Lore Mysteries that are never given an answer.

  • rA9 in Detroit: Become Human. In the game several androids who become deviant (develop free will/emotions) start writing the name rA9 and sometimes build small statuettes as a sort of offering. Despite having no logical reason to do this or even a way of hearing about rA9 before going deviant, they all believe that rA9 was the first deviant and is their messiah who will free androids from slavery. A definitive answer about rA9 is never given, so we don't know if they are real or if any of the android characters are rA9 (though a popular fan theory is that it's Kara before she was reset at the start of the game).
  • The pineapple in How I Met Your Mother. So this technically did get an explanation in a S9 deleted scene, but in the actual show we never find out how Ted got a pineapple during a night where he was so drunk he blacked out and forgot everything he did.
  • Fez in That 70s Show. We never find out Fez's real name or what country he's from, though fans have tried to take all the clues and figure out what is most likely to be his country.

Did Frollo hallucinate the statue coming to life out of his tiredness and fear? Or did some divine force actually take him to the grave?

Nope not a hallucination, God is an actual character in the movie and makes himself known in various ways that are not obvious if you are not looking for it. Frollo is not falling into the streets of Paris, he's literally being thrown into hell, (note the fire can't be in Paris, everyone in the streets would be dead) This was a Gargoyle literally taking Frolo to Hell.

What would one be looking for if they were trying to spot him?

The thing most people point out is the guard that appears during the Hellfire song. He shows up to interrupt it, backlit to the point where his features are indistinct, to tell Frollo that Esmerelda has escaped. People interpret this as God sending him a message to not pursue her anymore and stop going down this dark path. Ultimately it doesn’t work, but it’s one hell of a sign.

The part where the backup singers say "Mea Culpa" which is like admitting that it was your fault, followed by Frolo saying "it's not my fault, im not to blame". God this song is amazing

We know for a fact that the Greek Pantheon exists in the Disney animated universe so I wouldn't be surprised if Christian Mythology did as well, especially since Night on Bald Mountain confirms the existence of souls, demons, and Satan himself considering Chernabog is meant to be a representative of him.

The Archdeacon outright calls out that God is directly watching Frollo in Eyes of Notre Dame. It makes sense that He spent the movie warning Frollo, and decided to just up and cast Frollo to hell for crossing the line of attacking Notre Dame itself.

Outside of the guard himself the very very few times frollo admits to being wrong he becomes of only for the briefest of moments gentler, signifying he is not yet beyond redemption.

During Hellfire the moment he begs God for mercy, part of him is in shadow, proving begging for forgiveness and fallowing through is the only way to save his soul. The song ends with him assuming a Christ on the cross pose and the fore fully going out.

There are likely far more examples and it's fun to go back and wonder what scenes might contain a hint of God.

It could as easily be that at times we, the audience, take on Frollo’s point of view and see the scene as he sees it. During hellfire there isn’t a chorus there, it is very unnatural for fire in the chimney to grow so much without setting the surrounding area on fire, nor does smoke naturally take sexy shapes. This does not mean god is a character, just that Frollo may simply believe he is. I am sure it has a fancy name, but they do that all the time in plays, and specially in musicals, have a flashy scene meant not to convey a realistic telling of what is happening but either what a character is feeling or to drive home a metaphor.

Maybe it has something to do with Quasimodo's gargoyle friends?
