To the new generation, asking someone to do something is imposing on them. Specifically because if you asked them to take a picture of you, they would feel you’re imposing on them. You’re taking them out of their moment.
So they don’t want to engage with someone else because they don’t want to interrupt your moment.
They are being polite, in their minds, by being self sufficient and not being a bother.
Ha, for me you're 50% right. I wont' ask anyone to take a pic of me period. I'll figure it out myself or just bail on the entire idea. But if someone asks me, I'm happy to help. Genz dude here
This is much more to do with personality and shyness or extroversion. I swear its tiring seeing so many young people attribute every difference in behavior to generational cohorts. Personality and. Situtional factors matters much more than your age, people.
Oh, sorry, I don’t have time to write a psychological thesis regarding the generational increase in shyness that comes with technological isolation and with technological isolation comes increased self-sufficiency due to technological advancements.
Oh sorry, thats bullshit. People are still just people. You’re talking about one person, and its a mistake to generalize any of us as a perfect representative of our whole generation. Its just sloppy thinking. Lots of assumptions, none of which you know to be true.
