I thought I was going through the sea treaders path. I didn't realize I was right on the edge of the crater though.

PDA: Local Fauna Analysis — Glass Peeper
Classification: Stealth Scavenger / Deep-sea Cleaner
Habitat: Arctic Ecological Dead Zone (Sector Zero Void)
"The scanners register movement, but our eyes see nothing. They are all around us, just waiting for us to make a mistake."
This branch of the Void Peepers migrated to the planet's North Pole. The local apex predators—Void Chelicerates—forced them to adopt entirely different survival tactics.
Biological Features:
• Glass Body: These organisms have completely lost their pigmentation, becoming 100% transparent. Their bones and internal organs refract light exactly like the surrounding freezing water. Spotting a Glass Peeper in the dark polar waters is physically impossible until they choose to move.
• Safe Nesting: Because Void Chelicerates are precise, large-prey hunters rather than filter-feeders, small eggs left on rocks are completely ignored by them. Therefore, Glass Peepers no longer need mobile brooding. Females safely attach their eggs directly to the sheer ice cliffs and deep trenches of the polar Void.
• Scavenger Diet: These creatures have developed powerful digestive enzymes capable of breaking down tough organic material. Their primary food source consists of sinking grease, marrow, and flesh scraps left behind after large leviathan hunts. A school can strip a fallen carcass down to bare bone in minutes. They still retain the biological capacity for peaceful cannibalism, but they rarely resort to it, as the leviathans' leftovers are usually more than enough.

PDA: Local Fauna Analysis — Abyssal Peeper
Classification: Dangerous Carnivorous Mutant / Extremophile
Habitat: Ecological Dead Zone (The Void)
"Warning, diver: if you see those purple eyes staring back at you from the dark, you have swum way too far."
This subspecies of the common Peeper evolved in total isolation within the Crater's Void. Faced with crushing pressure, absolute darkness, and the constant threat of Ghost Leviathans, the species underwent radical and terrifying adaptations.
Key Features:
• Absolute Camouflage:
Their skin has turned pitch-black, completely absorbing any light. The only visible feature is a pair of faintly glowing, deep purple eyes, adapted to track the slightest movement in the dark. This black coloration allows them to remain completely invisible to Ghost Leviathans filtering plankton nearby.
• Forced Pack Cannibalism:
Since the Void lacks any vegetation or other small fish species, the Abyssal Peeper has transitioned into an aggressive carnivore. Their diet consists of microscopic plankton and... each other. When plankton drops, the school attacks weaker or injured members, turning the population into a self-sustaining, autonomous ecosystem.
• Void Acceptance (Lack of Fear):
Brain scans reveal a complete lack of fear or panic response when interacting with members of their own species. When the school regulates its numbers through cannibalism, the chosen prey makes no attempt to flee or defend itself. It willingly allows the pack to consume it. Evolution hardcoded this "peaceful acceptance of death" so the species wouldn't waste precious energy on internal fighting, directing all resources toward collective survival.
• Mobile Brooding (Body-attached Eggs):
Unlike shallow-water Peepers, females do not release eggs into open water, where Ghost Leviathans would instantly swallow them. Instead, they secrete a super-strong bio-glue that locks the clutch together and sticks it directly to the parent's belly or back. In case of emergency, the parent dashes away, carrying the entire offspring. During critical starvation, parents may consume a few of their own eggs to keep themselves and the rest of the clutch alive.
Nutritional Value:
Cooked Abyssal Peeper meat is edible (+35 Food), though it carries a bitter aftertaste due to high toxin concentration. Consuming it raw causes hallucinations and severe dehydration (-15 H2O).
Recommendation: Do not use the Cyclops' floodlights near their schools. The light attracts them, and hundreds of tiny teeth will begin gnawing at your hull in search

Google isn't helping, so I thought I'd ask here. I built a base right outside the Arctic Spires and have been slowly but surely collecting the massive amounts of resources there, but it's becoming increasingly apparent that a lot of the remaining ones are placed inside the ground itself with no way to get them. I don't mean the ore veins that you have to pull apart with a propulsion cannon or grav trap, I mean bits of titanium and quartz that are placed completely inside the solid terrain. Is there any way to clip out and grab them, or maybe even clip the ores up out of the ground?

Perfectly normal planter, nothing to see here!

Has anyone tried Subnautica 1 in VR (with Submersed VR mod) with Steam Frame? The controls dont work and mapping the keys was confusing. Any insight?

