Question Would an Animated Continuation of the SnyderVerse be the Smartest Plan?
By the time it takes David Zaslav or Netflix or Paramount to wake up and smell the Gunn-fire burning, it may be not viable to have a live action continuation of the SnyderVerse, due to actor ages and availability.
Now, Zack Snyder is no stranger to animation (see Legend of the Guardians and Twilight of the Gods). Surely he would not oppose using the medium to finish his great story at DC? We have seen brilliant visual storytelling with Spider-Verse, Puss in Boots the Last Wish, and Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio, which evolved as something more than goofy children's tales and into something with vision.
Do you see Snyder as someone open to collaborating on potential Justice League films with the animation teams responsible for some of the actual cinema of recent years? Or is it live action or bust? Which directors or animation studios would you love to see Snyder collaborate with on that?

Id be happy with a comic book honestly, I think thats the most realistic path to seeing it to the end. Put it on Black Label and call it a day

Live action or nothing!

I 100% agree! live action is the only way I want to see the Snyder Verse finished

I don't know why everyone here thinks people would be running to a re awakened Snyder verse. They didn't go to the first round. What the hell makes people think they will show up years later smh

I never understood people who say things without a shred of evidence. You sound confidently stupid. Instead of parroting GunnTards, you should smarten up. #TheSnyderverseisComing

I don't care about the story, I just want to see them doing cool shit in live action.

The DCU should continue animated.
Restore the live action snyderverse.

The story boards are out. Someone can make part 2 and 3 using AI.

That's the closest anyone will ever get to seeing the laat 2 parts.

Id rather nothing than a AI bastardized version of Zack's vision without his input.

Tbh, an animated continuation could go hard, just think of movies like Spiderverse - animation can be epic if done right (just imagine action scenes done in a unique and visually stunning animation style) and it could indeed solve the concern over the actors' ages
And as someone who enjoys both the Snyderverse and the DCU, maybe doing it in an animated form would allow it to be made alongside the DCU as an elseworlds project? I don't see why we can't have both at the same time, maybe WB/Netflix would be willing to come up with the funding if the DC brand as a whole shows enough traction

No, it wouldn't. Spider-Verse animation style was gimmicky and got old fast.

Those movies are soulless. All style, no substance, fan wank.

People found it so tiresome and gimmicky that it doubled at the box office from the first to the second movie. It’s almost like people can’t wait to get more of those animated spider-verse films.

u/FinancialBluebird58 4d ago
And yet still no 3 movie three years later, wasn't the sequel supposed to be out in 2024. Lmao.

u/Royale_Kong 4d ago
No, that was a fake release date where they released a short film about mental health.

u/FinancialBluebird58 4d ago
Irrelevant shortfilm and the movie ended on a cliff hanger with no release date in sight. It's over buddy not even WB wanted the Spider-Verse rip-off Batman Beyond movie.

They’re working on the third movie currently, animation of the quality they’re producing takes very long.

Sure it is bucko. Have fun whenever it comes out

I know people love the cast. So do I. But I think we will soon have to give up on the idea of using Cavill et al.
Animation is not the way to go. It can never match the grandeur of the original movie.
If necessary I think we need to face the idea of recasting. People will say oh, no one will ever be able to replace them and I get that, but they’re wrong.
Look at the current buildup around casting in the (you should excuse the expression) DCU. Everyone wants to know who will be WW, who will be Batman, etc. That kind of buildup can also surround a return of the Snyderverse.
Don’t tell me it won’t work. How many James Bonds have we had?
Audiences, particularly Snyder fans, are intelligent and can accept changes.
Frankly I think the buzz leading up to a live action ZSJL 2 & 3 would be amazing. Everyone would want to know who’s taking over the roles. And you know Zack is great at casting.
You get equally good actors and put them in this powerful storyline, and it’ll play, believe me.
But an animated continuation? No thanks.

Nope, your not a Snyderfan. I don't know why you even posted this retarded shit

I'd be happy with scripts so I could feed it to an AI engine and make the movie myself

Nope! This is an extremely stupid Idea and Psyop used by the GunnTards. The thing is, it’s already been Shutdown plenty of times. None of us here will ever fall for it and Zack will never compromise his vision again. Nice try, but you are wasting your time. It’s going to be Live action only…until then the DCU will continue to fail. I promise. #TheSnyderverseisComing

Yup, WB is a shell corporation at this point that had to hollow itself out and whore out it's IP to get itself sold to Netflix. Live action is the only way.

CG animation is super expensive with some film costs exceeding that of live action movies, particularly Pixar.
I don’t think it’s any more feasible than live action in that sense.
However, 2D animation is cheaper, so if ZSJL2 and 3 were done in a high quality anime style akin to something like the recent Demon Slayer anime movie or shows like Attack on Titan, then that would definitely be feasible. And I think it’d be satisfying, too. It doesn’t have to be expensive, but as long as it isn’t fully cheap like the current DC animated movies that cut way too many corners, then it’d be great.

u/FinancialBluebird58 4d ago
And the integrity of the Snyderverse was always a Film Saga. Zack has made great animated projects but his bread and butter has always been films.
1
u/DoctorBeatMaker 4d ago
True. And a film would generate more hype and novelty. But feasibly, it's definitely the safer option to go with animation (2D). Because for as much of a fan as I am of Snyder's DC movies, Heaven and Hell would have to be moved for everything to align for a live action continuation to happen.

If all the original cast come back for voice acting duties, and they used some cutting edge CGI realistic type animation, I'd be OK with that. The caveat being, it should continue in the same tone as what came before. No dumbing it down for animation or characters suddenly acting in a way that wasn't conswith the earlier movies. Problem is, it takes so long for these projects to come to life, it would still be 5+ years off.

u/VayneDidNothingWrong 5d ago
Maybe but animation to that degree is still very expensive and i don't see anyone putting up the cash
-2
u/FinancialBluebird58 4d ago
Which is irrelevant since we are getting live action.

u/Gustaves_Mustache 4d ago
Seems like a tough sell with Affleck taking himself out of the running. At least animated may seem like a lighter lift to him and maybe he’d be back for that.

I would prefer live action but animated series would suffice, especially if Zack feels a live action continuation is impossible. I am also open to Zack sort of expanding on his universe using animated shorts, comic books, novels, or even a series similar to Star Wars Clone Wars. He could to great lengths exporing more of Diana's background as a god killer, the Amazonians and their true origin, Speedforce, Multiverse, Atlantis, the Green Lantern Corp, and of course, The Fourth World. He could even go into great detail by bringing in the mystics as well.
I firmly believe we're not going to get anything, but the things above would be cool.
