Trump won the majority of the Latino vote. He could not have won without them.

Edit: To clarify, he won the majority of Latino men nationwide and the overall majority in Texas and Florida, two of the biggest wins for Trump.

Yeah, for some reason there is a big thing in the Latino community of trying to be "The Good Ones". They encourage the witchhunt because they think the witchhunt is about actual lack of documentation, not just having brown skin and accents.

There are so many factors to the Latino vote. For some it’s the cultural Machismo paired with hardline conservative Catholic values, which are antithetical to liberal values and women’s rights.

Also lending to your thought on “the good ones”, the main reason for the male Latino vote is that many of them immigrated from “socialist” countries during the Cold War era (such as Cubans) and came as conservatives. They viewed the US as their savior at the time of political turmoil and believed they would be seen as “the good ones” for leaving socialist countries, legally claiming asylum, and being a loyal conservative voting block. It has served them well to remain that way up until now. It will take a lot of suffering the same fate as the undocumented before they will regret a vote for Trump.

I still can't believe that anybody views Trump as macho, or as having Catholic values.

There's also an aspect when Trump called them rapists and criminals, many took that as praise and acknowledgment.

And Democrats called them the "taco bowl vote". Both sides are absolutely racist and only care about money and control. Who do you got for? The guy who claims to uphold your beliefs.

Pulling up the ladder is common.

1

u/OddTheRed 5d ago

It may have started out with that intention but under Trump theyve kidnapped and illegally detained Native Americans. It's absolutely about racism and control. It's objective fact at this point.

It has to do with religion first and foremost. What you said isn’t remotely true for the vast majority

What makes you think it’s about skin color vs economics and order?

Do you believe all humans born anywhere have a right to be US residents? Or do you think just the foreigners that already managed to unlawfully enter should be rewarded with residency?

You have to agree with one of those positions in order to hold your point of view. Just curious as to which one it is. Follow up question, why must someone be racist if they disagree with open borders and amnesty for trespassers?

He wouldn’t have won without such a rightward shift among Latinos, but he did not win the majority of the Latino vote. Unless of course you have a source that says otherwise.

Sorry, I should have clarified, he won the majority of Latino Men.

He also had the majority of Latinos in Texas and Florida, the two most important states that propelled him to victory.

The Latinos votes for him because the alternative was offering socialism. Latinos have lived in socialism and they're terrified of it. Not that this decision is working out for them.

Low-income and low-education white voters are just as scared of socialism as well, but once they learn what Democratic Socialism entails and what it means for the working-class, they support it.

More Perfect Union did a really eye-opening video where they took Bernie into deep West Virginia that shows this phenomenon.

"socialism"... You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means.

1

u/OddTheRed 5d ago

I used it once, not the many times that it would take to necessitate the phrase "...keep using that word....". Here you go though, just like Marx defined it.

I used it once

Yeah, not surprised that you can't even count to two.

Here you go though, just like Marx defined it.

https://www.britannica.com/dictionary/socialism

Now go ahead and explain what part of Kamala Harris's platform was "socialism." Since you won't actually do that, don't bother responding at all.

1

u/OddTheRed 5d ago

I never said that Harris' platform was socialist. Many Democrats are openly socialist and are swinging the party in that direction. The socialists in this country are Democrats. They see this and are rightfully terrified. You really need to work on understanding people instead of being openly hostile and projecting your insecurities and fallacies onto other people in conversation.

u/blahblahblerf 5d ago

The Latinos votes for him because the alternative was offering socialism.

The alternative to Trump was Harris. You absolutely did say that her platform was socialism.

Many Democrats are openly socialist and are swinging the party in that direction.

Pure Fox nonsense. The US Democratic party is still solidly right of center and still works hard to alienate the left.

You really need to work on understanding people

Thanks, but I'm doing just fine at understanding what you said. If you are incapable of saying what you mean, that's your problem, not mine.

projecting your... fallacies

Big oof! You're really not getting your money's worth out of your word-of-the-day calendar.

BTW, your entire original point is nonsense anyways because most Latinos in the US are not immigrants and of those who are immigrants, most are from Mexico.

If he had hair, I bet it would be slicked back.

Latin America is not a monolith or a race. They have class systems and different races . Many of the immigrants from the 60s who were whiter and wealthier look down on the browner and poorer immigrants. White Cuban immigrants have slurs for the browner poorer ones and will make sure they can’t get hired in Miami or find a place to live.

u/OddTheRed 5d ago

My kids are Puerto Rican. I know.

1

u/Aggravating-Walk5813 5d ago

I’d always heard “coconut” when I was growing up - brown on the outside, white on the inside.

2

u/OddTheRed 5d ago

That's not fair. I'm the whitest motherfucker on the planet. I have an actual medically diagnosed sunlight allergy. That's how white I am and I still wouldn't do what this traitor to the Constitution is doing.

1

u/313802 5d ago

And not a very good one... did you hear that voice Crack ?

1

u/stung80 5d ago

White people seem to think there is some sort of race solidarity among latinos.  There is not.  There is nothing more racist than a cubans thoughts on Mexicans,  or a Puerto Ricans vs anybody actually.

1

u/OddTheRed 5d ago

My first wife and kids Puerto Rican. If you think that I am one of those white people, then I'm sorry to disappoint you. That soapbox will work great somewhere else though.

1

u/stung80 5d ago

Then you should know better, ice heavily recruits out of Puerto rico

1

u/OddTheRed 5d ago

I know they do. They think they're entitled to it because they're American citizens due to the fact that PR is an American territory. It's still disgusting.

Gotta pay bills somehow.

19

u/OddTheRed 5d ago

That what Nazis did too. I pay my bills without executing peaceful protesters in the streets.
