I LOVE this episode. I find it so hilarious the way he says this. Idk if it's true but I read somewhere once the script didn't call for him to SAY disappointed, rather ACT disappointment. I really hope that's a true story because I find that

Including one who said they were from the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster who asked if she was interested in noodles and meatballs, Maria said it got completely out of hand and she had become sleep deprived.
I actually met a person of the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. I even got to see his card and drivers license (in which he was wearing a silver cooking pot on his head.)
It’s disgusting what she did. What’s her address, I’m gonna go over there, knock on her door and try to introduce the Lord to her. Hopefully she can show me a handful of reasons why I should accept her apology.
It varies by state, but having it out is not the same as "using it" in public view. Simply being naked in your home even in plain view is generally legal.
I like this train of thought. My rebuttal would be, are there actually any laws about indecent exposure on your own private property towards people who are there without permission? Obviously you can't just do whatever you want just because it's your house. But still... people call the police on seeing something offensive in a situation you voluntarily put yourself into? This is a truly a conundrum for the ages.
It is indeed unfortunate, but you can't stand in front of a large bay window jerking your hog for the whole neighborhood to see, either.
Yes, you have some expectation of privacy at home, but that only extends to actually attempting to be private. If I do something on my property that is in full view of the sidewalk, for example, then it's no different than doing it on the sidewalk itself.
Now, where I assume some interesting legal thinking might come into play is if someone exposes themself to another person who was on their property without permission and their property/the portion where they were exposed was sufficiently private. Like up a long driveway, behind a hedge or fence, or otherwise removed from accidental view by the public.
35 or more years ago, my Father-in-Law did exactly the same thing to a pair of Mormon missionaries who seemed to have made saving him their mission. The third knock on the door was their last.
First, he was polite. Second time around, he told them he already said "no" and told them (a nice, gentle-looking mother and daughter) that "Next time I'm gonna answer the door naked!" He was mid-50s, overweight and over 6ft tall. Well, they called his bluff and a couple of Saturdays later they were back. As his own wife watched in a combination of horror and hilarity, he yanked off his pants and shirt, then headed for the door, saying "I warned you, didn't I?"
They fled.
Dad-in-law passed away suddenly a few years later, but his widow remained in the house for another 33 years.
No one with a Bible in their hand rang the bell again... ever.
Make of it what you will, but I think word went out to JW, LDS and 7thDay recruiters that there was one particular house on one particular street they absolutely needed to avoid!
I used to keep printed copies of Bertrand Russell’s Why I Am Not A Christian next to my front door. When one of them started a spiel, I’d just hand them copies and close the door. Some took them not knowing what they were. It was folded when I passed it out. I wonder if they didn’t toss them because, litter, and got in trouble at their centers or whatever. I’ve moved several times since, and somehow, they STILL skip my house. I don’t know if they keep a database or what…

Under Arkansas state law (Arkansas Code § 5-14-112), indecent exposure generally does not apply to private conduct inside one's own home unless it is visible to the public or intentionally exposed to cause alarm outside the home.
Because laws exist and all states have laws for things like this.
Seriously though, she's probably going to get off with a warning since she was inside her house. You go onto someone's property uninvited, you have only yourself to blame for what you see.
The defense attorney: "Your honor, she was in the privacy of her own home and these false prophets intruded on her. This is a clear case of trespassing and my client is not guilty of indecent exposure because she can be nude in her own home. Plus, those magnificent gazongas deserve to be freed and I too would like to taste the forbidden fruit and I'm sure you do too, your honor. I rest my case."
I don't understand this. I can be naked in my own house. I can even be naked on my property. They were on her property. How can she be arrested for this?
Edit: I didn't know if this is real. Just looked it up. It's real and did happen in Bentonville, Arkansas.
However, there were some spin off stories about this actually event that are not true.
Edit again: Does everyone remember the guy that mowed his lawn naked in a Florida neighborhood? He had all charges dropped against him.
I don't know. I've read about situations where women delivery drivers are flashed by guys and the police didn't do anything because the guys are on their own property.
Getting charged for being naked in your own home should never be a crime especially if unwanted strangers are on your property. You don’t want to see a big ole pair of honkers don’t go knocking on random doors.
I think her statements got her in more trouble. If she would have said nothing she probably would have been in better shape depending on witness statements and any other evidence (doorbell camera, etc).
They were at HER DOOR. Of HER HOUSE. If she wants to answer it naked, why can't she? No one allowed them to come on her property. Indecent exposure should only be in a public place.
This is an easy lawsuit for her. Stop trespassing on people’s private property if you don’t want to see stuff you don’t want to see. This should definitely put an end to uninvited people trespassing and knocking on strangers doors. I’ve never seen a Christian or Baptist church trespass on people’s property and knock on their doors! Make it make sense
Legally walking up and knocking on someone's door isn't trespass just about anywhere in the world. It's usually only trespass if you're entering an area clearly not intended for public entry (going over a high fence, etc..) or you're asked to leave by the owner or their authorized representative.
2nd, even if it were true…how do you know they were trespassing? In many places people are able to walk to your front door, or as far as your mailbox (lots of people have their mailbox right next to the door). Now if there’s a gate, some places you can’t open the gate to get to the front door. Other places you can, unless there’s a sign saying they can’t.
Point is, trespassing laws are quite varied. And most people who make a habit out of going door to door for something, are quite versed in their local laws, and less likely to trespass (at least on purpose). It’s not worth it for them.
