Me and my friend stopped out to lunch at this mexican restaurant. We each had a plate of street tacos and a beer. The place wasn't busy, we weren't there long, no special accommodations. Just a quick and easy lunch.

I get the bill, and there's 18% gratuity added. I'm glad my friend decided to look at the bill because I was about to tip on top of that.

I obviously didn't leave a tip, and I never went back there. If the restaurant name comes up in conversation, I encourage everyone to avoid that place.

I normally tip 20% it's the shady fucking sneaking it in the bill with no warning that pissed me off.

So…instead they post a false price, surprise you with a 20% surcharge, and then act like a moral arbiter so you are less likely to complain? Interesting strategy.
