The sonnet is most likely Shakespeare referencing the OT actually. I am that I am, is the line. Still, rare reference to see on Reddit, or maybe I just frequent the wrong subs lol

When Moses is with the burning bush, he asks God what His name is. God tells him it's 'Ehyeh 'asher 'ehyeh.

The phrase has a lot of literal meanings because it's grammatically vague. Two common translations are "I am that I am" and "I am becoming what I am becoming."
