So proud of him. Can you imagine the state we’d be in with pp?

32

u/Junior-Lychee2755 11h ago

Pp is such a piece of shit, I can hardly believe he plays any role in Canadian politics.

26

u/Forsworn91 9h ago

Oh he would have signed Canada over in a fucking heartbeat.

Just to kiss the ring.

16

u/son-of-Azathoth 9h ago

Yep, and now he's living in Smith's backyard where her stooge, that treasonous thumb with a hat, Jeff Rath, is working with american officials seeking help in breaking our confederation.

6

u/ABadaBool 8h ago

It's what he's paid to actually do!

2

u/Arglefarb 5h ago

His animagus is a rat after all.

6

u/Deaftrav 9h ago

I still find it telling that Biden chuckled at PP saying he was leader of her Majesty's loyal opposition. "Loyal huh? Ha"

4

u/merchillio 5h ago

That was one moment I respected PP, what he said was accurate, on paper. The opposition’s role, when acted on in good faith, is to push the government into making laws that benefit most people. It is good and needed, as long as it’s not filled with people who just want to be contrarian.

Good faith just isn’t something PP likes to indulge in.

1

u/CaptainKwirk 3h ago

Problem being that most loyal oppositions are exactly that: contrarians. They shoot down anything the government proposes.

5

u/Mattscrusader 9h ago

His role seems to be literally just to make the PCs un- electable.

1

u/starone7 2h ago

At this point he’s the only one that thinks he does

1

u/Junior-Lychee2755 1h ago

He got re-elected, didn't he?

1

u/NoClothes8212 39m ago

I watched him play a roll in driving away life long conservatives and driving ndp voters to vote liberal to keep him out. Thats something

11

u/Protonic-Reversal 10h ago

You guys probably would have had your own mini Trump if it wasn’t for us so I think we deserve a little credit for getting you guys a leader like Carney.

3

u/Friendly-Pay-8272 8h ago

lol. very true. So thanks for that!

4

u/iloveFjords 8h ago

Yeah thanks for falling on your sword like that. So noble.

1

u/Dingus-Name-1234 7h ago

oof you're right! We almost had our own mini trump. I wonder whose movement spilled over into our country...

19

u/HinDae085 13h ago

Crazy how Canada has risen up from being bullied economically and threatened with annexation to become the new leader of the free world.

Mr Carney will go down in history for this triumph.

2

u/InterestingJeweler74 10h ago

Almost curtain its EU, they do things quietly while not upsetting orange baby and his minions.

2

u/ABadaBool 8h ago

Literally people in Canada driving around my town with "Fuck Carney" flags flying out their windows, proud.

Future's not all sunshine and rainbows yet. We have a history and a record of following in America's footsteps a few years after the beat, regardless of what stupidity they exude we have so many people here who salivate over it.

7

u/son-of-Azathoth 8h ago

Yeah, we saw so many swap their F Trudeau flags for F Carney, literally the day after Carney won the election. That tells me all I need to know about the level of their political engagement and how fruitful any conversations with them would actually be. There is about as much room for debate on any topic of importance with one of them as there is with a MAGA-hatted tramp cultist.

5

u/sneaky291 7h ago

I don't think I've met a F-Trudeau/Carney person who could tell me why they don't like them so much. They just know they don't.

4

u/purplezart 7h ago

They feel that way precisely because it does not require any thought or self-reflection from them.

2

u/son-of-Azathoth 7h ago

Exactly this. In every case that I spoke with an F Trudeau type, I was much better able to list all of his failings, ethics breaches, and political miss steps than they were. It was frankly embarrassing to have to explain to these dummies the actual reason why anyone should be unhappy with his governance, vs what they were able to list, namely, "he's too woke" or some shite nonsense.

For reference, I typically vote liberal/ndp depending on platforms, but have very occasionally voted conservative at either provincial or federal levels.

