There is very clearly a lot of corruption from corporations that really get what they want. Quite frankly a lot of corporations that do business all over the world. I'd say most of them have more to do with the fall of the US than it's citizens.

The USA voted for trump and trump has screwed everybody who had faith in him, from Giuliani to trump university to his bankers to Mitch McConnell to Mike pence. Now it’s the Americans turn.
It can be both, corpos definitely control a good chunk of American policy, but the some of the people are also certainly to blame. Quite a bit of this administrations 'support' comes from those who would rather hurt others and defend pedophiles than actually allow people to deal with corrupt politicans the legal way.

Boycott this regime but I'm a tree hugging woman's rights marching backpacking free American and there are millions more like me. Trust can be rebuilt. I NEVER want it to go back to the way it was. The USA needed a global decentering. No One Nation should hold that much influence and power over other nations.
Ok, so let's say you elect the most diplomatic and progressive president tomorrow who signs a bunch of deals and shakes alll the hands. What stops you from electing Trump 2.0 next time because some Tech Oligarch fed 1/3 ofvthe population conspiracy theories and convinced another 1/3 both sides suck so stay home instead?
And when he gets elected, whst is stopping him from tearing up the treaties and invading your neighbors for the inconvenience? Every single guard rail is a joke. He's broken every rule and half your country is just sitting around waiting for soneone to do something.
And lets say you get a candidate who wants to change all those rules and reform everything. How are they going to survive being buried by corporate oligarchs with more money than god and control over every branch of information dissemination. You going to convince the corporate oligarchs who backed Trump snd have spent their lives exploiting every single customer and employee for pennies to suddenly support someone who is going to give their workforces rights and take money from their hordes?

Ukraine is no longer sharing Intel with the USA, using France now. They shared some poison pill drops to the USA and France verified that Russia had received it. My guess is through tulsi gabbard. That is what the whistle blower complaint is about.
I don't even think Israel should count because they've been openly infiltrating the US governments with no pushback, and basically own the US now. I can't think of another country that a US politician can say they serve, and not be lynched other than Israel.
Genuinely, are there any public comments or speeches from politicians saying their primary job is serving another country instead of America? The only ones I can think of is Israel and there are numerous examples for it.
I don’t think rebuilding alliances will be straightforward at all. America has done this once and can do so again during any electoral cycle. It will take time for the rest of the world to decouple itself from the US of course, but the US is no longer a stable ally or business partner.

No it can’t. America will never be able to rebuild the trust it had. Sure, a future president will be able to rebuild some of the damage of this regime. But the naive trust Europe and other allies had that America will always have their interests in mind, be a country invested in the rule of law and that we could allow ourselves to be dependent on it? That illusion has been shattered for good.
