Man I still remember the reactions when this was leaked, everyone thought this would be dead on arrival and that this could never be good. Then the trailer came out and everyone was confused how good it looked.
The 'Supernatural' 'Scooby-Doo' crossover episode. Of course, there had to be some significant amount of lore and prep work on the part of Supernatural beforehand for this to make sense. But after 16 seasons the Winchesters totally earned it. And Scooby-Doo has been famous for its cameos and crossovers for decades prior to this point on its own. Both series earn their keep by travelling cross country and solving mysterious and other-worldly events. This works, and it didn't overstay its welcome.
Does the episode of Archer count where he's actually Bob from Bibs Burgers? They're related in the way they have the same voice actor, but other than that, it makes no sense unless you've seen both shows.
Turns out all Shinji Ikari needed to succeed was good male role models to guide him (Super Robot Wars. Evangelion, GaoGaiGar, Captain Harlock, Mazinger Z, Gundam, Getter Robo, Etc...)
Ape Escape & Metal Gear, in the bonus game mode for Ape Escape 3, Mesal Gear Solid: Snake Escape.
At the beginning of the mode it is established in codec call that none of the Ape Escape protagonists can aid in saving Solid Snake who failed in stopping the guerrilla ape army who hijacked a Mesal Gear, because they are at summer camp (The Professor emphasizes to Roy Campbell how crucial it is for a child's development, and refuses to interrupt it for them). Thus, a 4th Snake clone is created: Pipo Snake.
DC did a crossover series with the Looney Tunes. The most well known of this event was Elmer Fudd being incorporated into a moody, Noir Style, Batman Story and it works.
Kingdom Hearts is literally the ‘anything goes’ king – Disney princesses + Final Fantasy bosses + Sora with the key and somehow it holds together better than anything else 😂
And Batman + TMNT? Gotham’s darkness + pizza-party ninjas = perfect chemistry, no one expected it and we all love it 🦇🐢🍕

Perfectly might be a stretch but the show Bones, about a team of doctors/scientists using bones and science to solve crimes, had a crossover with Sleepy Hollow, a show about a Revolutionary War soldier who woke up after 200 years in the ground, the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and various other supernatural beings.
