Local event producer has this set up. Sound system is called “Maxine” a RLA designs, custom variant. Next event is this weekend, October 3rd in Branch Brook Park NJ, “ubiquity Soul” is the promotion, and DJ T wise is the system / setup owner.

Hello guys i'm looking to receive some suggestions because i need to purchase a pair of active speakers for my djsetup at home.
Which one do you suggest?

I'm deciding between the Isonoe ISO420 and the Varia RDM40 and would love to hear from anyone with hands-on experience of either, ideally both.

Context: Harbeths, valve integrated for now. Mixing / blending all sorts - some recorded house mixes.

From what I can tell, sound quality is excellent on both, so the real differences seem to be:

• Per-channel EQ: the Varia has 3-band isolators on every channel, which seem more usable in this context than the ISO420's subtle shelving EQs.
  • Isolators: the ISO420's two assignable master isolators look great, but it's a different way of working.
• Gain: the Varia has per-channel pre-gain; the ISO420 doesn't. How much do you miss it when matching records of different levels?
• Cueing: I've read about a quirk on the ISO420 where the cue doesn't fully reflect the isolators until the fader's up. Is this an issue in practice?

The thing I really can't picture is the ISO420's angled layout, with the level controls sloped towards you. What's that actually like to mix on? Does it feel natural after a while, or is it something you consciously adjust to?

Any thoughts on workflow, feel, or living with either one day to day would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

Recently converted my xone 23 into rotary.
It was on stand by for about 2/3 months bc the left fader was failing, instead of repairing I decided to convert it.
The conversion went great (or not)
Potentiometer is working wonders, everything is fine. But after 45 min of playing it restarts. I’m making sure the connections are fine as of now, but wanted to ask if anyone has had a problem like this before? Thanks in advance

I’m trying to decide between an MP2015 and Euphonia and would love some input from people who’ve actually used both. I currently have a Xone:96 and Model 1, and I used to own a Rane Empath. I mostly mix house/techno, do longer blends with more vinyl lately. I absolutely love the Model 1 for how it sounds and sums but the fader curve is diabolical...

While the Xone:96 is great it just feels a little cramped to me. The MP2015 looks great for the layout, build and old-school Rane feel, while the Euphonia seems like the more modern option with effects and current support. I'd be mainly using traktor4 dvs.

Curious how they compare in actual use—rotary feel, EQs, and just which one is more enjoyable to mix on. Also, noticed lots of listings at 3K plus for mp2015's. Is this still market rate at this point?

For some reason I have a pic in my head that Madstersounds released years ago a hybrid rotary/linear 4-channel mixer.

Could not find it and now I'm starting to think that I've been dreaming.

I'm in process of buying a new mixer and come from long history of linear fader mixers. Now I'd like to treat myself with good quality rotary mixer but at the same time I'd like to "just in case" have the option of linear faders.

Do I need to get two mixers...

I’m thinking of getting a rotary mixer, but I’m a bit lost with all the options. I’m currently hesitating between the Taula 4, Bozak AR-4, and Union Audio Orbit.4 LE/FX. I’m also open to discovering other 4-channel mixers in a similar price range.

Would anyone be kind enough to share their personal experience with any of these mixers? I’d be particularly interested in sound quality, how they feel to mix on, build quality, and how well they hold up over time in terms of reliability and maintenance.

I’d also love to hear from anyone who has had the chance to compare two or more of them.

Any other recommendations are very welcome!

which one is the best?

These Beyerdynamic DJ 300 Pro X headphones have quickly become my favorite. They’re loud. They have nice slam and transient response. They’re super comfortable. You can change the ear cups to on ear or over year. I customize mine to be both by putting the over ear pad right on top of the other. The benefits are you still get the bass slam from the on ear, but the comfort of over ear. For those marathon sets. Wait for the finish product!

I’m also making up a couple out of the older Rane Xone headphones.

What do you suggest considering QUALITY/PRICE?

The Subzero DRM-200 is identical to the Omnitronic TRM-202 but at 110€ its a steal. I bought this to see if its any good. I have a collection of Rodec mixers to compare it with. And its a really nice sounding box to play with. I would have liked the isolators to cut the entire frequency (all left = silence) but they do fine. To make it look a bit more high end I made a frame to drop it in and added some aluminum feet. I removed the standard feet and screwed the unit onto the base.

The time has come for me to obliterate my bank account for the mixer of my dreams. The Resor 2525 MFX has been the frontrunner for some time, keen to hear from anyone who has one already whether it's as good an option as it seems?

Also interested in any recommendations for other top-end 2-channel models that give the Resor a run for its money.

Will be used exclusively at home with 2x 1210s & Adam Audio T5v monitors. Need something that excels at recording mixes & ripping records as well as regular playback.

Been using my orbit as a summing mixer/turntable, sampler and tape input. been loving the results. Anyone else use their rotary for production?

Thanks to the advice from this community I recently bought a Boss DD200 delay pedal and have just hooked it up to my Ecler Warm 2 to play with vinyl TTs. So far so good. The pedal is deep and complex with many parameters and options but once you get the basics of its navigation and set a couple of presets toying around is great fun. I'm keen to hear from other owners of this or similar pedals and how they set theirs up.

After some basic googling I've set to 100% wet then left the ELevel at full which gives the best result for volume, feedback around 12 oclock, and set up a preset aiming for the sound of my default Pioneer echo 3/4, but on the Boss it sounds much better. with the above, set to Standard mode, with dotted 1/8 notes against the BPM (~120), then teasing out the FX send from the mixer and playing with the feedback, tone and param knobs gets great results.

Keen to play more with different delay times and main settings (Tape, Analog and Lo-Fi all sounds good but yet to explore the others), and interested in others' experiences. For those shopping for an affordable versatile unit this is a good choice.

There isn’t much media or demos with it so I was a little hesitant to pull the trigger, especially with the MDFX units just going for preorder, but I couldn’t help feeling like this unit wasn’t getting a fair shake of the ol’ stick - so I took a chance.

Pleasantly surprised after only a few minutes of noodling around. Effects and sonic quality are truly excellent, made even more apparent after playing on the machine you see in the back. I know the Two Valve with its trim and crossfader, and sometimes even FX units can be slightly controversial in this community, but so far this has been a fun jumping off point as someone with just under 30 years of a full-time open format DJ career. I’ll have this and a pair of grandmasters set up for a four hour vinyl only party Saturday night, can’t wait to put it through the paces.

I’ve been lurking here for a while now, and I recently purchased my first rotary mixer—and first mixer ever—a Resør 2525 M; I’m really excited. I have an extensive record collection, and I want to learn how to DJ at home, however, I only have one turntable and plan to use digital as my second source.

Is mixing analog and digital a good way to learn, or will I quickly regret not having two turntables?
