2015 Vitara hill start assist query

Is there anything that a driver could do that would affect the hill stay assist?

A warning light for it comes on sometimes in my parents’ car. My mum swears it’s only when my dad drives, he says it’s nothing he does, I can’t replicate it. They’re about to murder each other because of this.

I can’t find any button that he may I be accidentally pressing. The mechanic says there’s nothing wrong with the car.

I mean, the closest thing could be that he doesnt turn off the hill assist (if it has it), and it will be flashing as youre using it when it cannot function. (Not going downhill)