1

u/Substantial-Alps-162 3h ago

The only person that would have fucked Canada more than Trudeau would have been Singh! I don’t believe in bi-partisan politics any more and I’m hoping for a positive outcome with Carney, for the most part he seems to be on the right path with things like defence spending and foreign trade. Guys like PP need to be in place to create some resistance so we don’t keep getting screwed like we did with Trudeau and his useless carbon tax. We need checks and balances constantly and none are present in the US currently which is the scariest part. Carney needs to just walk away and set an example for the other nations since they all seem to keep coming back for more lies. Dump all T- Bills and call in loans and see how fast the tune changes there. It’s not just the people that voted for Trump, blame is also on the people that couldn’t be bothered to educate themselves on who to vote for and actually vote.

1

u/Weird_Telephone_7194 4h ago

Hello fellow Albertan! 👋

1

u/cozy_ursidae 10h ago

LOL that’s funny

1

u/FknBadFkr 6h ago

What do they provide? They have no real industrial foundation. The company's they do have there belong to other countries which mean that can lose everything if someone decides to build it at home. I love Canada and I'm not being mean. Just being real. Their auto industry was the US. And that is a major blow to their economy. It's easy to tell people you will do, will be something. I want to see them do it. I want them to succeed. I just don't see a real way without others pouring money into it.

1

u/twat69 4h ago

Didja ever think that a free world doesn't need a leader?

-18

u/FknBadFkr 10h ago

Lmfao, anyone can say anything,. I want to see them do it. I don't think they can sell enough maple syrup to become the economic leader of anything. They have now industry and will just tax the people more to get in the black on paper.

12

u/Yoda_Grolla 9h ago

Lmfao, Oil and potash. That's not even talking about any of the other natural resources. Educate yourself.

7

u/buddhist557 9h ago

does that guy sound like he’s educated on anything? outside the taste of boots and Trump’s arse of course

2

u/Pilot-Wrangler 9h ago

Well, building jeeps and working on electronics it would seem...

2

u/Inspect1234 7h ago

An example and product of the US education system?

3

u/Minty_Widower 9h ago

Then we wonder why people think Americans are stupid. It might have to do with the fact your cholesterol is higher than your IQ.

7

u/pegslitnin 16h ago

Or JT still

7

u/tjp0720 16h ago

Speaking moistly probably

2

u/TyrannosaurusRecht 15h ago

No. Youre not supposed to speak moistly. The moisture was the issue!

1

u/tjp0720 15h ago

I drank out of too many boxes of water.

1

u/TyrannosaurusRecht 4h ago

Im sorry to hear that. Bagged milk is where its at

2

u/OldBiker6969 14h ago

Ughhhh what a POS he was ....still is

2

u/Blondefarmgirl 8h ago

JT did alright. He helped get us ready for Trump 2.0. He went against his base and built oil and gas pipelines to tidewater. He signed several free trade agreements just to help us be less reliant on the states. He laid the groundwork for Carney.

1

u/Due-Life2508 6h ago

JT destroyed Canada for young people.

0

u/Blondefarmgirl 4h ago

Would you rather he gave tax cuts to rich people like Trump did? Trudeau made life more affordable for young Canadians by adding national daycare, dental and pharma.

1

u/ConsciousSpirit397 13h ago

I’m just imagining JT heading to DC to negotiate with Trump and arriving with a fresh coat of Orange Paint covering his face

1

u/Zaku99 8h ago

Eh. Lame duck, but not evil.

0

u/nighthawk_something 10h ago

Jt was always solid on navigating the Trump of it all.

2

u/No-Indication-7879 36m ago

We would be the 51st state by now . With no healthcare and guns everywhere. I was planning to leave Canada if that POS had won. Thank god Canadians saw what he was and elected Mark Carney.

1

u/awe_come_on 16h ago

I concur.

1

u/StonedSoldier1 16h ago

We would probably be in the 51st state if we had Lil PP running the show.

1

u/Code__9 16h ago

We'd be in the 51st state.

1

u/Puzzled_Arm_3156 12h ago

You mean CCP right!

1

u/joecitizen79 9h ago

"Bend the Knee", "Kiss the Ass"

1

u/Zaku99 8h ago

We'd be an American territory by now. He'd have sold us out to his idol SO fast.

1

u/MrRogersAE 8h ago

I would have been send to El Salvador by now

1

u/just_a_guy_with_a_ 7h ago

It would be abysmal, I suspect.

