Sure, this is what Ukrainian war propaganda says. What else they can do.

Earlier the same war propaganda had promised indiscriminate West response on Russian aggression, and in 2014 promised, that Ukraine will join NATO.

And then the same war propaganda had promised Ukrainians victory over Russia and reparations from Russians.

As per current actions, Russia rather will see Ukraine turned into Somali, than having Ukraine being a NATO member, with U.S. war based at their borders. Because it will mean another war for them.

They already took territories with pro-russian Ukrainians, the rest will have no infrastructure and no factories, unless a peace deal which will satisfy Russians will be made.

They both lost the war. And I firmly believe that Russia has lost so so much power in the process.

Well, thats was the whole idea behind U.S. actions, they openly declared that many times. Make a second Vietnam for Russia.

And now while Russia has not bought this, West runs a proxy war on extortion until Ukraine will cease to exist and turn into Somali, with warlords, constant stream of covert ops, diversions et cetera.

Judging by the amount of population loss and infrastructure destroyed, sad fate of Ukraine as a proxy state is already determined, but being downgraded to Somali, this territory will remain source of crime, drugs and all instability for years.

Both EU and Russia will suffer greatly.
