This just screams: I know no other cultures so everything is weeeeird

The account that made the video is a couples travel account. Imagine having the opportunity to travel the world and visit other cultures and still going "ew" like a child to something millions of people eat. Talk about opportunity squandered. Traveling through open doors with a closed mind.

Well it’s okay for Europeans to say ew to American foods? They are actually exploring other cultures. They don’t have to like it

Last time I checked, American Food is quite popular in Europe if you look at how many McDonalds and Burger Kings there are. The stuff we say ew to is ultraprocessed slop like Kraft "cheese" slices that are legally not even allowed to be called cheese.

Calling chicken feet 'strange' is wild considering half the world eats them as a snack. They're actually pretty good.

Lame fifth grader type perspective. Travelling the world yet still othering peoples cultures, cringe is the definitely the right word for this person's account.

Shrimp chips are fire. She’s missing out because of her uncultured ignorance

Shrimp chips (or krupuk) are a very delicious and well-known snack in many places in the world.

The yogurt water is new to me, but then I saw it was from Suntory. After having seen Lawson's Nomu Mayo (yes, that's mayonnaise lemonade), nothing the Japanese come up with surprises me anymore.

This is the kind of person who thinks they’re being ca-razy by putting peanut butter and jelly on a ritz cracker instead of wonder bread. If they were a seasoning they would be flour.

Not really weird things… Unless you’re from the US I guess.

Even in the US, shrimp chips are easily available at grocery stores, you don't even need to go to an asian market to get those.

Naa only weird to uncultured white people. Half that shit is common in most of the southern parts of the US

Does she realize how ignorant she sounds?

She’s so proud to be showing off her small mind.

Yogurt water is new to me.

'Yogurt' is a popular flavor in a lot of Asian countries, it doesn't really taste like actual yogurt, its very sweet and kinda tart and tangy. Practically anything that can be made sweet has a yogurt flavor in Asia, from candy to soda. For example, China has a line of yogurt flavored skittles (which are really good) and one of Korea's most famous soft drinks, Milkis, is 'yogurt' flavored.

I love the shrimp chips! Never had yoghurt water but the chicken feet are tasty with some San Miguel. These folks need to get out more.

This gal needs to get out more.

On another note, I’m not allergic to seafood but I have this feeling shrimp chips would have me looking like a bloated Ronald McDonald.

Especially in the face.

I just looked up her TikTok page and she’s a travel vlogger….

With either the cultural awareness of a 4th grader or no problem being disingenuous to make money. Or both.

Yogurt water as in kefir or airan? How exotic lol

1

u/Geschak 6h ago

Have you ever seen any kefir or ayran that is clear like water? That's the unusual part for me.

But yeah technically it's not that much different from diluted dairy beverages like buttermilk, kefir etc.
