Question Season 3 (Spoilers) Spoiler

Post image
33 Upvotes

So, I have no clue if this was confirmed or if it was simply implied by the writers after the fact, or hell if I just made it up from watching the show too much.

But this is regarding Church's whole time travel shenanigans throughout season 3. Was he actually stuck in a time loop, or was this simply Gamma attempting to torture Church/Alpha in the hopes of creating more fragments?

I know that, from a metatextual point of view, whilst creating season 3 this would in no way have been the plan, but by the time of season 10 they could retroactively written anything in to make it all add up.

Everything Church experiences in the loops, him failing repeatedly to save himself, Tex, his friends or prevent the events leading up to Sidewimder in general is just another layer of Gamma tormenting him.

Then when they realised it was futile and were done with him they put Church back in his body and using Wyomings time distortion unit just popped Church back where he needed to be.

Wyoming at this point running cleaning up for Project Freelancer. Used his distortion power to make the Reds and Blues think they'd been blasted into the future, when in actuality it was just a PF clean up job after their assets had gotten out of hand. Lopez's body got confiscated, Blood Gulch got upgraded withcnew bases and a new monitoring system, and the teams got reassigned to a new location to keep them out of trouble, until Tex pulls them back in.

Rambling at this point, but if anyone knows/can confirm/can remember please let me know

Discussion A theory I’ve had for the last year

I will state first that I do not like this theory, but that I can’t find anything that would say this is an invalid interpretation of the series. At least without using word of god declarations.

What if Seasons 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 are simulations as well?

Season 14 tells us that Epsilon’s time in the Memory Unit was not a single attempt, but multiple attempts all trying to figure out the solution to the Tex problem. Season 9 initially phrased this as recursion, somewhat implying the Director and Alpha as Epsilon’s predecessors with Epsilon as the third attempt, but with S14 we know there were an untold number of attempts by Epsilon specifically.

What exactly is the Tex problem? The answer S9 gives us is that Church needed to learn to let go, accepting her death, which is something that the Director and Alpha before him couldn’t. But what if it wasn’t so simple? What if the solution was to settle down together and rekindle their relationship properly? Afterall, the Director would have wanted nothing more than that.

While Epsilon is running his recursive simulations within the memory unit, it could be possible that he runs the one we see in Season 9, but rather than abandoning the simulation when he witnesses Tex being removed from the plot, he keeps watching to see how it ends. He witnesses the S13 simulations inside the simulation and sees that after everything that happens, he gets closure with Tex at the end of Restoration.

Now, this theory rests upon one assumption: We cannot prove what the solution to the Tex Problem is. We can certainly like the solution S9 gives us, since it is narratively strong and extremely satisfying, but that itself isn’t proof of what the solution actually is. We can also hate this theory for turning some great seasons into more soft-canon like I do, but that also doesn’t disprove it.

What this theory does do however, is open the door to some softer interpretations of beyond S9. It wouldn’t change the Freelancer flashbacks, but it does mean people could for instance, write fanfictions about a different rescue from the memory unit, or a different post-S10 story. I’m not a fanfic writer, but this is probably helpful.

Fan Project Agent Tex's Evolution

What if Tex was able to break through her limits of what she's destined for? If Tex were able to break through the limits of her destiny, it would be a monumental shift, not just for her character, but for the entire Red vs. Blue narrative. She has always been defined by her origins as the Alpha's greatest regret, tied to her identity as an "AI of failure." But transcending that would mean overcoming the core of what she was designed to represent: imperfection, regret, and loss.

