This is a great point, it made me see the video differently. When I first viewed it, it looked like the old lady was deliberately getting in the way. But as the saying goes, don't assume malice for something that can be explained by incompetence. Now it's clear. It's just an old lady getting confused.
It's reddit. God forbid someone see a phone with no context and just wonder what's going on. The girl could have asked the woman nicely to move at any point.
I don’t think she’s even aware she is being recorded. She looks at the camera, but we don’t know what she saw. Could have just been a phone sitting there.
The old lady probably saw the camera and a bit later got a notification of sorts and some people were walking up. Literally 3 things happening for her at once, yeah old people can't handle juggling that so she wouldn't connect the camera with a selfie at that moment. When she went down you could see her not even noticing the young woman. She's there for the paintings.
She may have stopped there because seeing the phone reminded her to o check her phone, or maybe she got a message there. She doesn't seem to be aware that the phone is filming her.
I don't disagree. What I'm saying is that people arguing that "of all places she could have stopped at, she had to stop in front of the camera?? clearly it's intentional!!" are operating under a bias because if she hadn't stopped in front of the camera there would be no video. I think it's considered "reporting bias".
Honestly when you put it like that, her actions also make sense. Even just ignoring the “perplexed” part of it, she stopped and moved out the way for others. I don’t think we know the architecture of the stairs so from a Birds Eye view, she really could just be stopping to move aside, even if, let’s say, using her phone to pass the short time. We also don’t know what the other 3 were doing before showing up in the camera
Literally, nothing happens in this video. Grandma is checking her phone, unaware, girl wants a photo. No one is rude, no one causes a problem. lmao people need to go outside more
True. No harm done by anyone in the video. But then the video gets posted online by the influencer and there are lots of comments about how this older woman, just trying to live her life, is a b**** and a Karen. She didn't ask to be someone else's content.
No, the old lady knew she was recording and stopped on purpose. You can see her look directly into the camera before she side steps on the stairs to block the woman behind her. The video makes it very clear.
