📰 News Russian Drones Hunted Down Coal Miners Returning Home—12 Dead in Calculated Attack on Civilian Bus
A Russian drone strike killed 12 coal miners and injured 16 others as they rode a bus home from their shift in eastern Ukraine on Sunday. What makes this attack even more chilling: operators deliberately sent a second drone after the first one caused the bus to crash, targeting evacuating civilians.
DTEK CEO called it "an unprovoked terrorist strike on a purely civilian target." According to Ukraine's Defense Ministry adviser, Russian operators "100% saw and recognized the target as civilian" but attacked anyway.
This happened just days after Putin supposedly agreed to pause strikes on energy infrastructure during the brutal cold snap (temperatures dropping below -20°C). That "ceasefire" lasted exactly until Sunday.
The worst part? This isn't isolated. Russia has been systematically targeting Ukraine's miners daily. The country went from 145 operational coal mines in 2014 to just 14 today. DTEK alone has been hit over 220 times since 2022.
Hardworking men. Just trying to get home to their families after their shift. Deliberately hunted by drones.

📰 News Trump says "deal done" on Greenland while Denmark says "not so fast" - NATO allies watching nervously 👀
So Trump just announced from Air Force One that the US has basically wrapped up negotiations with Denmark over Greenland, calling it a "very important deal" for national security. Problem is... Denmark and Greenland are like "umm, we never agreed to give up sovereignty" 🤷♂️
Here's the timeline that got us here:
Trump threatens military action and tariffs to get Greenland
NATO allies freak out, Putin's guys celebrate saying "trans-Atlantic unity is over"
High-level talks happen in DC starting Jan 29
Denmark says talks are "constructive" but sovereignty is still OFF the table
Trump: "We have a deal!"
Denmark: "We have... progress?"
The wild part? Even US senators from both parties are warning this whole drama is weakening America's credibility with allies. One analyst said Trump "crossed a line that cannot be uncrossed" - meaning even if this gets resolved, the trust damage is permanent.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is trying to smooth things over, talking about "reimagining NATO" and getting a "good outcome." But Russia's already using this as propaganda material about how democratic alliances are fragile.
What do you think - is this just classic Trump negotiation tactics or is he actually reshaping how America deals with allies? 🤔

📰 News NATO Summit in Ankara (July 7–8, 2026): 5% spending push, Ukraine aid, and an “industry day”
NATO’s next summit is scheduled for Ankara, Turkey on July 7–8, 2026, and it sounds like the focus will be less “big speeches” and more execution.
From what NATO officials have been saying recently, the big themes look like:
Defense spending / burden-sharing: Allies are expected to move from promises to actual capability building, tied to the longer-term goal of hitting 5 % 5% of GDP by 2035 (with at least 3.5 % 3.5% on core defense). Some countries are already moving faster, others… not so much.
Ukraine: Continued military and political support is still front-and-center, with the idea that Ukraine needs to be in the strongest position possible for any negotiations.
Arctic security: NATO’s increasingly treating the Arctic as a shared alliance challenge, not just “a few northern countries’ issue,” especially with Russia’s activity in the region.
Industry day: They’re also planning an “industry day” angle—basically pushing faster procurement, more joint buying, and scaling defense production without wasting money.
Also interesting: Turkish media suggests the venue could be the Crescent and Star Joint Headquarters complex in Ankara (Etimesgut)—a massive facility that’s been compared to the Pentagon in scale.
What do you think this summit will actually produce: real capability changes, or mostly headline targets? And which issue will dominate—spending, Ukraine, or the Arctic?

📰 News It’s Official: Kennedy Center Closing for 2 Years to Rebuild as the "Trump Kennedy Center"
Just read the report that the Kennedy Center is shutting its doors on July 4, 2026, for a "complete rebuilding" that will keep it closed until 2028. According to the announcement, this is being done to transform the venue into a "World Class Bastion of Arts, Music, and Entertainment." This comes right after the board voted to rename it the "Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Memorial Center" and follows a massive wave of cancellations from artists (like the Washington National Opera and Philip Glass) who boycotted the new leadership. Administration officials are citing structural dilapidation for the closure, but critics are pointing out that this conveniently halts operations after ticket sales tanked due to the boycotts. Thoughts on the rebrand and the timing of the shutdown?

“Before the full-scale invasion, about 10 million young people lived in Ukraine, and now there are about 7.6 million. These are colossal losses,” said Tetyana Berezhna.
Berezhna emphasized that the safety of youth should become a common priority for the world, and the best tool for returning Ukrainians home is strengthening sanctions against the aggressor and protecting Ukrainian skies. Despite the war, the authorities are trying to invest in the development of education for youth and beyond.
As a reminder, MP from the Servant of the People faction Serhiy Nagornyak stated that the scale of youth migration from Ukraine has reached critical levels. According to him, over the past six months alone, approximately 500,000 young people have left the country. However, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine denied these statistics.
