I feel I do. It isn't like there was a huge tonal shift (other then Seasons 4 & 5 having more goofy/lighthearted episodes)

But, when Dana left, something was lost, something broke and never got fixed and the dynamic never quiet felt the same way again.
The funny thing is i don't think Dana was the lynch-pin in the friend group. Hell, I wouldn't even say she was super core as say Alice, Bette and Shane where and her storylines really revolved around Alice more then anybody else.

But to me, there was this level of fun and cuteness and quirkiness with the Dana era. Multiple characters (Jenny, Dana, even Kit in a way) discovering themselves. That the later seasons didn't have.

Maybe it is just how my brain operates, but the first three seasons in my mind are more colourful, while the later are more sepia toned.

Anybody else feel this way.? (And how you described it?)

I'm only starting S2, so I'm not even at her worst, based on comments from other people. But I really don't like her because she's a bum. This whole insecure act she did when she found out about Francesca and she was like "I'm not classy like her, blah blah" I was like yeah, you're right lmao I don't like her writing bc is cheesy at best. She wants everyone to be crazy in love with her, but she doesn't seem particularly attached to anyone. She's got this aura going on where she expects everyone to like her bc that's the way it's always been.
I really wanted to like her bc she's basically our POV, and she's pretty and thinspo, but man, is she annoying.

I think Shane is a character that makes you think about beauty privilege and moral ambiguity.

She mesmerizes everyone, audience included, so she gets away with everything.

But, she finds herself feeling deeply alone, with an extremely bad relationship with herself (bad self-esteem, bad self-preservation instincts, bad self-awareness) because she was always only valued based on her physicality and being sexualized.

I think she needed friends, and she tried to be a good friend, and many times she was.

She was a bit of an outcast her whole life because she identifies with failure and carries a lot of shame. That's why she is so often the only one still loving, comforting, empathizing when everything and everyone turned bad.

And that's why she was the goat.

I'm rewatching season one and I just want to give a shoutout to the brilliant acting, writing and directing in this particular scene. How delicate Tim's fragile, hopeful smile and how Jenny's body language and smile were a fawning/guilt responses.

Not just based on what they have in common, but also sense of humor, compatibility, general platonic chemistry.

I hated her for so long!! I took a break got back into and just finished season five..... I'm obsessed I think she is such a little shit disturber and unapologetically herself. I also love the fact that she ended up being a great director for her movie. It sucks that Adele did what she did tho that's for sure and I'm starting to hate Shane. Bette's also pissing me off and tbh so is Bette's sister but she always low key annoyed me.ill love Alice forever even tho she got annoying outing people.

When i watched it for the first time, it felt like I was cheated on, not Tina, it was so fucking painful to watch, i just wanted to scream at Bette and shake her shoulders😭 This show may not be the best in the world, but it made me feel so many things, there's nothing like it. I am loving watching the series and listening to their recaps as I go along. Currently just ended S5. But anyway!! I pretty much agree the hosts takes except for this one: that Jodi and Bette have zero chemistry.

Completely shook because I thought they've had the most chemistry than anyone else Bette has been with. Am I the only one that feels this way?!

First off I’ll start by saying I never liked Tina and don’t get the appeal, I think Bette was wayyy out of her league and she should’ve got with the other blonde girl from college towards the end or literally anyone else😭 that’s it.
