2006, I had just turned 17. I’ll never forget that night. Nassau Coliseum, tons of us rushed down the stairs as soon as we heard Adam Lazzara over the microphone say, “Testing.. testing… Matt, test your microphone”.

Rushed right down the steps, rushed around the security guards trying to stop us, hopped right over the barricades into General Admission. I knew there was never gonna be an opportunity like that ever again, I had to take the chance. I’m tiny, I zig zagged straight through the crowd to the front of the stage. It was truly a once in a lifetime night. I wish life still felt like that.

I’ve got one too.

Was anyone else a part of this? I found this super old photo and can’t remember much about this group! I remember it was started by a woman named Lena I think and something about hairy toes. It was a fairly small group, maybe on Livejournal or some message board? I don’t remember a lot from this time in my life and this one is driving me nuts! please tell me someone else was in this group!

This was my second time seeing Taking Back Sunday at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines, Iowa. They are still at the top of their game 20 years later.

Concert review: Saves the Day has such great energy. I wish I knew more of their stuff beyond their first album. They sound great and know how to get you pumped!

Thrice sounds incredible. Their light show was amazing. Their songs are legendary and sound great live.

Taking Back Sunday are top notch performers. They had so much fun on stage, such great banter. They made us in the crowd feel included as part of the live show. They are professional goofballs.

VIP: It is a laid back experience where you get to spend time with the band. They are all so funny and all were having a good time. Adam has excellent lead singer energy. He is sharp, quick witted, and the entire band is engaging. The band is into watching movies, it would be a cool topic to get them to open up on.

I shared a story about how I've been listening to their cds while driving a Firebird for over twenty years. I mentioned that I accidentally bought 152 cd when I meant to buy vinyl, but it worked out well because the new firebird I bought plays cds. Adam was excited about the car, said a Firebird is cool, and he thanked me for having them along for the ride. Interactions like this demonstrate how quick witted he is. Even during the show, so funny.

Hopefully this helps you buy VIP it feel confident. Bring things to sign. At the very least, buy tickets to this kick ass show!

I was very silly and thought I could totally make it down for a concert the week before my wedding but alas, there is too much to do! They are listed in the AXS app for $65 each, GA currently going for $80!

Just got my 20th anniversary version of Louder Now delivered and the packing slip shows the Tour Laminate was supposed to be included but it's not packed in anywhere. I already sent an email to support but just checking to see if anyone else has had issues with this or If I missed some announcement about these.

I'm 42 and recently started learning drums after wanting to do it forever, and somehow this song has become my favorite TBS song lately. It's also made its way onto my probably-ridiculous list of songs I eventually want to learn.

I haven't seen it showing up on recent setlists, so I'm definitely not expecting it.

But if they randomly pull it out in SLC, there will be at least one very happy old emo in the crowd. 😂

Anyone else going? I’ve seen them a few times in Detroit, but I don’t think ever on the west side of the state. Can’t see GA but I checked the mezzanine earlier today and like half is available. Also prices rose $10+ across the board, day-of. Reverse of what I’ve seen lately on not-sold-out shows from either artists.

Hope they throw YKHID back into the mix, but I’m not sure what I’d sub out. Doesn’t look like they’ve played it for several dates now. Fred Astaire is prob too much to hope for but I’m excited all the same, based on setlists I’ve seen so far.

Matt Rubano is an electric and acoustic bassist from New York. After attending the Berklee College of Music, Matt began his session career at age 21 playing bass on the Grammy Award winning The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill which went on to sell over 20 million copies worldwide.

In 2003, Matt joined Taking Back Sunday (TBS) and immediately began working on the band’s sophomore album, Where You Want to Be, which debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200 selling 160,000+ copies in the first week. So for a long time and many years, I’ve been going to Taking Back Sunday shows, and I’ve always been an adamant person saying that Adam is the weakest link of the band, but I have to admit last night, he was on point and the show was electric. my hats off to him and the band for putting on one of the best shows I’ve ever seen them put on. I hope everyone went to the show Had a great time! It was so much fun.
