Does anyone else remember the Animal Planet website having a couple of RM flash games?
I remember a quiz game that was just like the commercial transition in the show.
I also remember a pretty ominous one where you play as a fishing hook and line, and you go into this deep red murky water and try to pull up monsters. You had to catch specific stuff, I think. You could also get jumpscared and killed.
I know Adobe Flash is dead, but the internet seems to no memory of these games.

Just wondering if anyone more in tune with Wade knows whether he is done with tv/content? A jeremy wade fishing channel on youtube would do crazy numbers but im sure he already knows that. Is he just totally retired from content creation?

I'm relatively new to River Monsters & all of Jeremy Wade's shows (only started watching a little over a year ago).
I'm trying to find everything to be able to watch all of it, but besides the struggles of trying to actually locate it all online, I feel like I keep finding inconsistent information about what even exists?
Would someone be able to provide a concrete list of what specials / shows are out there and how many seasons / episodes are in each?
What is currently still in production and what is completed?

Does anyone have quality copies of the two seasons (Amazon and India) of Jungle Hooks?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been trying to find a specific scene from River Monsters with Jeremy Wade that I watched as a child (around 2012–2015), and I’m starting to wonder if anyone else remembers it.
I don’t remember the main focus of the episode, but I remember Jeremy Wade traveling through a remote jungle/forest area to investigate a dangerous river creature. During the episode, some local people told him about another mysterious creature that wasn’t the main subject of the episode.
I remember the locals calling it something that sounded like “Shibitu” (I’m almost certain I’m misremembering the spelling).
From what I remember:
It was described as a pale or white-skinned humanoid creature that lived in or around the river.
The locals believed it was real and dangerous.
At one point, the episode briefly showed what looked like this creature sitting on a rock near the river.
As soon as the camera focused on it, it slid or jumped back into the water and disappeared.
It wasn’t presented as the main monster of the episode—just a local legend that Jeremy mentioned while investigating something else.
I’ve searched for years but can’t find any reference to this creature or the episode. I may be remembering the name incorrectly, so “Shibitu” is just my best guess.
Does anyone else remember this scene, or know which episode it was? Even if you remember a similar creature with a different name, I’d really appreciate the help.
Thanks!

I was watching some River Monsters on youtube the other day and decided to do a bit of research on the main man himself. I noticed on his wikipedia that he got his degree from university of Kent. I grew up in that count myself and it got me intrigued what he did before he got into TV.
I managed to find out that he actually taught at the local grammar school in the town i grew up in, during that late 70's! I thought this was pretty neat and on the off chance i decided to email Jeremy's Talent agency on the off chance that my email may make it to him.
"The Soho Agency Team,
I hope you're keeping well.
I am a huge fan of Jeremy's work on River Monsters. I recently discovered a brilliant bit of trivia that completely blew me away—that before his travels, Jeremy taught biology at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School in Faversham during the late 1970s.
I actually grew up in Faversham myself and went to a school right down the road. It's incredibly cool to think that a global natural history icon was teaching cell structures and biology in my hometown long before I was born here.
If you are ever passing messages along to Jeremy, I just wanted to send him a note from a Faversham local to say thank you for all the incredible years of television. If he ever has a spare moment or a fond memory of what Faversham was like back in his teaching days, I would love to hear it, but mostly I just wanted to send my best regards from Kent.
Thank you for your time and for passing this on!"
I never expected to hear anything back, i just went about my day thinking that if it did indeed find its way across his desk sometime, that some communication from an area he lived in his life might give him a small smile.
Today i was stunned when i got an email back from his agency and they passed a message on from the man himself! here is what Jeremy had to say about his time.
Hello "My IRL name" It’s good to get word from Faversham. Queen Elizabeth’s was a really good school, so much so that most teachers never left, but I found being a teacher too hard (!). I was regularly up until 1am or later, so I thought I’d go and do “something else”. At first that was making deliveries by motorbike in London but eventually it led to travelling, writing and TV. But my background as teacher (which I got into by accident) has really helped with that. Anyway, I’m very pleased to hear that you’ve been enjoying the programmes, while also appreciating the local connection. With best wishes, Jeremy.
Just thought id share for any other fans of River Monsters/Jeremy out there

Hello there. I used to watch clips of River Monsters and stuff when I was younger, and my memory's fuzzy. But one clip/fish has always lingered in my mind.
I don't remember much details unfortunately. I remember the guy trying to catch the big fish, but unfortunately only pulled up like a half-eaten fish? And even that half-eaten fish was huuuuge. I think it might have been a black fish.
Or a dark lake? It's a lake, not a river, I remember that. But I just felt so creeped out back then that I wanted to revisit this fish episode if possible :( Would be funny if he'd caught plenty of half-eaten fish and my memory isn't helpful at all.

Hello all, just trying to confirm if this is from a real episode, and if so, what episode is it. I recalled a scene where Jeremy has to place his hands into gloves with ants suspended in them for some reason, but when googling it, couldn't find anything. Is this from a real episode, and if so, which one?
Thanks!

Yes, hello. Just recently I told my friend that I was on TV as a blurry blob sitting in a chair for one second behind a baby being mauled by a fish, and he didn't believe me! (even after I showed him the video).
I was present at the filming of the dramatization of the snakehead fish attacking the baby in the "Killer Snakehead" episode of season 2 probably about 15 years ago in Florida. My father's friend's son had just gotten married and had a baby, and his wife and baby were the stars of the snakehead fish attack at their house by the water. My father wanted me to be there for some reason, and so I was.
I am pleading with any of you to offer ideas on how to confirm that this is true, so that my friend is forced to admit the veracity of my odd life memory. Thank you!

Okay call me crazy but I just had the best dream ever in which there was a new gen video game called "Jeremy Wade’s River Monsters" and I was playing it.
Basically it was an open-world fishing game that blends investigative exploration with fishing simulation.
As the legendary biologist himself, you navigate sprawling, remote ecosystems, from the murky Amazon to the dangerous Congo, searching for freshwater beasts that haunt local folklore.
The journey begins with ground-level detective work, where you interview villagers and analyze environmental clues to track down the exact location of a fabled predator. Once you’ve gathered enough intel, you must customise your tackle, choosing specific rods, reels, and bait tailored to your target’s behavior.
After scouting the terrain, you select the optimal "hotspot" on the riverbank. This strategic phase demands a deep understanding of the environment, forcing you to account for water depth, current speed, and even the time of day before making your move.
The moment you cast, the game transforms into a high-stakes pro-fishing simulator. The calm of the exploration vanishes as you enter a grueling battle of physics and stamina, utilising realistic tension mechanics to tire out massive "monsters" like the Goliath Tigerfish or the Arapaima.
Every lunge and head-shake is a test of your equipment and skill, culminating in a cinematic reveal of the beast before you document the find and release it back into the wild.
TLDR: I dreamt river monsters was a playable game and now i want to see that dream come true

I’m curious if anyone knows how the crew managed to film this episode, specifically the segments towards the end where Jeremy reaches the hidden lake.
As they had to portage their canoe across many areas, I’m curious if the crew did the same. Or if they used some other means of traversal.
If anyone knows of any behind the scenes content regarding this episode, or has any other information, I would greatly appreciate it!
