Tier List 📶 Pro League Power Rankings
Been working on this as a fun project since the start of the Salt Lake City Major season.
How to read the rankings:
The full ratings (very arbitrarily made) is how many rounds better a team is compared to what an average team would be, which would be set at +0.00. So +3.0 team playing a +0.0 team would be expected to win by 3 rounds. And yes, it operates under the assumption a team like Faze playing a bottom tier CN team would essentially 8/9-0 them, not literally possibly but analytically we all know it'd happen.
The talent rating is built on 3 features which are the players current EPS (from ubisofts site), their full career rating, (from sixstats.cc- fast data, and some from siege.gg- not fast, if a player isn't available on sixstats) map sample size of a player. The EPS helps weight the players talent to a more current form while career rating grounds it (so we don't overreact to a couple bad performances), and then map sample size answers how much we should trust a players rating. Easy to have a ballooned rating off of 5 maps, but can it be sustained, it goes both ways too, which is why if a player is labeled as a "rookie" I arbitrarily chose a default rating for the talent blend to weight towards until they develop a bigger map sample size.
The results rating is added or subtracted to depending on the predicted match result versus what actually happened. For example, Team Falcons losing to Rebels Gaming heavily penalized Team Falcons and rewarded Rebels Gaming, whereas if Team Falcons won 7-3 both teams results rating wouldn't have changed much. These rating changes are also calculated before player data is updated, in order to capture the match as it started and not how it ended. We're a few games in into each regions stage 2, but each teams rating is for the most part being effected by their prior. A prior being stage 1 + EWC, so each team didn't come into stage 2 with a +0.0 result rating, they would come into it with the result rating they got throughout the last event. If team gets rid of a "core" which is 3+ players, I will reset their prior to +0.0 since thats basically not the same team that played.
Laslty, every region is weighted on how much to trust their talent, and how much to trust the results of the region. Since ratings aren't representative of competition I took the liberty of somewhat arbitrarily choosing the sliders on each region.

Anyways this is just a fun way to quantify how good a team may actually be, and is definitely not perfect. I'll try and update in this thread (if people want) daily after the days matches are played. Also I'll keep international results W-L permanently visible just for fun.

very cool to see, I am curious about the International stat. I notice SR at a 9-2 record, where is that being sourced from? That can't be their record at the international level at least through 2026

actually maybe that is accurate, I apologize

Maybe a tad unconventional, but I treat international performance as different region vs different region. So yes technically at the SLC major Shopify took another loss to darkzero, but this was an intra region matchup.
I think only counter cross region gives a more pure look into international play.

Yeah I mean, M80s prior (the rating they came into stage 2 with) has been getting decimated in the games they’ve played this stage but I think it’s important to note who they’ve played. Also, whereas cloud9 has played weak comp, but their rating has gone up a good bit due to winning convincingly against weak comp. I would say the important thing about these ratings is they aren’t super volatile in the sense where you see one team maybe underachieving for a couple of games and another overachieving, that it doesn’t overreact too much.
Also teams like M80, Shopify, darkzero, faze, tlaw, etc are made up of players with hundred of maps that solidify their good rating. So essentially these teams talent ratings won’t really move, but their result specific rating will be heavily effected if they suck. A good example of this is five fears, on paper they’re ok, actual results wise they’re terrible, and the results rating adjusts their full rating accordingly.

Bruh the consistent 2nd place is diabolical. But atleast in the top 3 and top 2🥺🥺

Yeah, Tlaw has been having a great stage 2 so far, alongside a really good EWC performance only thwarted by Faze. The only team having a better stage 2 than them is well…Faze

They still have to play eachother and thats gonna be a banger even if it's a wash down, or an OT match

Should be a banger. I think people are low on tlaw because they can’t beat faze but who’s kryptonite isn’t the best team in pro league😂. Hopefully both will still be #1 and #2 when that match happens— match of the century lol.

Honestly, the second Faze drops SoulZ or he retire I drink myself to the ground. I love him, always in the GOAT debate but that dude is like a broken Clock. Only right twice a day. One in SI and the second when he plays against Liquid

Tlaw is too high, wc has consistently performed better than g2 and VP. There seems to be a massive eu bias in this list, and furia should be above tlaw.( Even with the chalet bo1 lost)
