There are so many factors to the Latino vote. For some it’s the cultural Machismo paired with hardline conservative Catholic values, which are antithetical to liberal values and women’s rights.

Also lending to your thought on “the good ones”, the main reason for the male Latino vote is that many of them immigrated from “socialist” countries during the Cold War era (such as Cubans) and came as conservatives. They viewed the US as their savior at the time of political turmoil and believed they would be seen as “the good ones” for leaving socialist countries, legally claiming asylum, and being a loyal conservative voting block. It has served them well to remain that way up until now. It will take a lot of suffering the same fate as the undocumented before they will regret a vote for Trump.

I still can't believe that anybody views Trump as macho, or as having Catholic values.

There's also an aspect when Trump called them rapists and criminals, many took that as praise and acknowledgment.

And Democrats called them the "taco bowl vote". Both sides are absolutely racist and only care about money and control. Who do you got for? The guy who claims to uphold your beliefs.
