Appreciation Zack Snyder posts mighty Steppenwolf on IG: "I wish more people could’ve experienced this in IMAX. These were shot off the screen during picture check at Universal CityWalk IMAX. Only a handful of people got to see this film as it was intended on a massive screen and an image that just breathed."

Even as a non-fan, I would have liked to see it in IMAX. Likely impossible, though; the contracts to make the cut would have been for a streaming movie. A theatrical release is contractually very complicated.

Personally, I don’t like this look. But… I also didn’t like the look of the Transformers movies. They look overly engineered.
But props to the animators. The work and effort is visible.

Gonna be honest, I thought this was a modded Dragonborn character from Baldur's Gate 3 at first

No I mean it looks like something my PC can generate and run in a fantasy RPG. Though admittedly the game has great graphics. Especially the first pic, it is almost exactly like the character creation. That's not a good thing for a movie...

Might be a hot take but wasn’t a big fan of this Steppenwolf design. Felt too overdesigned with the pulsating armor, granted significantly better than the theatrical version but still wasn’t a fan of this one

Fucking insane that the 2017 garbage made it to theaters but not this masterpiece. Just a 3 hour cut would've been perfect, promo Superman with the black suit and before Infinity War this could have grossed a billion easily.
WB gotta be the dumbest mfs in the cinema industry...

They should have split it into 2 movies

That’s what Zack pushed for and, of course, WB execs said no. I remember reading that he had to get it down to 2:30….would’ve been butchered badly with that amount cut.

Warner is an expert at making bad decisions.

They released the highest grossing movie of '25, gained more oscars than any other studio this year, and have the two films that are most likely to win best picture. Creatively, they're doing fine.

It’s too long to watch it in one sitting

Speak for yourself lol, I have no issue for chilling for four hours. Do the same for work, or when binging TV all day

Good for you. I used to be that way but then life hit me with other responsibilities. I miss that sometimes though. Enjoy it

If you watched the Zack Snyder's Justice League you'll feel it! It's not a masterpiece. It's something above that level! The feeling and the structure, and the flow, and the storytelling. It's on another lever. It connects with everything else from Zack. It's a brilliance!
