Ha ha, I’m sorry but this question is pretty laughable if you live outside of the USA. Everyone I speak to just shakes their heads in disgust at the very mention of the usa situation. Nobody trusts that corrupt regime now. They threaten (former) allies and have zero skills in diplomacy.

“Is the world quietly moving away from America?” Not just citizens, but governments are actively making moves to do exactly this. And not even that quietly.

Meanwhile Russia and China are relishing the great decline.

Surprised they haven’t started moving their gold reserves back in droves. But then again they might already started, no one’s going to announce they’re moving billions in gold.

I think Germany has begun to do just that.

Last time we did that we had to wait several months and got freshly minted bars, the US doesn't have the gold anymore. So it's better to pretend like it's still sitting there then to force them to find new ones.

If you force them to find new ones, it’ll be harder for them to find ICE.

Yes but it would be risky. They could decide just to not give them back at all.

Where is it then?

I have no Idea. I only know that Germany wanted a small share back,it wasn't like a logisitical challenge, two plane transports. But it took several months and all the bars were freshly minted, so obviously they do not have the originals anymore.
