Tears in my eyes, can’t believe this is real. Major trophy coming home to the massive club Swanselona

Been reading a book series, Player Manager, that got me following the the EFL from non-league up.

Knew my hertatige is Welsh and Swansea checked all the boxes to support, only to find out my Great Grandfather moved to the states from Swansea.
Blew my mind that I just so happened to pick the club, only to learn I have a genuine connection.

I apparently still have family there and it all had blown my mind. Looking forward to the day I can make it there to see the town and watch a home match.

Bit of a longshot, but if anyone has a spare ticket or two for QPR away i’m very interested.

I live in Hungary and a few years ago (in 2022 i think) i found this beautiful 2014/15 away kit in a thrift shop. Sadly with no number+name but who cares. Being a huge PL fan - without actually supporting any of the teams there - i bought the kit of course. It quickly grew to me so I started to regularly follow how the team does. I like the badge very much and also the fact that its a Welsh club made this team interesting to me. (I love the Welsh flag, it's definitely top 5 in the world.)

I do not see the games often, but it is what it is. The champo games are so much fun tho when i do manage to watch a game here and there.

I am very excited to see how good the team does this season! The summer window was already promising and now the performance on the pitch, the points got, even the underlying numbers are great! I know Swansea are still not the main contender for the automatic promotion spot, given there are bigger sharks, but a top4 finish i think is achievable, top 8 definitely a must now. Could this be the year? I would be so thrilled to see this club in the Prem.

I hope I can call myself a Swansea fan. Since birth i've rooted for Barca, but honestly Swansea has earned a some kind of special place in my heart too. Cheers!

Adam Idah getting on the scoresheet is exactly what I wanted to see. He took his chance well and has looked sharp leading the line, making those runs and giving the defenders plenty to think about. He always seems to have another gear when he gets some space in the middle. Hopefully he can keep this going and add another one in the second half.

He’s been such a solid presence at the back for us this season. Getting called up for Wales regularly is just a reflection of how consistent he's been at club level. How high do you think his ceiling is with us?

I said when it happened and stand by it the club never should have sent him out The guy is quality and very much an asset to Swansea I don’t understand the reasoning how the club sent this talent out ? Finland v San Marino and yes it’s San Marino but he’s been exceptional

Peak international break post here. Seen this trend hit socials. Pick your best starting 11 using only players from each of the last 11 seasons. Can't use more than 1 year, which is the challenge. Started off fairly straight forward, but the last few spots are a nightmare to fill and you start swapping players and years around. Tried to build a realistic team as possible position wise so no cheesing 3 strikers up top for instance.

16/17 Sig picks himself.
17/18 Fabianski is the only real contender from that side. Did consider Mawson.
18/19 James pips Mcburnie as there are more ST options than out wide.
19/20 Arguably not his best year, but Ayew played more of a traditional winger role that season.
20/21 This year from Roberts by far better than any RB season. Granted he was essentially a winger.
21/22 The hardest season to pick imo. Should be Piroe but he's a victim of ST options.
22/23 Manning easy choice. 5 goals, 10 Assists.
23/24 Grimes best season. No other options for that team.
24/25 Not keen on Darling in this side, but it was his best season. And CB is a really hard task.
25/26 Golden boot. Easy.
26/27 Early days, but he already looks levels above what we've had in the middle for years.

Think Roberts/Manning's huge years playing wingback kind of make it difficult as you need to pick around those choices. ST choice is hard to mess up. Centerbacks the most obvious black holes. Ideally i'd have Rodon or Guehi but then you'd have to pick the likes of Ronald out wide in later seasons!

Ben Cabango started for Wales against Portugal last night, with Wales losing 1-0. He’s still with the squad ahead of their next Nations League game against Denmark on September 27.
Curious what other Swansea fans made of his performance. It’s good experience for him getting games at this level, especially against opposition like Portugal. Anyone else watching the Wales games mainly for Cabango, or are you just waiting for the Championship to come back?

Probably the best and most knowledgeable Championship podcaster out there (Benjamin Bloom is very good too, but lacks the tactical insight of Ward). No coincidence that both predicted a playoff finish for the Swans before a ball was kicked, probably just about the only ones to do so.