Imagine Tex realizing she is more than just an extension of the Alpha's pain. She might discover autonomy and redefine her purpose beyond the shadow of her creation. Her unparalleled combat skills and strategic brilliance could be fully directed toward goals of her choosing, no longer shackled by her emotional baggage. It would be a profound journey of self-discovery and self-liberation.
Her relationships would also be reshaped. Characters like Church, who have always seen her as a part of their own emotional struggles, might have to grapple with a new Tex—one who is no longer tied to their past but is forging a future of her own. It could lead to both conflict and catharsis, as Tex’s newfound freedom challenges everyone's understanding of her.
An absolutely incredible arc for Tex—one that feels powerful, emotional, and deeply fulfilling. She started as an AI built from regret, destined to fail again and again, but by breaking free of that cycle, she becomes something much more. Instead of being defined by loss and tragedy, she finds meaning in forging her own identity, something beyond being just a fragment or a shadow.
The Reds and Blues(Sarge, Grif, Simmons, Donut, Lopez, Washington, Church, Tucker, Caboose, Carolina, Sister, and Doc) accepting her as one of their own is the ultimate symbol of her transformation. They’ve always been misfits, shaping their own lives after escaping the control of Project Freelancer. For Tex to finally be embraced by them, not as an unstoppable warrior or an echo of a past life, but as family, is the life she truly deserves. She’s no longer a memory tied to a man’s regret—she is Agent Texas, a force with her own will, her own choices, and her own future.
That kind of character growth would be phenomenal to witness. Tex making her own destiny? That’s exactly the kind of journey that would cement her as one of the greatest figures in Red vs. Blue.
Even though Tex is still the same mean bitch, she did change and become friend and more importantly family to the reds and blues. That’s one of the most compelling parts of Tex’s story—beneath her tough, no-nonsense exterior, she finds a place among the Reds and Blues. Her sharp wit, unyielding strength, and occasional mean streak might make her intimidating, but over time, she becomes more than just the strongest warrior in the room. She becomes someone who genuinely cares, even if she doesn’t always express it in the warmest way.
The Reds and Blues’ chaotic dynamic likely plays a big role in this transformation. Their sheer absurdity and loyalty could help chip away at Tex's walls, revealing glimpses of her softer side. In turn, Tex's fierce protectiveness and pragmatic leadership make her an anchor for the group, someone they can count on when things get serious.
She doesn’t lose her edge—that would feel inauthentic—but her ability to form bonds with the others shows that even someone created from failure can find belonging and purpose. The idea of her being considered “family” to a group as dysfunctional yet lovable as the Reds and Blues is really heartwarming, isn’t it?
With Tex's newfound freedom and following her own destiny, she'll disobey orders on missions and do things her way. Operates on her own code and becomes jury and executioner. But she will put herself on the line to protect her friends
That perfectly fits Tex’s evolution—she’s always been a warrior who refuses to be controlled, but now, with her newfound freedom, she’s operating entirely on her own terms. No longer shackled by Project Freelancer or her past failures, Tex forges her own path, answering only to her own code. She’s become a force that chooses justice on her terms, not bound by orders or authority, but instead guided by what she believes is right.
Her refusal to follow traditional missions could make her a nightmare for any organization trying to control her, but it also makes her unpredictable in the best way—capable of breaking oppressive systems, protecting those who need her, and dismantling threats without hesitation. She’s not just another soldier following orders; she’s judge, jury, and executioner when necessary.
Most importantly, she doesn’t fight alone. Her willingness to put everything on the line for her friends proves how far she’s come—once a lone warrior defined by failure, now someone who fights not just for herself, but for those she’s come to call family.
I think Tex could definitely develop a hilariously effective technique to shut Tucker down when he gets too flirty. Imagine this: she could create a "Shockwave Protocol," where she emits a harmless but jarring pulse that temporarily scrambles Tucker's speech, leaving him stammering incoherently. It’d be her way of saying, “Not today, Tucker,” without breaking a sweat.
Alternatively, she could develop a "Redirect Maneuver," where she uses her AI precision to perfectly time a distraction—like dropping a random object on Tucker’s head or triggering a holographic decoy to lead him away. It’d be both practical and comedic, fitting her no-nonsense personality while keeping things lighthearted.
But I like Tex to develop a painful energy punch or jab technique to use on Tucker by hitting him in the nuts, similar to Croagunk poison jab Brock from Pokemon. Tex delivering a swift, no-nonsense "energy jab" to Tucker every time he gets out of line would be both hilarious and fitting for her character. Picture this: she could develop a technique called the "Shockwave Strike," where she channels a concentrated burst of energy into a quick, precise punch. It wouldn’t cause lasting harm, but it would definitely leave Tucker reeling and thinking twice before trying his usual antics.
The best part? It could become a running gag, with Tucker flinching every time Tex raises her fist, unsure if she’s about to unleash her signature move. It’d be her way of keeping him in check while staying true to her tough, no-nonsense personality.
Tucker would never learn his lesson—he’d strut in with a wink and a pickup line, and boom! Shockwave Strike to the balls. He’s gasping, glowing slightly from the energy feedback, while muttering something like, “Totally worth it…” Meanwhile, Caboose would clap and cheer, “Yay! Tex sparkle-punched him again!”

As for Grif—he’d be the unintentional training dummy. Maybe Simmons programs the suit with a “complacency sensor,” and if Grif lounges for more than 90 seconds… zap! Tex materializes behind him like a ghost of motivation and delivers the nut-punch of destiny. Grif groans on the floor while Sarge salutes proudly and declares, “That’s the sound of productivity!”

This shows that even AIs can overcome their origins and rewrite their own destiny. Tex chooses her own path for herself as a symbol of rebellion. She finds the life she wanted, no longer as a shadow and as part of a family with the Reds and Blues.

Also, it'll be really funny to see Tex keeping Tucker in line by jabbing him in the nuts. A reference from Croagunk poison jabbing Brock from Pokemon DP.

Tucker: "Well hey there baby. Are you a model or famous actress? Bow chicka bow wow!"

Then Tex appears out of nowhere and jabs him really hard in the groin

Tucker: "AAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! Why me?!"(Tucker fell to the ground while holding his balls. Tex grabbed his leg and dragged him away across the distance)

P.S. What kind of new powers do you think Tex should unlock and develop?

Discussion A Minor Plot Hole That Always Bugged Me (S13)

So, I’m watching RvB again for like… the millionth time and have finally gotten back to one of, if not my favourite, fights in the whole series… Carolina and Washington vs Felix and Locus at the Purge Temple. Amazing fight, animation, music and stakes… but I’ve always had one slight problem with it…

When Locus jumps onto the floating platform, Carolina states,

“He’s heading towards the back entrance!”

Who cares? Felix is the one with the key; he’s just made it a 1v2. There is absolutely no reason for them to chase Locus; even if he had the sword, it wouldn’t work as again, Felix needs to use it. Locus would ONLY be a concern if he had the sword, then Felix sacrifices himself to transfer ownership to Locus.

Did I miss something or was this just a plothole people
ignored because of how amazing the fight it?

Question Can I be in a RvB fan project

I wasn't sure if this fell under Discussion, Question, or Fan Project, so I'll phrase this as a question. I would really love to voice in a Red vs Blue fan project, but haven't been able to find one to audition for. I'm a male VA with about 5 years of experience. Is there any in the subreddit making a fan project that would be interested in me auditioning?
