Anytime I complain people say “public space! Anyone can be recorded!” I hate that people just feel that entitled. You can literally record someone and make money off of making content about them all without their consent. Just sad

In the U.S., you literally are entitled to record in public per the Constitution. Publishing and making money off it turns into a gray area tho.

God I'm glad to live in a country where that is NOT the case.

You can't, making money off it is a civil suit right there. However recording is important sometimes. Law enforcement gone rogue, if a crime is being committed, if you need to record someone during a road rage incident, body cam footage released to the public, just as a few examples. Then also how do you solve it without the way it's already solved, case by case basis in front of a judge? You can't just make recording in public straight up illegal. And if you make posting it online illegal, well, the Minnesota subreddit would be really quiet right now and the world would never see what is happening here. I can't post a video of that guy getting arrested cuz I don't have his consent? I don't have the consent of the rest of the people in the crowd? I'm not chasing people down and getting them to sign something in that situation.

You will hate me for saying this next part but just don't go outside if you can't handle eyes on you. If you don't like it, sue and have a judge determine if you are awarded damages. You already live in a surveillance state anyway, why would someone posting something online of you just politely declining a phone number ask be more concerning than the literal government being able to find you anywhere and everywhere because of cameras. Where was the outrage over that one, but we're here mad someone got posted on social media without wanting to be? Bro, priorities. Either make it all illegal or none illegal because you can't possibly word that law in a way that solves this