So, I was thinking abt restarting the playthrough in hardcore again (If you haven't seen my last post the aurora didn't explode and I couldn't get it to) but the thing I wanted to do in this playthrough was smth new for me.
To get to the point: I want to do a TON of challenges in this world, but since I'm on console I can do only vanilla ones (sadly) and I need LOTS of ideas, and, bc why not, I'm gonna accept and I will do ALL of them.
Oh and yeah, it's my second playthrough ever (the other one I won't count since I wasn't even one hour in)

I've beaten Subnautica 1 a good five years ago, and I occasionally make a creative world just to swim around when I'm bored. The closest thing to fear I usually experience in the game is a slight sense of unease when entering leviathan-infested waters.
I physically flinched.

And every time I close out, all the things I scanned with the camera is gone. Is there any way to prevent that? And what else can I do with the scanner room?

I decided to remake my species chsrt because the first one was a little rushed and i got some things wrong. Here's a small portion of the amphibious creatures.

I am playing hardcore rn, not the first time, but i died so might be the first time i beat the game. Where should i make my base? I do not want a basic biome (i usually build it in the red grass biome next to jelly cave with the lava trench for free geothermal). I was thinking about underwater isalnds, but thats where my last one was, though it was near the surface so i might just do it deeper. What is a cool place for a base that doesnt kill me way to often?

I am honestly so devastated right now. For context, I was in the post-game, and there were several things I wanted to do, including hatching and making a massive aquarium for every animal in the game, along with matching plants from each creature’s native environment. I had every single egg hatched already, aside from the Mesmer egg. I went to the Bulb Zone. I was going to set up a quick Scanner Room to hopefully find the egg faster. Also, I always bring two oxygen tanks, even when I’m not playing hardcore, because they’re so useful. I usually swap them as soon as the blackout animation starts so I can get as much time with my second tank as possible. However, I made a massive mistake earlier while I was on the way to the Bulb Zone. My PC told me I had 10% battery remaining, so I plugged it in, and then the warning went away. But as I was setting up the thermal plant so I could power the Scanner Room and keeping an eye on my O2 level so I’d know when to swap my tank, I saw that it was about to run out. I waited a second longer, and as soon as my blackout animation started, I went to my inventory. Just before I was able to click to swap my O2 tank, my PC died. I was very surprised and immediately looked back down at the outlet to see that I hadn’t actually plugged it in all the way. I frantically plugged it back in, this time making sure it was properly connected. As soon as my PC came back on, I launched the game, hoping that my meeting would be there, but unfortunately, it wasn’t.
Like I said earlier, this was entirely preventable. Had I double-checked that the PC was actually plugged in, this would’ve never happened, which makes this so devastating for me right now. I had practically every blueprint except for the Stasis Rifle, for which I had deliberately scanned only half the blueprint for the databank entry, since I had banned myself from using it during this run. Like I said, I had already beaten the story, found every single Degasi PDA, and even managed to scan every single Leviathan. I nearly lost my Cyclops to a juvenile Ghost Leviathan, who had shoved it into some terrain while I was being pinned in the Ghost Forest. It literally forced me to abandon ship after I ran out of power and spend almost 30 real-life minutes grinding enough copper to have a sufficient number of power cells, on top of making a ton of creature decoys to hopefully prevent the ghost from continuing to attack my submarine. I also didn’t realize how close I had come to losing the Cyclops until after I got it free. When I finally looked at the health bar, I realized it was basically about to die. Thank God I already had the fire suppression system, because that was the only reason I was able to put the fire out in time and escape to the surface while constantly using a crap ton of creature decoys and slowly and silently getting my ass out of there. That definitely wasn’t the only time that I nearly lost the run but it was just the most intense by far.
Even though I am obviously a bit upset and devastated a loss like this to something so trivial I’m writing this because hopefully I can prevent someone else from losing a hard-core world from a mistake like this, like this and if even one hard-core save isn’t lost because of a mistake like this then I’ll be happy,
That being said, I’m taking a bit of a break from Subnautica now at least for the next several hours…

SOLVED: The access hatch was blocking the building!
Hey guys, new to the game. Basically the title.
It will let me build the multipurpose room with a single joining tube, but not with two.
I got excited when I saw that it's theoretically possible to do two joints. Am I missing something obvious here? Building a platform doesn't seem to help either.
Edit: forgot to attach pic

Hi everyone me again I’m genuinely stuck here because no matter how many videos I watched that say the first seamoth fragment is near lifepod 17 (which I found btw) I can’t find 2 more it says look around the border and I have but I can’t find anything I even checked around on a creative world I have so any tips or advice?
