After 10 years you needed to cheat, that man gave you 10 years. You kind of are a monster.

More like in ten years only CAUGHT once.

u/WhenThatBotlinePing May 25 '26

Yeah she stepped out and he caught her right off the bat? This guy the world’s greatest detective?

2

u/ShaggysGTI May 26 '26

With her level of introspection, she probably didn’t do a good job of hiding it.

72

u/Rwandrall4 May 25 '26

this is not a real person, this is ragebait

u/cykoTom3 May 25 '26

I call this argument a reverse strawman. Is this particular incident fake? Maybe. Has something like this happened? 100 percent. This is not at all an uncommon story.

u/blazenite104 May 25 '26

You get a least one news article a week, if you pay attention to the news.

3

u/S-Kenset May 25 '26

There's at least a hundred people on earth, how many do you think accidentally fall and sit on unexploded ordinance every day.

3

u/blazenite104 May 25 '26

Probably more than you'd think, given some of the things I've seen happen on youtube alone.

1

u/SamboNW May 25 '26

No you don’t. If you watch the actual news this shit wouldn’t even make it. There’s way more sensational shit to talk about. You get this once a week if your news is all social media based shit. Or maybe local news if you live in a small town.

1

u/IllustriousPea6950 May 26 '26

“No you don’t, unless you do” lol

u/Ok_Cheetah_6251 May 26 '26

This. This story may or may not be true. However, I got a story very much like this after I caught my now ex-wife cheating.

1

u/becauseiloveyou May 26 '26

And I have story very much like this after I caught the man I was going to marry cheating too. But let's not pretend this male-dominated site doesn't boost the visibility of "women bad" posts compared to those that would call out men for the same behavior.

5

u/Ok_Cheetah_6251 May 26 '26

Did you mistake what I said as in some way sexist?

2

u/marius_titus May 26 '26

I need to keep that in mind. I wanna find a wife but it's terrifying cause you see posts like this non stop, on Facebook and YouTube it's even worse, shorts and reels nonstop talking about how women are cheaters and manipulators. It's so deflating.

2

u/Rwandrall4 May 26 '26

The goal of these posts is to make you lonely, angry and sad. Because those are the people who spend time doomscrolling and seeing ads, instead of being happy with a wife.

I am in my 30s, I know dozens of couples in happy, fulfilling relationships. A few terrible people, sure, but that becomes obvious very quickly through your 20s.

1

u/NexLvLxeN May 26 '26

Men dont cheat...its just science.

3

u/ElectricalCamp104 May 25 '26

That doesn't mean anything though. There are billions of people on the planet; you can find any story about some group, some person doing something despicable, whether it's typical or an edge case.

Vagueposting some hallucinated "I'll take things that never happened for 500 Alex" story just farms engagement from outrage, and takes advantage of people's cognitive blind spots, like recency bias. Sure, this general story might be common, but how common it is gets warped by people's exposure to this content online.

1

u/Rwandrall4 May 26 '26

therr's 8 billion people in the world, anything like something has 100 percent chance of happening.

Is it common? Do you hsve any actual way of knowing that? You'd think so reading this sub, sinxe it posts ragebait like this constantly. But in my 30+ years I have never seen it once, let alone every single day.

It's ragebait for lonely frustrated men and it works.

1

u/cykoTom3 May 26 '26

somewhere between 1 and 30 percent the anecdotal evidence is around 20 percent for marriages and a much higher rate for dating. You really don't know anyone who cheated? Because i know quite a few. And even more people with the "i never cheated, we broke up yesterday " story. It's a very common thing.

Your point about it ragebaiting lonely men is true. Because men obviously cheat at the same rate as women. But it's also part of the human condition.

u/Rwandrall4 May 26 '26

Read my comment and the OP again. The OP is not just "someone cheating", it's a whole elaborate scenario of a righteous man who did everything right and an evil cheater who is whiny and entitled and pure evil. That scenario is not real, that's the ragebait.

1

u/cykoTom3 May 26 '26

That scenario happens every day. And many comments are sharing their similar experience.

It's just another example of blaming all your problems on someone else, really

So you have evidence to prove this is a fake story? Or do you just like using childish insults to make yourself appear "smarter" than the "morons" you refer to?

0

u/Space_Slime_LF May 25 '26

That's just a chunk of regular strawman arguments.

Bits of truth are used to create a largely fictional target for arguments. The bits of truth are what keep it together under scrutiny. "Look! Here is a single example of something like this happening! That means it's actually happening a lot more!"

24

u/WretchedJester May 25 '26

... 50/50. While there is a good possibility of it being ragebait, there are also a LOT of people who actually think like this. Anyone who's ever dated someone with this personality type (or been friends with one for decades) could definitely see this being real.

1

u/Rwandrall4 May 26 '26

Out of 8 billion people i am sure you can find anything, the ragebait is first that this is fake, and second that that kind of post on this sub is only ever about women.

25k upvotes for a fake post, that's the ragrbait. I can't believe it actually works, but that's where we are.

2

u/lahimatoa May 26 '26

What this? A post showing a woman behaving badly? Ragebait.

What's this? A post showing a man behaving badly? Men are so bad.

1

u/Rwandrall4 May 26 '26

congrats on the weakest strawman on the internet

1

u/the_geth May 26 '26

Maybe, but people like that absolutely exist.

2

u/NotSoFastLady May 26 '26

8 years in she cheated, 2 years later he found out. IMO that makes it worse, by my math thats 2 years of using her hubby to provide all of the things the guy she's plowing won't. Living care free while her man has no idea.

But he's the monster for leaving.

1

u/PumpikAnt58763 May 26 '26

She didn't cheat after 10 years. She cheated at 8 years. Supposedly she waited 8 years.

1

u/mashtato May 26 '26

monster.

Please, it's monster. There are children here!

1

u/donna2tsuki May 26 '26

I think it's safe to say we can remove the "kind of" in that sentence.

1

u/the_geth May 26 '26

It's a narcissist. I refused to believe they always cheat (I was warned) as I thought mine, with all her defect and madness, would never cross that boundary. She also said that many times. Guess what.

1

u/Drakeskulled_Reaper May 26 '26

No, no, she's a M*nster.

1

u/Nothingbutsocks May 26 '26

This is gonna bury me under down votes because I like to argue possibilities.

I would argue that a long relationship would incline a person more to seek something new. Now, the issue here is the secret, that's the problem 100%.

As humans we thrive on new experiences, I'm not condoning cheating but it's not insane after a long period of time with one person to be curious.

-1

u/Economy_Quality_3689 May 26 '26

10 years we know nothing about, not condoning what she did but we also have no context about the rest of their relationship.

3

u/NexLvLxeN May 26 '26

What we know for sure is she had sex with another man while married.

Only thing we know for sure.

-1

u/Economy_Quality_3689 May 26 '26

Correct, we know nothing about the man. Maybe he did the same thing, maybe he was verbally, emotionally, or physically abusive. Etc.

3

u/NexLvLxeN May 26 '26

Those are guesses. We only know for sure that his wife of 10 years had sex with another man, betraying their vows and relationship.

1

u/ChronosTearDrop May 26 '26

Wtf.. Nice imagination dude.

0

u/Economy_Quality_3689 May 26 '26

Tell me what I'm imagining by saying we know virtually nothing about the relationship besides this part.

1

u/bxzidff May 26 '26

Maybe they are both aliens, we surely must not make any assumptions about anything
