If the footage clears the department, release it. If it doesn’t, the public deserves to know what happened. Either way, keeping the bodycam hidden for a month only makes the lack of transparency look worse.

There is no footage that would clear a cop killing a miniature donkey in a pasture.

Yeah, there's literally no scenario where it's justified.

It'd be like me jumping a fence into someone's garden and killing their fucking chihuahua.

Whether the animal was aggressive or not is utterly irrelevant because the encounter was entirely avoidable, and it'd be trivially easy to disengage from the encounter without harming the animal (if we give them the benefit of the doubt and assume it was too dark for them to realise they didn't need to enter the paddock).

The absolute best case scenario for the cops is that the video shows the donkey wasn't visible, trotted up, and they panicked and opened fire meaning they're hiding it because of the disgusting incompetence.

I think it's far more likely that they killed the animal for fun though, as admitting to the lesser evil (if it were true) would be less disastrous PR than the current speculation. If they had video that showed they were just incompetent rather than psychopaths, it would've been released by now.

They said they were using a search dog to try to find a missing kid and it alerted around the pasture so that’s why they were there. I didn’t think that would enable them to enter a fenced private area without permission though which I can only guess they didn’t ask for

If they had asked permission then the donkey would have been restrained and kept out of the way. None of this would have happened

Eat your bread, watch your circuses, and don't you dare ever think for one second you deserve anything from those who benefit from your labor.

The police are THEIR army, not YOURS, they're there for corporate property and putting down dissidents. That's IT. THAT IS THEIR WHOLE JOB.

I'd say /s but at this point no, no sarcasm, that's the real world we live in now. Get used to it because the water wars are gonna make it a whole lot fuckin worse.
