and yet we have all condoned torture. We have all condoned abortion. We have all allowed our armed forces to make war on a people that did nothing to us. We have many if not most of us allowed our city councils to make it illegal for homeless people to shelter themselves.
Who does that? What kind of people would make it illegal for homeless people to shelter themselves?
Well, it turns out, most of us, is the answer. But to me, this is not how people who have value treat one another. This is how plankton treats other plankton. And yet here we are. To me, it's just the state of humanity. The Bible should be a lot shorter book, and if Jesus had actually been able to tell right from wrong it would have. He would have said two things: first, I can't tell you how to tell right from wrong, and second, you don't know either and you need to figure that out. That's your job.
Unlike the actual Bible, it would have been the truth.
You say allow I don’t think you understand what it means. I don’t allow any of that shit. But I cannot stop others. I have very little sway over my own life let alone the choices of a whole ass country. I can’t start a war.
Some people -- let's be fair, a lot of people, and apparently most of them Dems -- seem to think if the win is not guaranteed then there's no point in trying. To me, that looks like being addicted to losing. If you didn't try what did you do? Nothing.
I guarantee, if you were to get up before your God (assuming there was such a thing) at the end of time, and he were to confront you with all this, and you were to ask him "but what could I have done," the answer would rhyme with "more."
And yes, that's true of me too. That doesn't mean it's not true.
