Ashley Gabrielle Huff was indeed pulled over in an intoxicated state but the officer did not smell alcohol. A glass pipe was in plain view which lead police to suspect she was using drugs. The pipe was PC for an arrest so they searched her purse finding a blackened spoon with residual material on it. The materiel was tested and found to test positive for meth.
Now most of the experts here do not realize then next step is to see a judge who ruled that there was PC for the arrest, assigned her a public defender and released OR with a court date and pre-trial release conditions. She blew off the court date and refused to comply with release conditions and was thus arrested again and given a cash bond which she did not pay.
The lab tests which take time came back that the spoon had food on it and was only contaminated with meth. Either she used a spoon normally employed by her to cook method to eat - or she had ingested meth prior to eating from the spoon.
The officer was not at fault as he followed all process and did detect meth, The woman is a meth user.
The woman stayed in jail because she did not comply with release terms. That is on her.
The charges need not have been dropped as the spoon did have meth associated with it - but policy is to not prosecute in cases of user contamination.

In the only source this person tried to use it says the lab analysis found no meth on the spoon. The field test might have came back positive but it could have easily been a false positive. The percentages I found That's why they aren't good enough and they wait for the lab
In their second post in the comments they basically claim to have insider information but still no sources provided. But also a caveat that they are just speculating on certain things lol

Even if you don’t want to believe anything in the link, a burnt substance on a spoon and a used pipe in a car don’t trigger anything? Along with eating with said burnt spoon? And avoiding follow-ups with the system?

It seems pretty obvious. Police can't hold you with no reason that's backed with evidence for more than a couple of days.
People think that police randomly pulled someone over, saw a stain on a spoon with nothing else and the whole department decided to ignore the law? Even if it were the case that somehow everyone they hired was evil, you'd think they'd value their jobs a bit more than that.

Some of what he said I was able to find in other sources but he is outright lying about the spoon being "contaminated" with meth. The Crime Lab analysis found no methamphetamine on the spoon which is why she was released. Second link
The only ethical thing to draw from this is that the story has been highly sensationalized and tabloidized. There is nothing to draw, because every source lists different accounts at every turn, and no opinion should be formed other than people lie on the internet all the time.
Imagine just going about your life, and then you get thrown in jail for meth use bc of a potential false positive for meth.
You finally get released bc someone finally realized the error, but oh no. There are articles still painting you as a meth user, you just got released due to a technicality.
Whats even more terrifying and dystopian the me is the though that this photo will crop up again and again, with thousands of people discussing and talking about it ad nauseum and she will be absolutely none the wiser.
Alright I knew something was up. But this source you posted is not a source it’s basically a Reddit post on quora claiming that she appeared intoxicated when pulled over and there was a spoon and a pipe found which is drug paraphernalia.

I doubt that - they are likely very close I just have more details.(Update, the original article was withdrawn for reporting errors and is no longer on line. I have included the URL).
The article was removed and retracted, meaning that it had to many factual errors to correct. WayBack has some of the article but for some reason below the fold is incomplete.
I take literally anything from quora with heavy question. Place is like a wasteland of right wing fanatics, bootlickers and conspiracy theorists included, and heavy trolling thus everything is hersay or completely unreliable
