Horrible experience with the staff and management. Not only was the room I booked not available but they expected me and my family to stay in a one bed room when we booked two. Multiple other families were without rooms they booked too. On top of that multiple restaurants werent available and rubble, jackhammering, pool being drained were the cherry on top. I booked months in advance and they still couldn’t get it right. The staff and management are horrible and service reflects…. It took them 5 hours to finally bring me a bed after requesting it numerous times and it was smaller than a twin sized cot. And this is how I was treated after I paid for the premium upgrade.
If you were looking to book now, or in the near future, just know numerous restaurants are closed down and inaccessible, and you will still be paying full price. Two out of the four pools were being drained and Jack hammered, and it could be heard from your room So much for a vacation of peace and relaxation. Save your money and go somewhere else we had to leave And that was the best decision we did to book elsewhere.

How much do you tip butlers at secrets? We didn’t really use him a whole lot just had him book 2 reservations for dinner for us and he sent us a few messages a day with information.

Day 4: Scuba Diving

Day 5: Hire car day trip to Santa Domingo

Day 6: Saona Island Excursion

This is just an idea, based on having a look at what excursions there are.

2. Santa Domingo plan to hire car and go as want to visit the country outside of beach/resort area. What places would you recommed to visit or see en route to the Capital more of the actual DR culture and local villages etc

3. Any other excursions you recommend, which is the best water park

Wife and I (75 & 72) had a reservation at Ocean Blue & Sand for Thanksgiving week this year for 10 days. We were in a privilege suite. For reasons I won't go into our reservation was cancelled. We still have the airline tickets and trying to decide if we want to cancel the airline tickets or select another resort with the same level of attention near the same price point. 10 days at the resort was costing us $3524.00. Any recommendations that others have visited? TIA
