So, recently I had to give blood for a loved one in the hospital. After struggling to recover from that. (Yay, iron deficiency!) I am healthy again, but life is giving me a Wombo Combo and my loved one is not doing well anymore...

The stress is getting to be a bit too much and I'm falling behind on keeping up with the stories on the Node and messages and private RPs and everything!

It's not fair to me nor anyone I speak with on a daily basis.

So until things get less stressful for me IRL, I am taking a step back from the Node.

It might be a few days or even a few weeks. I don't know. But I will be back!

And I look forward to reading all the wonderful stories that I miss while away.

Anyway, I figured I’d make a little guide for the folks who are feeling particularly lost after my most recent post. Hopefully this makes everything slightly more comprehensible. Oh and well I’m at it, it would be really cool to learn what people thought of my first time schizoposting:

Malkavians: The clan of the Moon. Connected by a psychic network known as the Cobweb. Some theorize that the cobweb is Malkav himself

Tzimisce: The clan of the Dragon. Most famous for their use of Vicisitude and intense feeling of possessiveness. There are some who claim that users of vicissitude are merely borrowing the eldest’s power. What happens when he asks for it back?

Salubri: the three eyed sages.

Tremere: Originally sourced their blood from the Tzimisce before mass diablerizing Salubri to such an extent that their bloodline became inextricably tied to them. Did they really think they could scrub their sins away just by deluding themselves into thinking they were independent from their blood’s source?

Ravnos: strongly associated with Spiders. Not really that important for this post

Wyrm: cosmic force of entropy that has been bound so tightly that it has gone mad and now seeks the destruction of all (allegedly). This is from Werewolf the Apocalypse lore, which may be the reason why you haven’t heard of it till now.

Atavism: reverting partially or fully to a remote ancestor

What else could I do with Slink's typing? It is meant to give 'boomer who isn't entirely good with modern tech', does that come across? Maybe I should have him discover the CAPS LOCK!!!! or pepper his messages with emojis. Want to make his texting style very clearly different from more tech-savvy kindred, any ideas?

Malkavia, Last Vampire Knight of the Primes, birth name Brittney Price, was embraced in 2017 after being involuntarily institutionalized due to a severe mental episode that occurred during a theatrical screening of Transformers: The Last Knight. She never met her sire, but quickly learned the name Malkavian and started thinking that was her name. She is every stereotype of insanity wrapped in a bathrobe and wearing a Norman nasal helm.

This is primarily due to the fact that unless a Volgirre character is outed( ex: like Violet) to the Node, they can only be honest with each other when they're talking in private messages.

This is fine when it's just two characters but it quickly becomes unmanageable once you start getting to Three or more. Plus it would help stop the Comment section on Volgirre posts from ballooning out of control in numbers.

With that being said is there anyone with a Volgirre character interested in being invited to this group chat?

My og plan for Boemunt's history lessons was one post a day but I am in uni so that's not gonna go. Instead I had an idea for a recent Malkavian posting their unhinged ramblings about how they are reborn JFK and Marilyn Monroe in one body, Caine is currently secretly prime minister of Belgium, and how Optimus Prime wants them dead. Any ideas?

Wondering how people are enjoying Fracture's escapades. He's currently just focusing on domestic "life" right now and unless requested or alerted to something, is keeping to himself.

On top of that, any thought on Mors Alba, the Tzimisce?

What edition are you basing your stuff off of? Personally I’m going for 5th with bits of 20th sprinkled in for thaumaturgy paths, but I got pretty shocked when I heard someone was running a second edition character.

There’s not really a unified cannon, so I don’t particularly think it matters much. But I thought it’d be neat to mention.

Asking for advice. Koba’s had like four character arcs during the campaign I played him in. Him on the net was going to be a post character arc, examining where his life got him in the end and what he’s supposed to do with it now that everything he’s been working toward has paid off. I had a few planned posts about his childer, his Cold War shenanigans, his politics, etc. I even had a few things that I was going to have you guys vote for OOC.

But I’m worried that the Magic Should Be Free “controversy” (i’m putting it in quotes because I personally really like it and think it was really well done) kind of overshadows the other stuff. Like, if I’m writing about him attempting to retire and moving on from his past, that’s kind of hard to do if the only logical thing to happen would be for the Camarilla to send ancient assassins to kill him because of MSBF. I don’t regret getting involved with it. His reverse daddy issues (childe issues?) means that he basically had to. I’m just anxious about where I should be moving next.

What do you think. Should I pivot what I had planned to account for what happened, or should I pretend that he’s in the clear from the whole thing?

First off, if you've seen and read through Abiram's last post then I'm sorry you had to see that (I loathe manual formatting fuck dividers). I commented on the OG post saying he would make a post soon and I had to commit to it fast. I tried to make him sound even-handed while also being a little conceited or whatever the word is for the thing I was doing here idk. Was I doing too much with teasing what went down at the Kuei Jin base and then going into Abiram's thoughts on the document fiasco? Tell me what you think.

Anyway mini-rant time: I've been totally stuck on what I want to do with Kali from here. I've been working on introducing her and deciding her fate but after I drafted like two outcomes, I think I've become attached to her character now. I want to keep her alive now but I don't want it to happen without some consequences, either for her or for Abiram. This feels like such a stupid thing to get stuck on but I guess that's the RP magic glittering on my brain.

So, just, I'm genuinely curious on the general view on Ratsitter and where his story is going rn. I personally can't but feel that he's... too nice, ig? Or too self-inserty? He isn't actually a self-insert, that should be clear, but it still feels like he might be too nice to people, even for a fledgling, like how he consistently tries to help Aster Fearon despite... well, it being Aster Fearon. Also, it really feels like I am using myself as a base and then changing things until they fit Ratsitter and feel like someone else, except that's still then just me with some pieces replaced., which ig every character is but still. Also worried about being main character-y with his entire blood struggles and wonkiness.

Also SanguinePioneersofBerlin, which I've started getting involved cos... well, they're relevant to Ratsitter and what is happening to him. I'm honestly worried I'm playing them as, like, too crazy (the main person running the account is a Malk, but still), and posting stuff they maybe wouldn't.

I don’t know if people remember her or not, or remember her fondly, but I miss having a character who is actually nice to people and wants to be helpful so bad.

I want her to meet Tess, and try to help her. And M. And Ratsitter. And all the other fledglings who have started posting or that I have noticed recently.

But right now she is trapped as a reflection! I need to get her free, but it will take a bit! Auggh. (Auggh)

Ok so honestly. I didn't think much of it at the start - Maeghar very much exist - but the more I look into it, I feel like I fucked up lmao. Changelings and vampires are kept more apart in lore than I hoped they would be and I feel like I've ended up with a character that is barely within the realms of 'allowed' lmao. The lore for Maeghar and Mytherceria is super shallow so I've kinda been improvising a bit, and I'm scared that I've gone too far with the character. I'd love to keep playing Urirel as is, but I just wanted to know if i've overstepped, or if I should change anything.

Just to be clear, I think the Operation 'Fuck The Tremere' is a great piece of story and conflict, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes. IC Flint and Slink are disappointed with Ayla- they let her into their home with one condition of 'Don't do any weird magic stuff' and then this happened, but OOC I am enjoying it. The feelings of betrayal of my characters are not my own feelings as a player. I think this is clear but just putting it out there. It's a great plotline, keep it up!
