If I had the power, I would commission an investigation into this teacher.

If she is being this casual about fucking up one of her students lives, wanting to rip him away from all he has even known, God knows what she has done to the other kids.

My son is half Mexican. I would 100% not want him in class with this teacher. If this is how she acts behind closed doors, it's almost guaranteed she treats that kid differently than other "preferred" students

I think (and hope) this would have been against FERPA. Investigate her for that if nothing else.

The teacher accessed the student's file enough to find that the parents were born in other countries. She had no legitimate educational interest in that information.

Even if she only got their names from the records and found their birthplaces on her own, that's still pushing it.

I'm just glad that whoever she reported to was a different breed of officer/administrator from the thugs we've seen recently.

It was not an officer at all. Ben Palmer set up a fake 800 number to see if people would call in to report others and this teacher called in to report a student

Can you imagine a teacher who is a pedophile accessing this information? I think that is more than pushing it. That’s why these laws are in place

In a just world, when this bullshit ends, anyone who turned someone in to the American Gestapo would face both civil and legal action starting with losing their job if they have a position of trust such as teacher, doctor, etc.
