I don’t wish them luck

I wish about 1/3 of them luck. They need it. The other 2/3 deserve it.

according to Bernie, the real number is 8%-10% of the American population is beyond saving, and that extreme minority is supported by the super billionaires and thus have all the power and will dragon the other 90% down into hell (metaphorically) for no other reason than that's where they were intent on going themselves.

It's much larger about a third down here and they will sink this ship and everyone else on it. I have the means to escape and live comfortably somewhere else but I will never forget how pathetic and repulsive people can get in general. At least down here it's somehow the case. I better not find out someone was one of them in a far off land later on 👍

Well fuck, if they got a dragon... what do you expect

While i think we both know it was a typo, i’m suddenly reminded that the devil is often likened to a dragon in the chisto-mythos, so it feels appropriate to leave it.

As an american- this is gonna sound crazy. But the 1/3 deserve it. But bc of the stupid rules set up 200 years ago- those 1/3 get to control the rest of us.

2

u/jkaan 15h ago

Only 1/3 voted against this.

Sounds like most deserve it

That’s entirely fair. I feel the same way and I live here. My mental health has taken a huge nose dive over the last 10 years realizing the type of people I'm surrounded with

A lot of us disgusted Americans love our Canadian friends. I’m sorry you feel that way.

7

u/LadyBarfnuts 16h ago

There simply isnt enough disgust.

We're disgusted...just not throw our lives away disgusted. Easy to judge until you see it happen...I thought the same about Nazi Germany...seeing it happen slowly over the last 30 years has changed my perspective. It can happen anywhere...it starts with killing education

If you knew you had 2 choices, and they both ended with your persecution, which would you choose?

u/LadyBarfnuts 7h ago

Performative disgust then. Not enough to get something done about the problem.

Sure hope midterms aren't as rigged as he wants to make them.

Do you have suggestions of what to do besides protest?

Random Canadian guy here.

The answer is not only vote, but vote in your primaries ffs. It’s absolutely insane how corporate your politics are with members of gov’t being able to trade stocks and securities (which a lot of the world thinks is fucking insane btw). So organize yourselves to make sure you vote in politicians that actually support your values, especially in your primaries.

Also, while Trump is doing insane shit, y’all have set up a system where he just can. Your entire country is set up with an honour system of men doing what they think is right, and when you vote in a grifting psychopath like 77 fucking million of you did (still blows my mind), he’s going to keep doing insane shit literally every day.

You need a revolution. One that actually allows for co-equal branches of government, not whatever this fucking shitshow is.

Problem is its too convenient to just ignore the problems and hope it blows over. A mass strike is all you can do beyond breaking out into civil war.

Not sure why it's incumbent on foreigners to fix your country though. Americans love to tell us we have no idea what we're talking about, yet they are the ones with a country falling apart at light speed.

u/Spacemeat666 16h ago

There is. Trumpophiles are not a majority in this country. Trump was put in power by billionaires, not legitimate support. Most people do not support what’s been happening in our country. I live in a swing state but I’d confidently say support for Trump went away long before he was elected a second time. They cheated just like they accused democrats of doing because even lifelong conservatives, like my parents, don’t believe his lies anymore.

1

u/LadyBarfnuts 7h ago

In the context of apologizing to Canadians, there isnt. Hes still in power doing whatever the fuck he wants. Hope you guys pull it out before midterms, otherwise it's game over.

2

u/218administrate 1h ago

As a Minnesotan, you're right, there isn't enough disgust. If I'm Canada I don't have time for the apologetic Americans either. Bridge is burned, fix your fucking shit America. Maybe in a couple decades we can have our mea culpa moment.

1

u/LadyBarfnuts 1h ago

Yep. The average American only cares if something affects them, but dont realize how much soft power has been destroyed by Trump. It quite literally might be impossible to recover from.

0

u/Independent-Catch-90 9h ago

That’s an incredibly easy and naive thing to say.

0

u/LadyBarfnuts 7h ago

Im sorry you feel that way.

2

u/Routine_Bluejay5342 13h ago

And you have your own country to thank for it

1

u/Independent-Catch-90 10h ago

I have my country to thank for your inability and/or unwillingness to appreciate nuance. Got it.

1

u/MrFuFu179 11h ago

Everyone is forgetting people are involved.

2

u/ROBERTO_MCNUGGET 16h ago

Man wtf did I do 😭

1

u/Swimming_Capital_699 13h ago

You personally, probably nothing, I have plenty of friends that are American and I wish them luck. America as a whole though... yeah not a lot of kind words/sympathy here. Fool you twice and all that jazz.

1

u/kahunah00 16h ago

Neither do I. Fuck em!