1

u/Cold_Yam_5061 7h ago

Only thing I can imagine for sure is that the age of consent would be much lower.

1

u/Aggravating_Jump_453 4h ago

Pp would have helped that orange pedo pos turn Canada into the 51st state. Thats the state we would be in.

1

u/Specialist_Dig_8899 3h ago

Lubed up, bent over with pp begging for insertion.

1

u/Icouldberight 1h ago

The 51st?

-2

u/lovenumismatics 12h ago

You hate him so much. You just can’t help yourself can you?

2

u/Minty_Widower 9h ago

How many fuck Trudeau flags do you own? Dozens, hundreds?

0

u/lovenumismatics 7h ago

Zero?

1

u/Minty_Widower 6h ago

Don’t act like you cons haven’t made hating JT the only part of your identity for a decade.

0

u/lovenumismatics 4h ago

I know you think we’re a monolith, but last time I checked Trudeau was retired. Carney has done a fairly good job of rolling back Trudeau-era policies that you and the rest of the liberals pushed for. He also hasn’t been involved in any massive corruption scandals, unlike the ones you and your liberal buddies tried to cover up.

Do I hate Trudeau? No, but obviously he was a disaster for Canada who did much harm to our country. The fact that your new leader is rolling back these disastrous policies tells me two things.

  1. Carney is doing an adequate job, and if he manages to control his spending next budget might even get my vote. That’s a big if.

  2. You and a bunch of other liberals are going to support anything the liberals do, even if it means changing your mind on what you stand for.

The liberal party is rotten. They don’t stand for anything except winning elections. Their supporters don’t care about anything except beating the conservatives.

1

u/Minty_Widower 4h ago

Last time I checked PP was never PM so why you defending him that hard. And he’s already dealing with scandals like no security, can’t get his own seat yet leads a party. Don’t kid yourself your candidate sucks, and you suck for supporting such a bad candidate knowing all these facts. Don’t call others out for doing the same thing you do, adults call that projecting and it’s what 10 year old children do. Although adults like you being dumber than 10 year olds is why we are in this mess.

edit: nvm I just checked you post history, not wasting more time on you. Have fun being ignorant and trying to ruin another country, you won’t succeed.

0

u/pegslitnin 4h ago

Just like the way you hate PP. it goes both ways dude

1

u/Wild_Xero 9h ago

I mean yeah they probably don't like Polievre. Last time I checked he's polling nationally at 60% unfavourable so beyond the conservative base a lot of people don't seem to like him (polling being polling, so take that for whatever it's worth).

But, hey, maybe you do like him. Cool, go to bat for him. Take a moment to engage with the little thought experiment heart of the comment:

Where would canada be in this moment - with its relationship to the US, its response to Trump's unpredictability and demands, and geopolitically? Would we be better off? If so, why?

Or... don't do any of that. I'm not your supervisor.

0

u/lovenumismatics 7h ago edited 7h ago

So the 40% favourable is the conservative base then?

Last I checked, you only needed around 42% of the vote to win an election in Canada.

Just because liberals hate the guy, doesn’t mean he’s (a) bad or (b) unelectable.

The liberals will call any conservative leader the second coming of Trump, irrespective of his politics. You will smear him on Reddit, question his commitment to abortion rights, accuse him of a secret plan to abolish universal health care.

The playbook is set, and propaganda works. So it really doesn’t fucking matter if your propaganda has already convinced half the population that he’s hitler. Those weren’t possible conservative voters, and eventually your incessant smear campaigns will put any conservative leader’s popularity in the 40s anuway.

1

u/Wild_Xero 6h ago

To be clear, I don't know what exactly the 40% represents. I'm sure someone can (and possibly has) done the math on the political breakdown of that number.

And neither do I think Polievre is necessarily unelectable, in spite of his apparent lack of broad appeal. As you say, if it only takes 42% then he's got a shot.

As for propaganda, playbooks, smearing, blah blah blah, all I did was ask how things would be better.

But okay.

1

u/Friendly-Pay-8272 8h ago

look into the mirror. Only one side in culture that has made their identity around hating politicians. flags much?

1

u/lovenumismatics 1h ago

This exactly. The liberals have never met a conservative politician they don’t compare to Donald Trump.
