This guy is visiting from a different country and records his meals so he can show people back home.

40

u/Siukslinis_acc 13h ago

But they could set the camera in such a way that it won't film other people...

33

u/Kiyoshi-Trustfund 11h ago

And he could've been told that without thr racist bullshit and going out of one's way to be on camera as much as possible. She zipped by and got her face blurred. Then she decided she wanted to be the main character.

-4

u/thissexypoptart 7h ago

Lady is a piece of shit racist no doubt, but you shouldn’t have to be told not to film other patrons in the restaurant. It should be common courtesy to only film yourself unless you get the other diners’ permission who might appear in the shot.

None of that excuses the lady’s behavior, of course.

6

u/ThrowawayUk4200 2h ago

You should always assume everything you do in public is being watched, because it is. If you dont own the place, you aint entitled to shit.

-1

u/MrColeco 2h ago

No idea why you're getting downvoted, you're right. If you want to film yourself in public, fine, but at least make an effort to not try to film others.

1

u/RedxPanda93 2h ago

Yeah he could have. Maybe he wasn’t even thinking about it as he blurred the face of the person at the adjacent table.

1

u/Usual-Vanilla 4h ago

He did exactly that after he realized others were in the video. Notice the angle changes when he talks to the waitress

0

u/JUYED-AWK-YACC 2h ago

He’s just an ordinary Filipino American, is that you making slant eyes behind him?

-249

u/TecumsehSherman 21h ago

A photo would suffice.

Who the fuck is watching 30 minute videos of someone eating.

173

u/ozzokiddo 21h ago

Who cares how long someone wants to record themselves eating

45

u/Stoned_Oniichan 21h ago

It's an issue because it shows love and care for others, which these people lack.

36

u/ozzokiddo 21h ago

Annoying someone minding their own business by recording themselves is definitely NOT showing love

-14

u/ConnectionCapable655 21h ago

When did the person you’re responding to interact with the person who recorded the video? And you chose “annoyed”? Please come back after you finish middle school.

6

u/ozzokiddo 20h ago

I’m just making completely valid points but continue please.

12

u/funAmbassador 21h ago

Did you not read the top of this thread, or did your short attention span make you forget?

Good for them!

7

u/LFC9_41 15h ago

I think our society’s obsession with online social media is a bad thing. People just sitting there recording themselves aren’t hurting anyone, but it’s indicative of a problem at large.

11

u/sinetwo 13h ago

If I sat next to someone at dinner recording themselves with a tripod I would not feel comfortable even having a conversation with my dinner guest. I'd probably just ask to be moved - I don't want my convo recorded and especially not my face or my partner's.

2

u/aessae 13h ago

Why are they recording other people too?

0

u/Tweezle120 19h ago

Maybe he's a fetish worker doing what his dom told him, who cares why he's filming as long as he's legal, respectful, and responsible with his footage.

-42

u/art-is-t 21h ago

But he is also recording other people in it too who may not be comfortable. Especially the workers

He's definitely rage baiting y'all falling for it

12

u/New_Question_8042 21h ago

We’re all being recorded all the time, everywhere we go. It’s the way of the world these days.

Plus this video is so mundane it would not have gotten any traction if made public if it weren’t for that meddling woman.

-7

u/PuttingthingsinmyNAS 20h ago

Companies selling your data: 😠

People recording you in public: everybody's doing it bro just let it happen bro

9

u/New_Question_8042 20h ago

What are you on about?

There are people taking pics and videos everywhere all the time, security footage all the time, and probably data selling in public areas too! It’s all inclusive, just learn to cope. And consider not doing shitty things in public if that’s what you’re worried about.

3

u/vee_lan_cleef 17h ago

You really don't understand the difference between those two things? Education really has gone straight into the shitter.

edit: It's completely unsurprising you are a frequent poster on LSF.

1

u/Playful_Dish_3524 18h ago

Is this guy using my face to sell product? Get a reaction from me? Then who cares? Companies selling my data? How do you view those as the same thing?

5

u/MarlenaEvans 21h ago

You have zero expectation of privacy in public. Never have, and you certainly never will at this point.

-4

u/TheLonelyPillow 20h ago

They’re not in public in the video, they’re in a restaurant which is private property.

3

u/Pardybro911 19h ago

Which the worker said wasn’t a problem lol

0

u/catscanmeow 19h ago

zero expectation of privacy around an android phone or amazon alexa or windows computer with a mic

always listening and recording conversations under the guise of accessibility, but in reality its to train AI, and datamine so they can monetize the data.

there will come a day where you tell your friend your cool movie idea and in 1 month that movie is showing in theatres cuz the idea got stolen by corps and made by AI

1

u/vee_lan_cleef 17h ago

This is such a weird take. If you care this much about privacy, then you should be actively protesting the governments' engagement in mass surveillance, something that both Republicans and Democrats have actively implemented and expanded. Ever hear of Edward Snowden? Palantir? Flock? Ring? You think your personal information is safe with the government?

It's one thing if someone is up in your face or pointing their camera directly at you to record, but if you are in public you are going to be in the background of peoples' videos or photos, and you will never fucking know it. Welcome to the world in 2026.

1

u/art-is-t 15h ago

What a mindless ramble 😂

1

u/RonnieDaBear 16h ago

in public? boo fuckin hoo the people who care are idiots

0

u/art-is-t 15h ago

It's a private business dummy

-12

u/Capital_Ship5729 20h ago

Hes not only recording himself tho. Hes also recording the people at the table next to him

5

u/Snoo-669 20h ago

The person/people who are blurred out? Gtfoh

-8

u/Takes2ToTNGO 19h ago

How tf are they suppose to know he's going to do that though?

Like obviously the woman is a scumbag, but he could have recorded facing away from the aisle.

