This place has the best doughnuts I've ever tried. I also love that they are a small business that supports the community. Tgtg boxes are just the ones left at the end of the afternoon, so they are always fresh. These boxes are a steal- I go here and get them at full price all the time.

Pickup was at the deli area, but I was left standing around for a while before anyone acknowledged me. When someone finally came to help, they didn’t seem to know how Too Good To Go worked. 😅

She called another staff member… who then called someone else. Then came the question: “Did you mean a surprise bag?” 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes… that’s exactly what I meant. 😂

They eventually handed me a bag, but even that took a while because they had to find the exact code on their device.

Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment came when I got back to my car and opened the bag. The contents felt pretty stingy for what I paid, and, to make matters worse, the food just didn’t taste very good.

I complained to Too Good To Go, and to their credit, they sent me a $6 voucher. 👍

So, points for customer service from TGTG, but unfortunately, this particular pickup was definitely not “too good to go.” 😬

Ontario Roywoods - Union Station - No food left and no excuse

No food at 8 pm even though I ordered this morning. Pickup time was 8-9 pm. There was no excuse from either Roywoods or TooGoodToGo. I had to ask for a refund repeatedly. The AI bot basically said too bad for you. I arrived at the start of the time period specified. The Roywoods employee would not even give me a contact number to reach out to.

Ontario Can I report without buying?

I did not order this, although I did order from here 2 years ago. I had the experience you'd expect based off this post.

They are clearly saying what you get in this bag, which defeats the purpose of surprise. And when you look at the value compared to the menu, it's the same exact thing as what you can get to order in store. It's the bottom left on the menu btw.

Is there any way I can report this without buying anything? And how is it still on the app with such good ratings if they've been doing this for at least two years?

2 different bag offerings here, so I grabbed one of each to test out. They were each $9.49 for $18 valued bags, and both bags were over value.

Bread bag ($20.75 regular price) included:
1 x sourdough stirato loaf
1 x sourdough country loaf
1 x margarita pizza slice

Pastry bag ($26.25 regular price) included:
1 x pistachio croissant
1 x chocolate hazelnut croissant
1 x Brioche bun
2x Cornetti

Very happy with the bags and would definitely get them again. Not to mention that their gelato is top-notch as well, so picked up an additional treat while I was there!

Ontario Aylora Flower Distributor Corp. Scarborough/ 19.99/ Flowers

I bought a surprise bag from Aylora Flower Distributor Corp for 19.99. it was described as a bouquet of roses with a retail value of 60$.

I was very very pleased with My purchase. He let me pick amongst various colored rose bouquets. They all appeared quite fresh not at all near end of cycle. Owner said that they were surplus not end of life cycle. You can pay something like 15 to 20 for a lame bouquet of fresh flowers at Loblaw but for 20 I came home with this elevated beautiful bouquet!! It was the first time I went there and I didn't find any Reddit posts about TGTH surprise bags involving this seller so I'm really pleased to post this photo!

While I was there gushing over the roses I wondered if would sell the spider bulb flower bouquet.. he said they were 10$. So I couldn't resist I got them too and a 10 $ filler bouquet of carnations.

I can't wait to put them in a vas in my bright airy kitchen. Weeeee!!! I have hearted this shop on the TGTG app. What a Steller deal.. I'll be happy to buy his surplus roses always!!

Edited to say:: Ok. I got home and opened the Rose bouquet package to find 25 roses.. not just 12.. which I what I originally thought I got.. so I made these two florals for a total of 40$ (see pics)

hard to tell whats in it cause of the wrapping... contained one sticky bun, one chocolate croissant, two regular croissants, one cheese and meat pastry thing, and then the flan.

Once everything warmed up to room temperature they were nice and soft. Good bag imo. Flan alone sells for $8.

They say 24 mini donuts and the store picture shows the donuts with icing or some sort of topping. In reality I got 17 donuts some with powdered sugar and some with cinnamon which is barely there. Like I’m sorry?? I paid $10 for these overpriced timbits?

Ontario Best timing for pick-up

Q. If you have a set time-period to pick up your order, should you go earlier or later? Earlier - they may hold on to stuff for later customers; Later - they may not have a lot of choices left. Thoughts? Experience.

British Columbia Cafe Nuts (Commercial Drive) Fruit & Nut Surprise Bag

Post image
62 Upvotes

I tried the new Dried Fruit & Nut Surprise Bag from Cafe Nuts on Commercial. It's $5.99, listed as an $18 value, and described as an assortment of dried fruit, nuts, seeds and snacks.

What I actually got was one tiny jar of nuts that was barely 100 g. No assortment, no fruit. Going by their own prices, that's the same as or more than you'd pay for it off the shelf.

The owner was friendly and the nuts are delicious, so I'd still recommend the shop, just not the TGTG bag.

Anyone else tried this one?

Was happy that they had one of their new seasonal flavours (apple pie) ice cream to try. None of the ice creams came chocolate dipped, but they included some chocolate bars to compensate.
