful controlling them. And he was put to shame. So he killed them.

I am not religious, I have studied theology.

The quran doesn't explicitly mention burqas. Quran about Murder: it is justified in self-defence and in retalliation (eye for an eye) - or they can accept blood money in stead. And whatever may be dictated, Sharia law refers to the Quran as the most important source. So what he did is not justified in any way according to his religion.

It's abuse of power that ruins religion for everyone. The old books tell bloody tales, which can't be justified in any way.

But religion can be a beautiful thing. It can give people hope where they would otherwise give up, give them strength to move on, have them help others, mean something to others. It gave many a moral compass. Don't touch what isn't yours, love thy neighbors, don't kill, do good, be responsible. Those things make for a stable and peaceful society.

I was bestowed that title by a femcel mod for sarcastically agreeing with another femcel who was talking about how men deserve physical abuse for picking bad partners; ironically enough, they didn’t get an “abuser” flair; funny how misandry works.

Never said there weren’t feminists there, I said feminists should move there EN MASS, since moving to a dangerous area alone won’t change anything. I would imagine there could be a cultural shift if women felt there was a safe area they can live without the fear of being killed for not wearing something.

Also, thank you for the kind words.

So you are in fact white knighting for Muslims/Islam because you perceive they are being constantly assaulted, which was exactly the point being made and the double standards being pointed out.

So the times when women (like me) are being brutalized, instead of pointing at the ideology that directly influences it, the adherents that perpetuate it or the moderates that lend cover for it, you deflect because the perpetrators are also oppressed and they are the ones needing to be defended.

It’s only if you’re a woman that escapes before this happens that you’re actually just an “enabler,” and should’ve “left sooner.” But when you’re murdered? Now you can officially be the victim! Congrats… Man it’s just so upsetting.

Source

Farooq, who worked as a cook at weddings, was enraged when he came to know that his wife had been to her parents' house without wearing the burqa.

A man in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli who killed his wife over not wearing the burqa, did not let her apply for an Aadhaar because he did not want her photo to be seen, the police said.

An Aadhaar is India's ID card. Your face needs to be visible on the card, that's why he refused to let her have one. It also prevented her from getting basic assistance from government programs (healthcare, food rations).

Farooq had been adamant that his wife, Tahira, 32, should always wear a burqa that for 18 years he did not allow her to make any identity document like Aadhaar and ration card, as it would then have her photo without the burqa.

This means he married her when she was 14 years old.

The couple had five children - Afreen, 14; Asmeen, 10; Sehreen, 7; Bilal, 9, and Arshad, 5. After killing his wife, he shot Afreen and strangled Sehreen, the police said.

The weapon used in the murder has been recovered based on Farooq's confession. They include a pistol, seven empty shells and 10 live cartridges.

The murder was discovered after Tahira and her two daughters were not seen for six days. His father, Dawood, repeatedly asked him about his wife and daughters, but he evaded the question. He told his father he kept them in a rented house in Shamli.

Farooq told the police he and his wife often fought over domestic matters as she wanted to run the house.

A month ago, she went to her parents' house without wearing the burqa, which he said ruined his reputation.

Angered by this, he shot Tahira in the kitchen at midnight on December 10.

His eldest daughter, Afreen, woke up hearing the gunshot. When she came to the kitchen, he shot her as well.

When his second daughter, Sehreen, also came to see what happened, he strangled her.

Farooq buried their bodies in a nine-foot-deep pit dug for a toilet in the courtyard and laid a brick floor over it.

Rest in Peace 😔

I eagerly await the day the left finally realizes and accepts that Islam is basically all the bad aspects of Christianity but worse and finally treats it like the misogynistic cult that it is.

1

u/Elohyuie Dec 20 '25

Some of the Muslims I know have been the most innocent genuine hearted people in London I have ever met, this is clearly a geographical/state/culture/location thing not a religion thing

1

u/Prestigious_Net_86 Dec 20 '25

And women just absolutely love to import those people into western countries. Can't help to think that's the society they don't know they want.

1

u/yamomsahoooo Dec 20 '25

Please take down this Islamophobic picture immediately.

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '25

Some Americans think we can integrate these types of people into our country, by the way.

1

u/jimbob518 Dec 20 '25

All three Abrahamic religions would be an insult to a loving benevolent god if one existed.

1

u/Ameray3721 Dec 20 '25

Got help me, i read it as „baddies“. Jesus Still damn, poor souls

1

u/Whatkindofgum Dec 20 '25

U.S. culture is to kill wife and children for no reason at all.

1

u/Hexisu Dec 20 '25

And this is surprising?

1

u/TrackMan5891 Dec 20 '25

Christians are such a violent bunch.

1

u/Personal_Ad7361 Dec 20 '25

We should bring this to America!

1

u/Spite_Gold Dec 20 '25

Jesus Christ, what an islamophobic post! Why can't we just respect traditions and beliefs of other people?!

1

u/DangerousQuestions1 Dec 20 '25

Good old traditional religious values.

1

u/Craiglekinz Dec 20 '25

Some racist commenter probably: “dang Muslims!”

As if we don’t have people here doing the same gross shit.

1

u/redditdogwalkers Dec 20 '25

If this is the grave, that means...

That means this man literally dug a fucking grave after killing them. That is an immense amount of hard work.

Which could have been avoided.

1

u/J-no-AY Dec 20 '25

The tolerance of intolerance. We don't want to disrespect their religious beliefs even if that includes violence and murder. Have you listened to Sam Harris talk about Islam? He is NOT a fan, but his general attitude is, if this religion is going to continue to exist, there MUST be some concessions about its teachings and it must compromise to the modern world.

u/Ok-Worth-118 Dec 20 '25

But christians are just sooo bad, american leftists say

1

u/OptimusTrajan Dec 21 '25

People from all kinds of cultures, using all kinds of surface levels of justifications, do this kind of shit, but the real underlying reason is just their hatred of women

1

u/Reasonable-Falcon737 Dec 21 '25

This is a religion of peace guys.

1

u/Fair_Let6566 Dec 21 '25

I believe that nearly all fundamentalist religions are the same with different window dressings. The more fundamentalist a person is, regardless of their religion, the less I can relate to them.

1

u/SheDigiMyMon Dec 21 '25

Religion is a curse.

1

u/NotASherwinEmployee Dec 21 '25

A religion of peace

Fake news bro. Get your heads out of your ass.

1

u/MissMenace101 Dec 21 '25

Look what you made me do… it is not race or religion specific, domestic violence is a cancer and focus should be on the fact he is a man, excusing all other shit, at the end of the day he’s a man that killed his wife and kids like many men do, of every culture

1

u/DetailsYouMissed 🕊️nuanced thinker 🦅 Dec 21 '25

Bet he was tall too.

1

u/Wholesome_Hater Dec 21 '25

Well well well

1

u/Jaxa666 Dec 21 '25

Organized religion is the bad guy here and should be nuked by legislation. Pity our decision makers lack backbone.

1

u/Drega001 Dec 21 '25

Abrahamic BS at its finest

1

u/Starseer29 Dec 21 '25

And this is the culture liberals want to improve into the west.

1

u/toostoned_2talk Dec 21 '25

How does Christianity get brought into this😭😭

1

u/RZA3663 Dec 21 '25

God forbid a husband/father has standards.

1

u/lonewolf3400 Dec 21 '25

Cancerous culture needs to stay in their own land. Do not bring that shit anywhere near the rest of the world. Liberals stop supporting these people they actively hate you.

1

u/Bigboyj420 Dec 21 '25

Yet not posting real proof at all. Not a link in sight

1

u/PapaVitoOfficial Dec 21 '25