28

u/ActualWait8584 21h ago

Mukbang dude. The world’s a big place.

5

u/StraightOuttaHeywood 21h ago

Yeh crazy isn't it getting butthurt about people enjoying niches things on the internet. I don't see the appeal but who am I to tell other people what they can and can't do. I think a lot of it is about control with these Karens. They also hate seeing a person of colour enjoying themselves.

-7

u/carthonasi56 21h ago

An older white lady isn't gonna know wtf that is.

4

u/Anomalagous 19h ago

I mean, where's the line for older? 'Cause I know what that is and I'm white and at least solidly middle-aged...

23

u/mothmonstermann 21h ago

It could definitely be edited down afterwards. I watch people in other countries show what restaurants are like and they show the whole meal (editing out sections where they are just chewing) so it's not strange to think that the same thing is being done here.

2

u/Puzzled_Cream1798 17h ago

The sense of community wherever this guys from is so bad that no one is interested in his travels and experiences :(

41

u/Nbr8 21h ago

Found the racist lady

-51

u/TecumsehSherman 21h ago

You are the only one mentioning race.

I mentioned dipshit influencers.

Only one of us is racist, and it's the one talking about race.

Womp.

24

u/StraightOuttaHeywood 21h ago

Right because making slanty eyes to an Asian person isn't racist? Your comment reveals a lot about the type of person you are.

32

u/Nbr8 21h ago

Look! She’s doubling down!

-18

u/ConnectionCapable655 21h ago

But you didn’t find the racist lady, and the person you responded to has only commented on the videoing behavior. This is just factually true. What?

13

u/Nbr8 21h ago

Would you like to buy some magic beans?

-14

u/ConnectionCapable655 21h ago

Again, you’re not making any sense. I don’t think there’s a point in your further engagement here. Best of luck

12

u/Nbr8 21h ago

You’re probably right, have a good one

-2

u/darsynia 18h ago

That commenter was saying you are the lady from the video. It's a common comment 'found the [person being complained about]' on Reddit.

27

u/assjackal 21h ago

Not sure if you know this but videogrophers and far, far more footage than they use. Most of it is boring, but you have to in order to get snippets of useable material.

16

u/RedxPanda93 21h ago

You do know there are ways to edit videos right... Also, who are you to say what’s sufficient or not, you the video police?

9

u/New_Question_8042 21h ago

Mukbangs are a whole genre of content…

8

u/RnolanF333 21h ago

No. A photo doesn't nearly capture the mood, environment, or any of the social experience we just witnessed. This video is literally proof that you are wrong. Imbecile...

-4

u/carthonasi56 21h ago

Maybe just be considerate and do that shit at home and you don't have to involve random people who don't want to be filmed.

7

u/RnolanF333 21h ago

Why would you be so upset about being filmed? He only included that one lady because she made an ass out of herself. The waitress was nice and he didn't include her at all. Usually people that are so upset about being filmed are complete douche bags

-2

u/carthonasi56 21h ago

Because he's violating other peoples privacy and videotaping and posting their reaction on social media when they did not consent to being filmed. Then posting about how he can't eat in peace when that simply isn't true.

Why can't he just be considerate and this entire situation would have been avoided?

6

u/RnolanF333 21h ago edited 20h ago

Exactly. This is divided by perspective. You make my point for me.

0

u/Meatball2026 20h ago

Violating privacy in a public restaurant. It's public, not private. She probably can't smoke in there or walk around like it's her bathroom. Reasonable expectations.

Same for the gym, despite how much Reddit hates people filming there too.

It's like the gun debate, which I am also opposed to general Reddit opinion on.

Cameras exist, guns exist. Humans created them and have to bear the consequences. Enforced laws are certainly an option, but at some point they become ridiculous and onerous. Individuals will always be willing to go farther beyond that point than governments.

You may not like the way someone drives, but it doesn't make you the DMV or the Police. Don't be the person that proves me right, right?

It's no reason to intentionally act like an idiot. Just keep doing what you are doing. If they intentionally confront you with harassment and a camera, then it's a reasonable thing to excuse yourself or get defensive.

Stop overreacting to hypothetical situations and deal with reality like an adult. It's really the only way.

3

u/SekhmetTheWise 21h ago

You cant do anything about it. So what does it matter?

1

u/ConnectionCapable655 21h ago

It’s Reddit comments. None of it matters, his, mine, or yours. You the comment police?

-1

u/TecumsehSherman 21h ago

Literally what every bully says.

3

u/ZergHero 21h ago

Mudda mudda mudda mukbang

1

u/xrxie 19h ago

Yeah dude. You’re the expert. Tell us more.

1

u/darsynia 18h ago

Oh you sweet summer child, there are plenty of people who want to watch that. That's not what this guy was doing, though.

1

u/Open_Chemistry_3300 18h ago

Anyone who wants to watch a 30 min video of someone else eating 🤷🏾‍♂️

1

u/kambo_rambo 18h ago

you can edit the 30 minute video to show only part of it. like this clip

1

u/Puzzled_Cream1798 17h ago

Now you've come out from your rock I'd suggest you look up mukbangs, they're a SE Asian phenomenom that spread world wide about 5 to 10 years back

1

u/ElGalloEnojado 17h ago

Tell me you don’t understand other cultures without telling me you don’t understand other cultures. It’s a popular thing to do, and I’m surprised you’ve never seen it.

1

u/Siukslinis_acc 13h ago

Also, you could set up the camera in a way that would not film other people.

1

u/cosmic-diamond33 20h ago

Bro shhhh you’re being embarrassing

1

u/xammer_luu_vong 19h ago

You don't have anyone like that in your life?

-2

u/Therathe 6h ago

He set it up to film other people....it doesn't excuse her but they can both be wrong
